The time system used here is manually updated, usually based on how events are flowing. With time updates comes orbit updates as well once I get the universe sandbox map set up which will be today. It is only meant to represent orbits. If there is any specific traits you want, feel free to notify me on that.

On the Eve of a New Cycle

A materialist by the name of Trivo steps up to a projector. He is a very flabby, blubbery figure, with not much in the way of discernible teeth nor any hair beyond some facial cilla. His skin, so transparent you can see the muscles within and the yellowish eyes through the thin, gel-like skin do not give a full picture in the kind of man he is, normally wearing his exoskeletal suit when in a formal setting. But alas, this is an emergency conference with the other leaders of his party.

One of them, a shapeless he sees right by him absent of any body features or clothing beyond that reflective humanoid form and a couple opaque eyes says "First Citizen Tirvo, it is time we speak on the state of the accessible universe as of the three hundredth year of the republic and how to move forward from the corruption scandal that plagued the last coalition."

Tirvo tries to keep a professional, stiff composure despite being basically naked during this sudden discussion and replies "As the first citizen and head of the formless party my duty to ensuring universal liberty has made it a first priority to continue the efforts of liberating new worlds for the federation. We have our sights set on multiple societies which have come into close orbit to our outpost worlds within the inner associations as of late and if we act fast we may uproot the Jinn States who live ever closer to the sun from the Virgo outpost worlds."

The shapeless is just there, seemingly cold and reactionless before replying "As your high diplomat, I advise that we do not waste our time with them. We have bigger factions to contend with who are within orbit of our outer worlds. The inner system back waters can wait surely."

Another Representative of the party, mainly his organizer begins to bring up domestic problems on the very world of Lux. This representative has no avatar and just prefers to use a red screen.

"We have to worry not just of what is out there. Within our world in the arctic habitats we are contending with splinter protests yet again. You know how they are." the red screen says.

Tirvo is never certain who is actually behind the red screen, unsure of who to reply to first Tirvo just cranes its sloppy head a bit tells the red screen "I'll get to that later, there is another issue more pressing."

The red screen simply dissipates in response.

Tirvo brings its attention back to the shapeless secretary expressing a bit of concern, "but what if they spread? All our probes that go there end up being destroyed, suggested a strong military. Tackling them sooner than later may be optimal for spreading the light of civilization and emancipators the individual from the oppression of the world dictatorships."

Another figure, a very peculiar one suddenly chimes into view. It is a vague figure, unlike anything Tirvo has seen and isn't sure if it is even a shapeless.

"Who is this?" Tirvo uncomfortably asks, its privacy being invaded twice now.

The figure is just silent and the high diplomat shouts before going silent, "We have been compromised!"

The silent figure, with the annoyance gone finally speaks ina rather soft tone of voice, "What about the Concord?"

Suddenly it vanishes and the room returns to normal with the high diplomat down right in a state of yellow faced panic. The high diplomat shouts "We have been compromised! Your safety is at extreme risk!"

But Tirvo, oddly laid back about this encounter just dismisses the concern and says "Perhaps we could send someone to the Concord."

"But what about your safety?" The high diplomat asks, unable to express the bit of chock it was feeling.

"My safety?" A befuddled Tirvo wonders out loud before assuring "My safety is ensured by other means. Do not worry. Just get who you can to the Concord."

Concord Outreach Mission

The question of our time is not one of rebuilding the past, but of building towards a different path than the one the distant past had set us on in an opportunity which only appears once every so often in the cycle of civilization. When the lights begin to shine again, we can project a more equitable and more just vision for society than what has come before. Be it when we lived in slavery centuries ago or lived under the corruption of the populistic party before the constructivists. Currently the situation has become incredibly chaotic once again as the three parties continue their competition for control of the worlds.

The current first citizen, a materialist by the name of Tirvo Suveno from the colonized garden habitat of Janus the Third has gained considerable interest in trying to expand the Domain’s reach to the other rising societies in the known universe. Operative Sarns, a shapeless diplomat appointed by Suveno, founds itself now headed on a small space craft headed towards alien territory. The journey is just a few days, but you never know what can happen on the way there. The risk is vast on the way, for in a spacecraft such as the gleaming white and gold Prosperity Shuttles you are always being watched. Thousands of lights always being detected even in this dim age. The two guard frigates, which the Formless Party had sanctioned, this group is unable to account for every potential danger, which may be dealt the way of the mission.

Within the shuttle, a dispute has broken out between Suveno and its fellow folk within the spacious luxury craft gleaming in platinum tiles and reflective, silvery panels. The deck is highly simple in its interface- just a 3D map projection and a local AI salvaged from ancient ruins. The wealth of the Formless elite is something they are all too happy to express much to the disdain of Suveno, who takes on its default, blank form as it stares over a hovering table facing very rigid headed Tibian whose coal black eye burn in irritation while its spindly fingers tap the table tops.

