It's happening again. I have been visited by a soviet mad scientist, a king, a penguin prince of darkness, a house plant god thing, a mystical ancient member, a tired reaper (thank god) + a greeting.

(following content applies in two sections to the city group, and the last section to the "dragon quest" group, running low on time so proper mentions may come later)

Zargon had almost completed the energy transfer when he felt other entities of demon power arise from all directions. What is this? He was expecting no reinforcements and had left no command along those lines-

Jeltheor. It must have been. Zargon's alliance had obviously paid off, and as it was, he would be able to execute the last portion of his maneuver with much less effort.

With most of his energies contained in the sword, and his physical form currently deserted, damaged and disconnected when his sword hand was cut by a newcomer to the close quarters fight, he would be able to either make an escape or engage using the concentration he had made. He opted the former.

The sword righted itself as it fell to the ground, embedding into cracks in the road. It seemed to absorb the unused shadow being, drawing its energies in through the hilt. It was still for a few seconds.

A bright flash erupted in the ground where the sword was stuck, knocking back all combatants. When the flash died down, only a hole in the stones would remain.

---

Artholath bent his knees to where he almost touched the ground and stepped sideways to just barely miss the retaliation volley. This shouldn't be happening! He knew his prey wouldn't be weak, but he didn't expect the prey to fire balls of energy back.

He saw Ionathan come up to him and pull out a longsword, taunting him to show the what passed for fury in demonkind. Not my target. Engaging the one guard who had not only survived the onslaught, but had actually come up to engage him, would take too long and allow other enemies present to engage as well. He saw shadow beings begin to form ahead of him, engaging combatants that were out of sight to Artholath, but ones that he knew had been fighting Zargon. He took advantage of the following flash to charge into Ionathan's side, attempting to knock him down and sprint towards Genevieve and complete his job quickly and effectively.

---

"Zargon is still on the field, Artholath is missing... I need you to-"

"I am present."

Grhesus dropped the bowl of swirling energies he used to communicate with one of his agents and twirled around, preparing his limbs for attack. In front of him, embedded between the dark red cracks of the castle floor, was Zargon's sword.

Shadows rose from the hilt, slowly forming into a humanoid figure behind the sword. A dark, shadowy hand pulled the sword from the floor with no effort and tucked the sword into the folds of dark energies.

"The enemy is stronger than expected and has resources that I had not anticipated to come into play. I want you to bind an Abyssal and prepare the forces for retaliation."

Grhesus could only stare at Zargon.

"Abyssal? You realize we can't control those things any more than you can control an archangel?"

"Do it, Grhesus. I will gather my energies from the storage places; I will show my demon bretheren I am not to be undone, and I will advance things to the next level.

This is war. War requires risks. I will risk an abyssal.

Also, prepare an extra division of Blood Knights. I wish to cement our relations with Jeltheor.
"

Zargon began to fade out of the room, seeping into faint cracks into the walls.

Grhesus sighed and looked at the ceiling, wondering why he ever joined Zargon, and knowing full well why at the same time.

When the cave's entrance was finally clear of the heros, all was silent.

A hand came over one of the nearby rock formations, pulling up an armored corpse. A zombie, at first glance.

At second glance, the zombie, while not walking perfectly, held itself up quite well and pulled a short sword from a still intact sheathe.

From other nearby formations, other limbs appeared, bringing up other shambling bodies. They moved quickly, settling in position in front of the cave, assuming positions outside the cave, some disappearing behind closer rocks, a few disappearing below random ledges outside the cave. Any who looked out would see nothing.

Above the cave, a shimmering form watched the proceedings. The form was a demon, and the 'zombies' were his elite warriors. It watched with an almost fatherly pride as they assumed their positions as planned. If their skill would not suffice, the total crew of 20 would make up for it.

The demon settled into the rocks, vanishing between cracks, and waited along with its minions.

When its targets came out, it would be ready.

I am far from averse to a medieval fantasy... matter of fact, I've been hunting for one for a while. Closest I've gotten to so far is an as of yet not started greek era Rp.
It appears slowly in front of her, even as the entrance behind her vanishes forever.

"Welcome. You are now here... and now you cannot turn back.

