The Jimmies face!
STC Syren ( BH-109)

Commander Vellais and her crew couldn’t help but laugh and cheer at the destruction of the EU ship, they had completed their mission, but at what cost. One shuttle and a pilot had been killed, a solider, trained for 18 years before ever setting foot on a Septonian vessel. This was a bittersweet almost Pyrrhic victory, so much had to be sacrificed to gain a minor victory against the enemy. They had no idea of the pilots whereabouts, or even if he was alive. The EMP from the mixed nuclear and HE explosions burnt out all beacon and communication software the stranded pilot had, making detecting him very hard. After a half an hour of visual searching and the introduction of the new EU fleet commander Vellais decided to back off, keeping her stealth systems activated until she was far away from any ship in orbit over nouvelle, almost like she wasn’t even there. The Special forces team was still fresh in Commander Vellais’s mind as she put distance between her and the planet nouvelle.

The Syren had one more Kaave shuttle available to pick up the special forces team, the problem was getting enough fuel on a shuttle to get them there and back. The shuttle crew knew where they’re extract was but to get around the new EU fleet and remain hidden from the rest of the on alert ships in the area, they needed to plot a wide course under and around the planet, entering the atmosphere on what looked like the twilight portion of the planet. Portable fuel bladders would have to be introduced which would increase the weight of the shuttle and probably have to be removed once the shuttle touched down on the planet. Recovering the special forces team was of the utmost importance to Comander Vellais, so making a Septonian footprint on nouvelle was the least of her worries.

Icarus, confronting the Terran ship

Another alien language confronted the Septonian concordant, however this time Analyzing the language was left to the brilliant minds of the diplomatic corps. Within hours a rough translation was worked out, although the removal of the red aura around the ship and the removal of fighters greatly helped their deduction. Trainees and teachers alike deducted they this ship was no longer pursuing hostile action and were trying to actively communicate with the concordant. One part of the message still confused them however, ‘Who was the Eternal Union?”, the Concordant had faced hostile action on Jaques rest but they did not know the name of the nation who they fought with. After debate among he diplomatic corps students and teachers, it was decided to invite the unknown race down to the planet to allow them to watch the footage of the engagement and see wether or not they recognized the force. A very rough translation of their language was sent to the siege ship in orbit “ Please make your way down to the planet, we would like to speak with you”. Which probably sounded more like “ Come down, we speak” in the Terran language.

Two man recon team.

Kacha let out a quiet curse as the airship flew overhead, it was loud and could be heard for a ways off. The introduction of the flares really complicated things, washing out their night vision visors and forcing them to go prone against the ground. When a spotlight appeared the pair became increasingly nervous and careful, wondering what they could be looking at. With their armor painted and their off grey rucksacks, they hoped they looked like rocks in the dark, but on could never be sure. The pair just stayed as sill as possible, hoping the contact would go away.
Kaave/ EU shuttle

The pilot quickly flattened himself on the deck as the EU pilot began blind firing over the crate. He could hear the snap of rounds flying what seemed like centimeters over his head as the Iscandarin swept back and forth with his rifle. Suddenly the ship lurched forward and the pilot was thrown towards the back of the ship, smacking against the rear wall as the ship continued to accelerate. Turning his head the pilot could see the docking collar between the two ships flex due to the acceleration, yet the two ships remained attached. As the Iscandarian pilot stopped to reload, the Septonian pilot quickly brought the rifle up to his shoulder and fired the remainder of his magazine toward the crate and the exposed Iscandarian hand, trying to keep its head down. The click of the rifle going empty seemed to echo around EU ship as the pilot reflexively checked to see if the bolt had locked back before chucking it to the side and running for the relative cover of the docking collar between the two ships. The pilot had to make a fateful decision pull the explosives into the EU ship and save the Kaave shuttle or escape while both shuttles were attached. The thought of surviving this ordeal excited him, but he didn’t want to fail the mission because of his own greed. If the EU crew got to the explosives before they reached the scout ship they would certainly know what they were. Thinking quickly, the pilot grabbed the first guard by the arm and dragged him into the doorway to keep the airlock from closing. Dropping to the ground to avoid the next round of fire, the Septonian pilot quickly snatched the first guards rifle and ducked back behind the docking collar wall before running back into the Kaave shuttle.

The EU ship was now completely visible in the cockpit window and getting closer by the second. Without another thought, he ran back towards the EU shuttle and sprayed another couple bursts of fire back towards the Iscandarian pilot before running back to the Kaave shuttle, donning his helmet and shooting out the cockpit window. The air rushed out of the shuttles almost instantly and it suddenly became extremely cold, in the pilots helmet a small air meter was now displayed, he now had about 15 minutes of air left. Climbing out onto the roof of the ship, he stole one last look at the EU scout ship before jumping off, floating up above the shuttles as they got closer and eventually went inside the ship. The next thing he saw was a light almost as bright as a sun followed blackness….
Where is Wilson, he is good at catching people up
The average bullet travels at 2,500 feet per second (around 1,700 mph). If you reacted to the sound of the gun going off and required 0.20 seconds (twice that of the fastest Olympic sprinters) to react, then you would need to be at least 500 feet away to successfully dodge a bullet. The problem is that sound travels at 768 miles per hour (1,126 feet per second)—about half the speed of the bullet. In this case, the bullet would hit you before you even heard the gun fire off.

Kaave shuttle around Nouvellian space

The pilot nodded and took one crate back to his ship placing it on the floor. As he turned around to walk back and grab the second crate the pilot discretely grabbed the rifle from the wall mount and silently flipped the fire selector to full auto. This was all very close range and he had no doubt in the rifles ability to penetrate their armor. As he rounded the corner between the two docked ships the rifle was already leveled and at the ready. At this range there would be no doubt that he would hit his target, putting a two second burst into the first guard’s chest before taking two striding steps and diving towards the floor, into the EU shuttle. As he dove he turned his body towards the other guard and slid across the deck on his side, waiting to come to a stop before putting another two second burst into the second guard’s midsection. Without getting up, the pilot leveled the rifle towards the cockpit bulkhead, he roughly had two more bursts left in his magazine.
So there are two guards and two pilots? four people in total?
Important part here duck, are they in their chairs facing away from the septonian pilot? Or are they still standing there?
Well it didnt work on the Aradites, and was I supposed to leave by guys there and not come pick them up? Leave all of my technical secrets to your plundering? No. Anyway back to IC.
Posted a response Duck, lets keep this moving. This could be interesting.
