Name: Karla Farrokhzad

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance: "Many believe that justice is just a concept, that it does not take a form. That is rarely the case."

Personality: Karla thinks way too hard for a sixteen year old about stuff which should probably wait two years or so. She's an idealist, always more than eager to contemplate and consider the natures of goodness and justice. She's a philosopher and scholar in the making, but this usually leads to her being detached from her young peers - the things which concern her simply don't matter to them. More often than not, she is told that she's wasting her childhood attempting to pursue her philanthropic goals and epistemological interests. These are concerns which she brushes aside.

The Farrokhzad heir presents herself with a sort of majesty only found in royalty, soft and well spoken with a magnanimous feeling to her presence. This is both natural to her and a result of her upbringing in an incredibly affluent household with a public image to maintain. Karla will willingly back up her words when it comes to charity, going out of her way to help others even if it may be less than favourable for herself.

While Karla is definitely a kind girl, almost meek at times, she will quickly switch to becoming a zealous ideologue in the face of perceived injustice and unfair treatment of others. She may not have the physical strength, but she will certainly stand up for others.

This is all well and good, but she often comes across in a manner which could be described as 'holier-than-thou' or condescending - after all, who is she to say if someone needs her help? What does she know what its like to have a hard life? Not much at all.

In short, she's a girl who tries to be far more than just a child, with a strong sense of duty and justice resting upon her shoulders which at times crushes her.

History: The Farrokhzad family has a long and rich history that (supposedly) goes back as far as the late Safavid dynasty. Trade and mercantile work runs in their blood, and their children are taught the trades along side how to walk. In the modern day, the Farrokhzad family own F&H Technologies Incorporated, an international company in the markets of logistics, marketing, shipping and some slightly less savoury trades.

As you can imagine, a girl born to this family might find herself living quite the comfortable life, and that was exactly the case with Karla. Although FHTI and the Farrokhzad family have had some not-quite ethical business conduct and dealings in the past, that was meant to change when Karla eventually took over - that was until she got dragged into a world of Light and Darkness. She's a long way from the skyscrapers and mansions of Dubai, that's for sure, but the people have changed little.

Skills: Lets be honest here, Karla's a massive nerd. She's just a nerd which happened to be born into an incredibly rich family, finding her interests in the likes of mathematics and other forms of academia, taking a particular shining to the philosophical works of John Stuart Mill, Bertrand Russell and Ludwig Wittgenstein. Where she lacks in any physical skills, she makes up for in her intellect and wisdom. As she is a Farrokhzad at the end of the day, she's rather talented at convincing people, having quite the silver tongue when she wishes. Oh, and she's good with horses.

Maou Arts: [Equestrian] [Academia] [Charisma] [Analysis]
The puns begin here.
"Ah, no, see heavy armour won't do you any good! Sell it! Buy yourself lots of rope, chop down some wood, dig up some holes in the earth and make some punji traps. At the least you'll manage to inconvenience it."

Hypatia chuckled at the disappointed looks on the men sat around her, crossing one leg over the other. She sat at the attention of a semicircle of people, men both young and old. She'd arrived in the town a few days prior, taking a few days to scope the area out in relative secrecy, until someone finally identified her this morning. Hypatia the Hunter, A Dragonslayer or some renown, had arrived in their town. Now she was getting questions, all about how one actually deals with dragons outside of being a superhuman Dragonslayer.

"The armor would just hinder you. A dragon is a foe that simply does not care about how heavy a humans armor is, they can crush you with or without it. If anything, it would just make the encounter..."

She paused, her single eye flicking from face to face.

"Drag on."

Silence. Hypatia brought a hand to her chin, eye shut with an all-too proud smile on her face. That pun never got old. As usual, her audience didn't appreciate the comedy gold. She cleared her throat, getting back to the point.

