Shrug. To me, personally, I don't see the difference between a chatroom and a forum thread other than ease of access. Constantly having to refresh for replies can get obnoxious. Also, I've been able to hash out relationships between characters much faster in chatrooms compared to OOC threads, but that could just be me. Regardless, here are the WIP sheets of my characters.

Appearance

Kiyoko’s sharp white hair color makes her stand out in crowds of multi-colored hairs, it’s more quaint and less vibrant then the varying colors of blonde and brown or the pastels that many have. She ties it back with a black ribbon, as to keep as much of it out of her face as possible. Many of her outfitting choices are made as to keep from inhibiting any fighting ability. Kiyoko’s eyes fit the same as her hair, they are uncolored minus a tinge of grey. Her general wear are loose-fitting robes, as to stray from inhibiting her sword fighting capability. These loose-fitting robes are the robes of the Denki clan, wearing their signature colors of blue and white.

Personality

Kiyoko's personality can come off as somewhat abrasive and rude, from her general aggressive nature.
She is a strict teacher, pushing her students to the very limits of their capabilities. She believes that she deserves the best out of them, so the best she will get. Though her students will often think that she doesn't care about them at all because of this, it's quite the opposite.

On a more personal level, outside of being professional as a shinobi, Kiyoko is a lot more light hearted and in general seems to have a lot less weight on her shoulders. She takes being a jonin very seriously, because she wants to be a positive role model and teacher for her students.

Kiyoko is motivated by her fellow jonin and students, she thinks that it's a mutual relationship. She makes them better, while they in return make her a better person. While it may not be entirely true, it's something that she believes very highly.

Dagekiken: A weapon forged for her by her father, it is a sharp but thin blade made specifically to conduct electricity. The hilt allows for lightning to exit her palms and pulse throughout the blade, providing increased piercing power through vibrations, with the added effect of inducing numbness.

double edit: i'd consider making a discord server for this roleplay, considering chatrooms are an easy way to hash out relations between characters and such.

Appearance

With Miya's piercing green eyes, she knew there was no way that she could change her appearance well enough to look different from her bounty poster's picture. After a stop in a town shortly after deserting,
Miya slashed off a good amount of her hair with her sword, drastically changing the length. Even if taverns with her bounty poster in them, if she avoids eye contact and doesn't make a big deal over it, it's hard to tell they're the same person.

Equipment

Hitogoroshi: A supreme grade sword, Hitogoroshi is one of the highest quality swords to exist in the world. It has been passed down through many generations of Fukusei, and will continue to do so until the blade is no longer in the hands of one such Fukusei.

Fighting Style

Ittoryu: Ittoryu is a form of swordsmanship in which only one blade is used, in contrast to other forms where you use two or even three. Miya practices Ittoryu with her preferred blade, Hitogoroshi.
•Daishinkan: Daishinkan consists of Miya running towards his opponent with Hitogoroshi held outstretched in one arm. She then executes a two handed overhead swing used to split her opponent into two from the top down.
•Baki: After raising her sword above her head, Miya delivers a powerful vertical slice to her opponent, usually at an angle along with not being as exaggerated as Daishinkan. This attack can easily slice through solid stone.

Skills & Abilities

Charisma: Miya is charismatic, whether it just be the fact that she's a woman or a natural skill she has, she definitely exercises a certain compelling charm.
Tracking & Wayfaring: Through proper training as a marine, Miya is a skilled tracker and sailor. Though, she usually doesn't try to get in the way of Cris' as the captain. If asked, she'd be more than willing to help out.

Background Information

Growing up, Miya was fascinated with the idea of becoming a marine. Her father was a marine, and hearing about his stories of capturing and killing pirates amazed her. She believed for the longest time that pirates were the scum of the earth, and never believed that she would resort to piracy herself.

Throughout her teenage years, Miya was taught how to use a sword, to be prepared for when Hitogoroshi, a supreme quality sword, was finally passed down from her father to her. Hitogoroshi was a family heirloom spanning across many generations of Fukusei, said to originally be forged in the heart of a star. Though, Miya was pretty sure that was just a story her father told her to fall asleep to.

Hitogoroshi was passed down to her after the death of her father. A group of pirates had finally gotten the best of him. Miya took his death to heart, this event only strengthened her want and or need to join the marines. She had this mindset that all pirates were bad because the world government said they were. She trained every day until she was able to join the marines, she wanted to capture as many pirates as possible, as if that could possibly make up for her fathers death. Deep down she knew it wouldn't, but it was something to focus on, inane ambitions are still something to work for.

At the ripe age of 23, with around 10 years of training under her belt, she believed that she has mastered the art of Ittoryu. This skill lead her to joining the marines, as she was worthy. She climbed the ranks all the way up to junior lieutenant, before learning of the scummy practices in the marines. They were easily bribed and would often bully around citizens. This wasn’t what she wanted, she wanted to genuinely do good in the world.

Thus begins the strengthening of Miya’s bounty, beginning with her desertion of the marines. Her bounty increased through the killings of scummy businessmen and whoever she determined to be worthy of death. Where she got the idea that she had this sort of power is beyond anyone, but she thinks she has it. Additionally, many think of Miya as a hitman of sorts, though that’s not entirely true. While she will not take hits from just anyone, if you have the right amount of beli you could get her to do just about anything.

A few months after desertion, Miya was used to life as a vigilante marine-pirate killer. She had been going through a marine controlled town, scaring them off as to keep them from bullying the citizens any further, when she came across a crew of pirates. She was ready to off all of them when the pirate wielding a guitar convinced her to join them instead. This musician, Cris, pointed out that not all pirates are bad, with a bit of evidence, she was sold. Joining the crew, Miya became the resident Swordswoman and Navigator.

Potential Roleplay: Any Naruto Fans?

I'm mostly indifferent as long as none of the canon characters/plot are involved in any way. Player autonomy is important to me but I can also see where GM's need to guide the players to a plot point that they have written.