But don't worry, we have a very expansive spam forum fun community to entertain you forever."
With that in mind, have ye a NS I can bite into? :)

Isn't you controlling the assembly a tad unfair, being everybody else gets to control their own nations? Also, please read the link I provided for political parties and the lack thereof in Athens.

I'll give my own input on this;

Athens is already a superpower in the roleplay, and to make a comparison, a single party in Athens is still more powerful than my semi-united nation I have in mind when the Rp starts/nation sheets are made. It solves the problem of one player having a little too much power, and it appears as though it would reduce the confusion compared to two people needing to control the assembly otherwise.

Just my two cents...

Interest is still present.
Unfortunately I'm going to be a little delayed. Suffered some data loss that has resulted in me having only previously made lore, not the IC posts in progress I had planned. My bad, I'll try to catch up on that. I'll give @The Harbinger of Ferocity a window to post and possibly affect the outcome before I roll Zargon, Artholath, a certain new arrival outside the cave and the arrival of another demon in town for the next part in one post.

@IcePezz, anyway, I'm staying.

:)
@IcePezz, @ArenaSnow, Okay...I like this RP, I like the setting, and I like my character. However, this isn't working. I'm only playing a side role in the fight against Zargon, a fight that, while gripping and awesome to read, is, well, mostly fun only for @The Harbinger of Ferocity and ArenaSnow. I mean, I want to interact with PCs and NPCs, I want to do more worldbuilding as regards Giray, as well as take a hand in the aftermath of the battle, like trying to 'influence' who gets to be the new Lord Marshal, or helping keep order in the area.

Problem is, the battle with Zargon's taking too long, and again, I'm only playing a side role in it. It's been literal weeks now, and I only post once every few days.

Add that to the fact that the pace of the RP as a whole has gotten slower, @The Fated Fallen, my PC's best IC friend, is busy most often, and, well, various OOC problems, and well, I'm still interested in this RP, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to wait...

I hope I don't sound rude or fickle.

I do understand your problem.

The fight I do agree has drawn and become a little "neglective" in terms of individuals. I initially intended to wrap up the fight, one way or another, in two posts. I am considering just doing it in one and moving to the next stage.

In this roleplay, I see the retrieval of two keys and possibly a quest in terms of getting the third while having a split deal with problems northwest. I also see the roleplay wrapping up sometime soon. The ones after that I have three concepts, two of which will at least have interaction be necessary for success, particularly with NPC's. Investigation style, if you will, at least for the initial portions; and an element of mystery. Those can only come after this is finished, though, and once I get some details worked out with @Icepezz behind the lines.

At the end of the battle I intend to leave a choice, and the possibility of having two sub-groups come from the one in the city. One of those can involve fixing up the aftermath of the battle and thwarting a demonic attempt of taking control of the city by political means.

In terms of worldbuilding, I'm an advocate of the concept of creating a thread dedicated to compiling lore. So on that note, my advice is to pull what you have together, expand it a bit, and with any luck I can see about trying to put up an additional post with lore, again after a small convo with Icepezz on "what comes next".

Time kills everything. I really hope time won't claim this, and I intend to fight the untimely end of this Rp to the... well, end.
I'm not in it, so I will give the most accurate description as possible while being somewhat vague and general.

It's the site pvp forum. It has its own culture, which you should probably learn if you do get interested, and is a way of "testing" your "text war" skills in a forum atmosphere. There's rankings to it as well for winning, although winning is really a matter of being fair as well as "fighting" well (as far as text goes).

(Do ignore my name. No relation. Well, distant cousins...)
@ArenaSnow, how would that work?

@ArenaSnow @Letter Bee that would actually be cool. .. how would we pull that off?

Through boundless levels of pain and suffering.

But seriously...

I'm not entirely sure. My personal timeline is hopefully wrapping this up mid-December and starting such a split in the new year. I assume it would need a few co-gm's to manage things on an individual basis and no more than two or three at a time to minimize confusion.

To shorten what I have in my mind on the matter, it would basically be a couple of separate roleplays in the same universe with a set of connected "managers" running them. With a possible option of crossing over (although that would have to be done carefully).
