Samuel~

The early morning light greeted Him with it's calming touch. His eyes fluttered open, for a moment their was peace, but then it came. The madness awoke shortly after he did.

Good morning...

Samuel...

"Yes... Good morning.." He replied hesitantly. It was always like this, he almost half wished that this dream would end in the earliest hours of his touch with consciousness. Samuel did not even know what was reality anymore. His hallucinations mocked him at every corner, yet somehow he was un-phased by it. Perhaps it was because this world seemed so surreal, so unbelievable. Sure, he had killed before the apocalypse, but it had been different before. He had had inhibitions about his murders, sure the men he had killed for his sister deserved the fate, but was it his duty to commit the act?

Now it was different. He felt nothing when he killed, almost disregarded his victims life. it was almost as if-

Samuel...

The voice again. When it came his inhibitions left him like always. He wondered at it. It was so soothing, so warm, so... Addicting.. He could not resist it's call and that frightened him. But, just as always, the second tone from the voice quelled even those misnomers.

Remember Samuel... Remember what we must do..

Yes... of course.. how could he have been so foolish. He had almost missed prime hunting time. Samuel sat up and brushed himself off. He had picked an abandoned suburb as his most recent home. His normal wares hung atop the long dead fireplace, greeting him upon his return to wake-fullness. It was almost unbelievable, supernatural powers, the ability to see another's connection to life itself.. It was miraculous... and unbelievable.

Samuel gathered his suit quickly and adorned it. He was long over do for a washing. He would have to attain some means to upkeep his attire, sloppiness was out of the question. He sighed as he finished dressing, even his morning routine was growing tiresome. What was it about this life that seemed so... unbelievable...

He shrugged the thought off as he stepped out of the room. His cane and top hat awaited him. He adorned both and set for the door. Upon reaching it he paused. What was it he was doing again? The hunt.. the voice came immediately, reassuring him off his place in this world.

Upon stepping into the sun lit world he was put at ease. Something about the smells and sounds of morning had always brought him peace. "How quaint.." He remarked in passing before moving on promptly to the task at hand.

He reached into his breast pocket and retrieved a beautiful wooden pipe that he had acquired from his old friend Matthias. He lit it and took a few long puffs before continuing his well paced gait.

Today was going to be a busy day..

I think we can sum up Ariela's entire plot like with one word: puberty.Just kidding xDAnd also, as usual, I love the posts, homies. On another note, I have some good news. There is a small shimmer of hope that Zeph may be returning. He's had a rough time with life and all, and he may not be posting as frequently as the rest of us were he to return. But he's my homie none the less, so make sure to cut the brothah some slack. I might have to write up a small summary for him and I'll post it here first to make sure I didn't misinterpret your guys' posts. On another-other note, with the way the plot is moving, we may end up having one of those multi-person collabs soon. I don't think I've ever collabed with beast or Anriu besides npc'ing for Anriu. You know what this means? We're all about to get nice and homie-fied.OHHHH another thing. Once we finish chapter 1, I'm gonna put up another interest check to see if maybe a few more people will join. We'd be out of Sovereign (unless you guys rp that we all just die, that's be cool to I guess. :| ) so it'd be like a new start. But at the same time, I don't want to bring in people if you guys don't want me to. Lemme know.Aight well I'm gonna hit the bed. I'll see you people later, love yah fools, peace!

Lol, what can I say, she's an early bloomer is alll :P.

Also: I am super 'cited for multi pepes collabs as well :D I am rather enjoying how everything is beginning to come together :).

Edit: Sorry for the lack of body to my post their. I am building to something fantastic and needed to tone down the meatiness a little.

Ariela; Twenty seven hours following her close encounter with death.

She felt like she was suffocating. Some foreign weight pressing down on her, making each breath harder than the last. In burst of sudden struggle her eyes shot open, but still she was shroud in darkness. She kicked at it with her tiny limbs, flailing about awkwardly until her head was released from the confines of the soft and downy sarcophagus that had entrapped her. 'Wait...' Ariela check herself hurriedly, running her hands over her body in a desperate struggle to grasp at a false truth. "I- I am..."

She had reverted. Artemis had taken it. Her old body was back, and she could feel the difference in her strength even now. She was so weak.. "How did I ever manage with only this.." She marveled at the concept of surviving in the streets of sovereign with such a insignificant sum of power. Even if had only been for a moment, she had experienced a whole new world of strength, and now she was addicted. She wanted it. She needed it. Yet, no matter how many times she delved within her own mind to confront Artemis about this hunger, he was absent.

She began to feel claustrophobic, all was not well, she needed escape. Ariela burned through her surrounding in an attempt to find escape. It was rather dark, but she could tell she was in a small room. She couldn't quite remember what they were called, it had been so long since she had seen one. It started with a 'C'. Ariela could picture the image, but she couldn't find the word. She shook her head of her mindless thoughts. Their were more important things, she had to escape this- this, whatever it was. She pushed against one of the walls, light seeped through it's upper half and she thought it might be weaker than the other three. Ariela was rewarded for her wit as the wall-door slid open and revealed the room outside.

What she saw made her want to crawl back into her downy sarcophagus and hide for an eternity. The corpse of a woman lay with its head facing her. It's dead eyes peering into her very soul. The moment she saw those eyes it all came rushing back to her. She relived it all, every scream, every step, every terror filled moment. How could she have forgotten? Joanna had saved her... Had saved...

But then she remembered something else. Ariela remembered a girl. The girl who had cursed all of humanity to death. The girl who had wished apocalypse upon the world. The girl who had killed hundreds in cold blood without ever batting a lash. What she remembered was a monster. What she remembered, was herself. Tears welled up in her eyes. All the hatred she had embraced for so long began filling her again, but now it was foreign. It had turned from comfort into agony. The memories of her mother, of her village, and of Joanna turned her hatred into a disgusting thing. something she should abhor.

She had been wrong. It wasn't the world that was against her, It was the oppressors. The raiders that had burned her village. The men that had raped her mother. The men that had... ...her. The nameless faces that had broken her teeth over lead filled bread. The military that had killed Joanna...

She had been wrong to turn against humanity.. She had been wrong to turn her hatred on the innocent. she had been wrong to kill Joanna's husband in cold blood. Wrong to turn on the man that tried to comfort her moments before this whole thing began..

She had been wrong..

But she knew now what had to be done. She would purge this world of the evil's that filled it.

..and she would start with the military forces of Sovereign...

"Yes..." chuckled a silent voice deep within Ariela's unconscious. "We... can use this...."

Night-vision makes you more sensitive to what little light there is, allowing you to distinguish the various shades of dark. This makes it ideal for detecting things which hide in shadows, as unless the light intensity (or lack there-of) of Ishigo is the same as the shadow he is hiding in then he can be spotted. Normally, slight discrepancies would not be significant, as ordinary eyes are only well-adjusted for a particular range of intensities at any given time so to most people Ishigo would easily be invisible, but with magic-assisted night vision there is no such disadvantage of needing to wait for eyes to adjust and then only poorly.
