My 2 cents on the timeskip, even though no one asked for it. :)

I agree that a timeskip would be convenient soon as more players end up 'going to sleep' at the end of night one, however I would strongly request we don't immediately jump to the boss battle/pre-boss planning. For one, if we're following a loose timeline of the show it took over a month to discover the boss room on floor one and I personally think a month is a bit too long of a skip. Secondly, I like the idea of this RP being more focused on actual every-day life in Aincrad rather than the progression through the game, as the show portrayed, and would certainly welcome more time to level up, develop characters, discover 'secrets' and the like. Would be fun if the GMs, or even other members of the RP, started a sort of 'quest board' that our characters could use as an excuse to team-up with each other (when they wouldn't otherwise meet).

Perhaps if we were looking for a way to get everyone together in 'the same room', as it were, there could be some other type of large event/rare group quest that would draw the players together. I also liked the idea of someone starting a guild that willing characters could join to provide more opportunities to act within our already-forming groups and the wider 20-something of us that are part of the RP.

The guild thing could start a ways down the line though, I'm in no rush (neither is Geist).

Jus' ma thoughts!

Taking into account there are a total of 100 floors and the giga bosses every 25 levels, I don't think time skipping to the start of the level 1 boss fight is that big of a skip. The idea of rare events/group quests like you said won't be something thats available on floor 1. Remember the fishing hidden event?

These sort of things open up the further into the game you play because people start diversifying their skill sets (e.g. fishing/smithing/cooking) into advanced levels. Stuff like our characters hunting and enjoying searching/cooking a Ragout Rabbit seems to be along the lines of what you're talking about. But these things won't appear on level 1 nor would they be the type of thing people do several days into the game because people will be either despairing or focusing on clearing it.

I don't have a say on the time skip since I'm obviously not a GM but I wanted to explain to you how procrastinating on level 1 won't get you to the scenario you're describing. In fact, I don't even think going through 100 bosses is feasible. We're bound to enter periods where we're bound to skip several floors at one go or be forced to have go through repetitive boss fights which some people might like but I'm rooting more for a interaction roleplay and not grinding as if it was a real MMO. I mean if I wanted to then I would go play a real MMO.

Btw I'm discussing and not shooting you down or creating a fight or anything >_>.
Oh.

You quoted a post about time skipping.

I got confuzzled.

Sure you can make an information broker character

And now I think I need bed

Indeed, you seem to need sleep. But yeah misquote on my part. I'll make one that only appears post time skip since it doesn't make sense for there to be one several hours into the game. Also more realistic to be given time to gather said information.
You know on Mangafox they play Mafia games all the time but on the scales of 40+ players. Although generally theres about 10~15 ish people who vanish, they're pretty awesome. Sadly, everyone seems to know each other and its a circlejerk making it hard for new people to really get in on the fun. Cuz everyone else will be PMing each other and you need to hope they let in on the action :/
Do it? Noooooo

Key things will be seen umin the time skip....when I write it.

?? I meant make an information broker character.
<Snipped quote by hivekiller>

I meant tomorrow in the roleplay! Sorry!

Let meeeeeee do ittttttttttttttttttttt.
@chukklehed The Silent Woman doesn't sound quite as catch as the latter.

Btw, I think Caits misspelled broker. Unless theres this special term in SAO that I dont know about. Argo <3!!! Omg, I would totally volunteer to create an information broker character if you don't mind. In fact, please let me!
Aiden is accepted.

Glad to see unique characters!

Also.... buuuuuumpzzzz.
I honestly think a time skip would be good.

Because it would organize everybody AND offer a chance to become acquaintances during the time skip, defeating the need to reintroduce yourself time and time again. It'd be cool with a two week timeskip and everyone is like several levels higher and knows most of each other either personally or via rumours.

It will make it a lot more easier to get to the raid on the level 1 boss. Like, timeskip right into the meeting the day before we commence the raid and everyone is having dinner together in town. Just a suggestion though.

Cuz its been 111 posts and we've barely gone anywhere for some of us >_>".

Moments after the old man’s yell, the shout of a little girl could be heard.

Well this confirms it, thought Natto. He was glad that the situation was going to be solved so easily. Then again, it was unlikely that Hanako would have wandered off. Judging from the way the old man was acting and the sound the voice that responded to them, Hanako was a young child.

“Well, ain’t that good for you, Ojii-san?” Natto gave a warm-hearted smile and nodded towards the direction that Hanako shouted from. Though several people were now blocking the view between them, Hanako appeared through them, apparently being led by a teenage girl and boy. Were they siblings?

"Is this your Ojii-san, Hana?"

First name basis. But it didn’t seem like she knew the old man. Although this was a perfect opportunity to get the party he wanted, Natto didn’t exactly embrace the idea of joining into a party that had an old man and a young child, as cruel as that sounded. There was bound to be complications considering «Sword Art Online» was now a death game. However, he decided he was obligated to at least stay around and accept thanks before deciding whether or not he should leave them be.

Deciding he wouldn't interrupt Hanako's reunion with her Ojii-san, Natto directed his attention to the older girl. “Are you guys acquaintances or something? What do you plan to do now that «Sword Art Online» has come to this?” It was rather direct but there was no need for pointless banter considering the chaos that was happening.
If you'd like, I could totally format that for you ._., while a CS shouldn't be judged from its looks, human beings are superficial.