The Tibian brings up the question on its mind, bluntly asking, “To what degree are we to even interact with them? Every intelligence we have on our destination shows them to be hardly anything humanoid, yet your higher ups have insisted on bringing an infiltrator.”

Suveno shifts its seemingly shapeless head into a tan shaped head while retaining its android base body and replies in a vocal tone imitating someone else, “We aren’t trying to infiltrate. We are here solely for formal interaction.”

“In which case, why did you bring me?” the Tibian asks before reforming itself back to its default form, that of a greyish humanoid.

Suveno shifts to its default head again and simply says "Because I needed you here. I just do."

The grayish humanoid shapeless is just a bit silent on this before saying "I see. Hopefully I do not make the body guard redundant either way. We should be arriving within 87 hours from now to this destination. Which place was it that we were going again?"

Operative Sarns replies "We are headed to Lural, which our intelligence believes to be the capital of the Concord."
@Raylah
Everyone orbits the same sun within a dyson swarm of artificial worlds. So interplanetary travel is all you really need.
@Raylah
Traveling to other stars you can spend the money on if you want, but the no FTL policy makes it way harder than it normally would be. Everyone's meant to be within this single star system.

When you refer to system do you mean like a regional world cluster?
@Raylah
Interstellar as in going to other star systems or do you mean traveling to other worlds within this star system?
@Raylah

Looks good to me with just a question on the interstellar travel part- is this just a goal of theirs or have they actually done it?

(I also quietly addressed the technical failing on my part)
Jan 2nd 2057, on the shores of the Lake of Lust in the canopy of the Ethereal Complex.

A Sumutan by the name of Salms, the head engineer of spatial affairs, climbs up into the top room of the First Citizen's command spire, the highest spire within the Ethereal Complex. Salms struggles a bit to pull itself over the safety bars before getting some stable tethering. The head engineer paces itself a bit with the hand grooves on the ground and sees the first citizen itself playing with some toys. The head engineer starts slamming its main body and the floor and slapping its hand tentacles all over the floor, getting the attention of First Citizen Somis.

Somis cautiously positions its toy figures for a bit before shifting itself around to face towards Salms. Somis is a very pale figure with artificially green tinted compound eyes and multiple clan markings covering its body along with multiple platinum bracelets from every major guild to signify its position as the first citizen.

Somis begins to speak.

"Head Engineer Salms, why are you here?” Somis acts in a very matter of fact way.

“This is the new year’s vacation week. Hopefully this should prove more important than the game I was playing with my good friend Virms.” Somis tells its head engineer. The head engineer in response, using its arm tablet to project on the aerogel window a simplistic orbital map highlights the orbital command station along with the recently launched military satellites and the orbital city of Talmac. The typical trade paths are shown, with multiple trade paths within the same longitude of the orbital command center being highlighted red.

Salms than elaborates as its tries to stabilizes its bobbling so it can be taken seriously by Somis, "I am just here to discuss our other interplanetary projects. We have been able work with the kobolds on the orbital city and a multitude of other space missions thus far, orbital commerce however is taking a hit due to the explosion at the Cindorian's orbital command station as our monitors have shown us. Lots of fear is running through the People's News and Liberty Daily on the potential of a cascading debris storm. We know the cleaners should take care of the worst of it, but we need you to assure this as they only listen to you. The only trade paths at risk of micro-debris are in the north, which is nowhere near the orbital city."

Somis stiffens its tentacles a bit, rubbing them across its wide head as its internal coloring becomes more vibrant. “It is great that our friends on Brui (or as the Novas like to say, ‘Cindorya…’) are finally seeing the light, but how do we know they won’t just get nuked? While we can privately celebrate how this disruption allowed for the Lustful Thrust and the Happiest Four to be deployed without being intercepted, we must play it cautious in public. The Dominion spies are likely already preparing to do some subterfuge as is.”

Somis starts to pace itself about the place as Salms hovers in position, rotating itself as Somis continues to rant. Somis after a bit of thinking tells Salms “For we will need far more if we are to be of credible deterrence against the fascists up north and to continue the campaign of global liberation. Have Toso from the Trader’s Guild call up whoever is currently running the coastal towns in New Auslassia to negotiate a trade deal, our current trade relations need to improve to pump out these kill satellites. Two a year is far too slow and we are racing against a clock with our society’s name on it.”

Salms takes notes on its arm tablet and then brings up again the media panic, “Will you still do the assurance?”

Somis briefly pauses for a bit. Than finally replies, “Of course, the people of the Soto need me!”

