I find the best way to deal with these things is to use a list of mods, save it in a thread (I do it in the testing forum) and just have it ready to copy and paste so I can report folks as needed. Then I can send it to the whole mod team and the spam can be dealt with faster.

I get the feeling Mahz doesn't want to deal with everyone posting thousands of images that rapidly fill up space that was previously pretty well conserved with text.
That's the only problem I see with it, I don't have any complaints with the idea - but I'm not sure the first thing I mentioned is something that can be worked around in this case.

Oh, I forgot to ask. Where is it okay to just jump in and when is it necessary to first ask permission/submit a character?
99% of roleplays need a character/perm to join. But when the exception does happen, just below the title of a roleplay on a page there is Join Status.
If it says Jump-in, then... well, the name says it :)
