No. Everwhere ancient monsters are taking back temples and casting their shadows over the land. It is not a literal darkness, nor does it have the inter-dimensional qualities of the twilit. Darkness is merely the state of the land. That will become more clear as the story progresses. Also it's not to the point where towns and villages are being abandoned. Just to the point where outside kindoms are flooding into hyrule, which is also starting to see the same signs other kingdoms that were overcome have seen.

I definitely am interested.
Martial Artist.
I'm calling that one.

Hey I'd be interested in joining this, would you be apposed to having a Gerudo as one of the characters. She'd most likely be one of the good guys but her methods aren't always exactly ethical.

Yes of course thats just fine! Gerudos are in danger from all this just as much as the rest of hyrule.

OOC is up.
It is a time of turmoil in Hyrule. One by one the neighboring kindoms have been swallowed by an unidentifiable darkness.
Now there are no safe havens but Castle Town. Refugees pouring in every day, dwindling resources, and the constant reports from all corners of the land of ancient evils reawakening, Queen Zelda can no longer wait for the fabled Hero of the old stories.

It is clear he is not coming...

And even stranger... among the many incoming refugees are Gerudo's, including their current king, a kind-hearted man who couldn't be anything like Ganondorf's incarnation...
It would seem just as her world had learned to plan for and understand the cycle, the Goddesses have taken it away. Now... Something else is rising...

Now being truly unable to rely upon the cycle of the Goddesses, Zelda uses her own power to call upon the identities of those known as sage. And using the very last of her magic and the legendary four-sword, creates into being a fairy unlike any of her kind. One whose soul can split into many. And so the fairy flew off in many different directions to find the new saviors of the land and bring them to the castle... We can only hope they will make it in time...
Throughout the History of our noble land of Hyrule, there have been hundred's of years during which one of the Hero's incarnations do not arise to meet the challenges presented by the Evil in our land. And this is a story of one of those times. Villains once deep in slumber are being awoken by some dark force, and the only ones capable of stopping it are those bearing the title of "Sage"

This doesnt just mean the famous Sage's of time, though! Oh no! The Sage's could spring from anyone, anywhere, at any time. So who are you, great Sage? Where did you come from? What is your name? And do you possess the wisdom, courage, and strength, to work with the many lesser powers of the world and defeat whatever darkness holds its grip over us?

This story will represent a convergence point after all of the LOZ timelines, meaning that all LOZ characters are possible and permitted, as well as opening the gate for OC's.
I will represent the villains and the world around you, and whoever and whatever you are, whether it is hero, antihero, etc. Is completely up to you.

I am introducing a new idea as well. I will be using hiders to give you options in a way. For instance, If you go into a town, you can see the status of the town and the individuals by means of several hiders, which will be updated as the town changes, Allowing you to simply go to the first page and see the differences in whatever town you are currently in, and write your next post based on what you decided to do.

This will allow for a more open-world rp and one that does not necessarily require linear progression. While I am not opposed to a Link-like character, Link himself cannot be a character. He has a tendency to become the main focus of LOZ rp's and this is more going to be an exploration of the rest of Hyrule's spectaculars instead. If I get enough buzz on this interest check in the next two days, I will spend the next five days writing the first section of the world into existence, allowing you guys to play through that while I write the next few sections.

Welcome to Hyrule. This is your home. Shouldnt you be able to live in it?
Quick note. The NPC's are allowed to be controlled by the players using your best judgement and the following set of rules...
1.The NPC always says what it has to say first.
2. You cannot befriend, trick, or threaten an NPC into giving you a purchasable item.
3. The NPC cannot leave the spot it was found in.
4. You cannot affect the NPC in a way that would change its interactions with another player. You may post an intention to, which I will confirm or deny depending on if you've given them the right item etc. etc. and will update the changes as they happen.

Basically after the NPC's scripted message you may converse with it, within reason, as much as you wish! Solve challenges in creative ways if you like too! Even if its not the answer I was looking for, If it fits, I will award you the success! The idea I'm trying to get across is, you can basically do as you please. Everything you wanted to do in this world but couldn't before is now possible! Have fun with it! Enjoy all your different options! And of course I don't expect you to do everything and write a book on it for every post! You can pick and choose what you do, and read all the options as you see fit! But remember that only interactions you write about will have an effect on the world! feel free to meet up with and talk to the other sages too before your meeting! They should be easy to spot sonce they will have the blue fairy floating around them! Have fun! i will add more locations as I go!
MegaDraco! How come you havent posted in spiderweb city yet???
It wasn't long before I found the vehicles I needed. Two trucks with removable trailer hitches. Even better! One of them was filled with some pretty flexible baseboards for some house renovation or another. Unhitching them and dragging them both into the middle of the road so the were facing away from eachother must've took fifteen minutes, they were so damned heavy. But I got them where I needed them, and used the hitch pin from one to attach the two hitches together, making one, completely a pain in the ass to push, double sized cart. Breaking into a nearby house, I found a hammer and some nails, as well as some Jack's Beef Jerky. Munching away at it, I nail eight of the baseboards to the ends sticking straight up, and discard the rest, as they'll make poor building material anyways and aren't worth weighting down the cart with.

Afterwards I notched the top of each of the boards twice and, taking eight of those once seemingly ridiculous survival rope wrist bands out of my bag, I untie them, and noose them tightly onto the notches i made. Then, grabbing the middle of a rope, I hopped off the make-shift cart, letting gravity bend the baseboard down, and wrapping the cord around the axle tightly, Taking a brick from a nearby lawn, I use it to wedge the tire in place. I then repeat this process with the other eight baseboards, four to each axle. Then one by one I remove the brick stops. After the the second one is removed, my handmade, self propelled cart starts rolling over the other two. Quickly I hop in, and the tension in the cords from the bent baseboards rolls the cart along towards the town hall. When the tension runs out I grab the middle of the cords and wind them again. When I need to turn the cart a little I grab one of the cords to prevent the tension release, causing one tire to have propulsion without the other. Of course this is all killer on the tires, but... as much as there is a lack of working vehicles, there are still plenty of tires to steal, so I'm not too concerned about it.

And back I drive to the town hall. I know I'm being a bit of a show off, but I cannot wait to see the look on their faces when they see this...