World At Large - On the Cindorian Orbital Incident: Do not fear, Somis assures

First Citizen Somis on the Orbital Command Station Bombing to the multiple trading guilds has spoken on the matter of the Cindorian Orbital Incident, claiming that any debris from the explosion will not affect trade in Low Mondai Orbit and that the trade paths are mostly safe. Analysts say that the brief wave of panic on ground comes primarily from media up north trying to cause terror by over exaggerating the potential danger of a kessler syndrome breaking out because of this terrorist attack. Rumors have it that the attack may have been caused by revolutionaries from a colony on the icy world of Brui.

The Full Transcript is below.

“This tragic act has no place in any civil society, we do not have the best relations with the Cindorian Empire, but we can’t express enough our concern for the innocent civilians who have fell victim to this wonton act of anarchy even as we oppose the existence of this very station. The damage done to the military station which the Cindorians for decades have used to limit the freedom of space commerce and a national right to orbital defense has caused much fear of what happens to the debris so many in the media have claimed to have apocalyptic consequences. But do not fear- the worst of the damage is far and away from Talmac or where any of our pioneers of space commerce carry out their business. Be it out on the moons of Unity at the Vostok Cosmodrome or on our outposts stationed on Sapia. We will continue our policy of avoiding any ties with the Cindorian Empire, and so the bulk of people will not be affected by any micro-debris provided they stay south of the Cindorian Imperial territory and as always- keep a distance from any orbital military installations.”

DISCLAIMER: This is a developing story, stay tuned!

Power Politics- The Violet Society's Charity Ploy

The Violet Society has for the past two decades been playing the role of opposition to the Builder’s Guild and their continued dominance of the Unified Soto. The Violet Society has continued to push for an emphasis on domestic values, isolationism and limiting the degree to which Velutians and Alt-Sapiens have been allowed into the Soto region bringing up concerns of living space and concerns on the cultural harm that these immigrants may potentially bring. This is in disregard of how immigration has allowed us to recover from the miserable economy the Violet Society let the Soto region languish in for so long.

Still, the Violet Society has managed to recover some of their image by creating a strong charitable network for the Soto people and has even branched out into Velutian territory, where many people still live a simpler life. However, no elections have been called and the Trade Guild continues to limit the extent to which they can get more organizations to agree on new elections. The last election held in 2055 has already affirmed continued support for First Citizen Somis and for the continuation of the Builder’s Guild as our head guild. But near future developments could give the Violet Society a much-needed opening.

The Orbital City of Talmac, January 2nd 2057

At the ripe age of 7, fresh from the pond and ready to live life a Sumutan by the name of Supu finds itself working for its guardians in an antique shop. Supu is often playing around the antique shop, getting itself stuck in all matter of unfortunate places, playing in the low gravity areas and constantly needing to be fished back down to the floor all the while the shop keepers act as parents. One of these shop keepers, a wrinkly Sumutan with a popped head who travels via a motorized platform and speaks with a vocal device who mostly handles the inventory calls for Supu.

The wrinkly Sumutan says “Supu, there’s something important I need to tell you.”

Supu peeks out from under a dome shaped antique and floats itself down from the shelves, but keeps on its hand tentacles only gingerly touching the ground. The deep baby blue hue and dark red eyes of Supu look at the shriveled thing in front of itself.

The shriveled thing says “Our clan has decided that our children need to visit Soto. We believe it is needed to build your sense of character.”

Supu found itself absolutely stunned by this, before slopping to the floor limp and like jelly, deflated in despair at the suggestion before bleating, “The surface? Our generation will never need to go down there! We are the generation that will explore the Sapia and liberate every world in this star system! How can we go back down there? We don’t want your old world, I don’t want it especially!”
The shriveled thing through up one of its tentacles and coughs a bit as Supu continues to bitch before replying “Sapia is much like Nova Mondai, but the gravity is worse there according to the news. If you want to explore Sapia, you must be able to live on Nova Mondai too. We must wear suits out there, it isn’t always this free floaty fun you spawnlings have all the time these days. This is a very dangerous world, you must be adaptable or you may one day end up like me, all shot up, shriveled up and abandoned.”

Supu floats itself back up and hesitantly agrees, if only out of the fear that it may one day look like the shriveled-up thing if it doesn’t toughen up.

“Good. You will go down in a week, be prepared, our guild will teach you everything you need to know of the Soto and why we must liberate.”

Supu is a bit confused on that and asks "I thought I learned that as a larva."

The shriveled up thing pulls itself up with its three remaining limbs to get its eyes to Supu's eye level and says, "We only taught your soul, now we will teach your mind."
The Concord seems to be balanced and very thought out, accepted since it's complete enough.

I like how different our approaches are. I made a surreal society while you did a more sci-fi one. Will be interesting to see how future potential players approach this.

Anyhow, it will be interesting how the Domain will deal with such peculiar society. Much harder to infiltrate for the humanoid formless, that much is certain. I would expect for the hallucinogenics to spread into the Domain though.
New app.

Name of Nation: The Unified Soto Guilds

Nation Characteristics: The USG is a union of multiple guilds who took power after the Soto Republic collapsed. These guilds make up the core of society and create a federated system of government as the overall government is a union of these guilds who regionally control different parts of the Soto rainforest. They are, despite this, unstable and with a highly romantic culture where free thinking is heavily encouraged and civil unrest is common. Economically they are a mixture of market socialism and cosmopolitanism. Their multiculturalism goes back centuries and is the legacy of a network of ancient tropical empires that had oriented themselves along the huge river systems of the Soto region. These guilds can trace their origins back to these empires.

While the inhabitants of the Soto region once existed in rigid caste systems and very autocratic modes of governance, their whole civilization basically has been in a state of perpetual instability ever since their traditional ally, the Aldabetan Republic got destroyed by the Cindoryai.

Their current society, the USG, has already seen a major political shift towards more socialist politics and has undergone a huge spree of military spending while continuing tensions with multiple imperial societies to this day. In spite of all this, they actively work with other less authoritarian societies and have tried to spearhead various international organizations to varying degrees of success.

Their current leader is the First Citizen Somis, elected in 2052 under the Builders Guild and has maintained its coalition ever since. Somis has been a very aggressive player unlike its more pragmatic predecessor.

History:
The Soto Republic was founded in the ashes of some very dark times, mainly in the wake of a colonial revolt against occupiers from distant lands around the year 1900 which ended in the unification of the whole Soto rainforest under a single government. The Soto Republic modernized their society and dealt with decades of very tumultuous, corrupt politics for its 80 years of existence. The Republic age is mostly known for the incredible corruption and incredible opulence. The Soto Union started in 1985 after a civil war within the earlier Soto Republic caused by debt crises, which spiraled out of control and a military that ran out of money. The Violet Society became the dominant force and moved society towards a more or less conservative place as they remained staunch, but distant allies of the Republic who they still perceive a debt to.

After the Void War the current market socialist system developed after as the populous became much more radicalized due to the economic fallout of the war and a climate of extreme terror. A much more left wing political faction known as the Builders Guild was elected to power under the pragmatic leadership of Idani in 2041. The Violet Society was perceived as too submissive to the imperialists in 2041. The Builders Guild has pretty much dominated politics ever since on a general agenda of building a better world and universal freedom. They also are why market socialism became the de facto economy within the Union, the guilds and market in theory balancing each other out. In theory.

Nation Location: The rainforest region with the four rivers and single large lake. (same place)

Nation Initial Population: 107 million, 70% Sumuta, 30% other

Species Name: The Sumuta

Species Characteristics: The Sumuta are molluscoids who have adapted to an arboreal environment, they are literal airheads. They have warm colored compound eyes at the front of their mantle which see far more colors than usual. Their bodies tend to be pale blue or simply white with various stripy skin patterns. Limb-wise they have four sets of tentacles with a bilateral symmetry which themselves have four sub-tentacles they use for tool manipulation.

Their large amorphous mantle obscures their triangular beak. The Sumuta reproduce with purse eggs they hang from trees who become larvae, of whom grow under water in fresh water conditions into bigger Sumuta over time. It is during this process that the larvae develop their air bladders and adult body parts, eventually growing enough to begin floating just enough to be able to walk on land. The Sumuta are fresh water mulluscoids adapted to the tropical streams of the Soto region and the Sumuta lake which is where millions of Sumuta have lived for ages.

They’re around 7’ on average from the top of their air filled mantle to the tip of their 'toe' sub-tentacle and are remarkably dexterous and intelligent critters. Though their strength is pretty weak, making them dependant on other races and machines to due the heavily lifting.

Side Chosen in Void War: Aldabetan Republic

Technological Level: Advanced in regards to design, are very good at engineering design. However, their economy is still a manufacturing oriented one and their military spending spree has given them some innovations of note mainly in having developed computing system and whatnot. Their spacecraft are remarkably maneuverable, but lack the damage output or advanced defenses of say, the Cindoryai Empire. They inherited a fair amount of tech from their trade relations with the Aldabetans.

Tech to note:
-They have machines/drones
-Very competent with magnetics.
-They have the capability to build orbital infrastructure, most notably they have been trying to make an orbital city with some help.
-Have been working on orbital kill satellites and have launched a couple in the past year taking advantage of the Cindoryai's weakened space infrastructure.

Special Resource: Ethermaterial, a bubbly building material with aerogel-like properties they have huge stores of within the Soto highlands. Ethermaterial is used very liberally by them.