"Humans need to use numbers and smarts to take down a singular dragon. The fantasy of a normal human taking on a dragon with nothing but steed and steel is just that - a fantasy. But that's why I'm here, I guess." The veteran Dragonslayer brought her hand to the back of her head, rubbing her silver hair. The air around her was relaxed, befitting the inn.

Hypatia absorbed herself in the questions and curiosities of the locals, engaging them in casual conversation and trying her best to answer them. She always made a point of getting to know a local populace, to try and steer them in the right directions when dealing with Dragons. Because, at the end of the day, it'd take more than just a few Dragonslayers to completely get rid of the draconic threat in Ahlunda for good. Everyone needed to chip in.
Question! Would any time have elapsed since the player characters were dragged into the fantasy world? Or are we starting immediately after the fact?
Name: Hypatia the Hunter
Age: 34
Gender: Female
Appearance: "Move your quarry, do not be moved by it."

Personality: Hypatia comes across as a polite, well-spoken woman with a wealth of life experience under her belt, and an appreciation for the simpler things in life. She's an incredibly relaxed person, choosing to let the likes of slights and insults slide with very little issue; it'd be petty of her to dwell on such things. Although she seems to take pleasure in telling particularity unfunny anti-jokes, she's good company for a Dragonslayer. This, however, is the lesser known side to Hypatia.

What she is known for being is a sharp and level-headed tactical leader in battle. Hypatia plans steps ahead when facing the likes of a dragon, be it in the short or long term, preferring to win a battle before it actually starts. When in the thick of it, Hypatia keeps a cool head, often barking orders at others while swinging her spear at a dragon. He clarity, intellect and taciturn personality have made Hypatia an invaluable tool against the Dragon threat.

Hypatia has a strong sense of duty towards humanity, a sort of noblesse oblige which she abides to. She does not hunt for money or fame, but merely for the sake of protecting.

Brief Backstory: The early origins of Hypatia the Hunter are well concealed from the curios sort, the result of an active effort on Hypatia's part. Her parents, her home, her childhood; none of that matters, she'd tell them. The earliest records of Hypatia come from a band of Dragonslayers called Lancea, a group she joined in her early teens. Over the next decade, Hypatia slew her fair share of dragons with Lancea, and even quite a few on an individual basis. She was never one to brute-force an encounter, always taking steps towards taking down a dragon before hand. This style of hers earned her the title of 'Hunter' from her fellow Dragonslayers in Lancea, eventually catching on with others through out Ahlunda. By the time she was twenty-one, Hypatia the Hunter was considered a prodigy Dragonslayer - not in body, but mind.

At the same time, Lancea encountered a particularly odd dragon. The dragon, called Fafnir by the locals, harassed the locals of the region with odd demands at the threat of destruction. An entire towns supply of salt, locks of hair from old wives, the mandatory gold. Of course the locals complied, keeping the dragon content to merely reside in its hoard-cave. Lancea moved against Fafnir, intent on removing this dragon from the lands.

This series of events ended poorly for Lancea, resulting in the death of every member other than Hypatia. She emerged from Fafnir's lair, battered and bloodied, with a newly acquired spear in hand.

After the encounter with Fafnir, Hypatia went on to become more of a 'consultant' to local towns and cities in dealing with a dragon threat, as she is of the full belief that Dragonslayers alone will not be enough to put an end to the draconic menace. Although she has taken more of a backline role in the past decade, Hypatia's skills in battle have not dulled - she is still the Hunter, and it would be wise to remember such.

Now, she brings her tactical expertise against the Great Iron Mountain, aiming to remove the draconic threat before it boils over into the surrounding lands.

Abilities: Hypatia's physical capabilities are somewhat lacking in Dragonslayer terms. She's not as fast or power as many of her cousins, but she more than makes for that with her ability to plan. Where most Dragonslayers would rush in and simply try to slay a dragon, Hypatia chooses to be patient with her quarry to learn habits and routines, possible weaknesses and quirks. Only then will she move in for the kill, springing any number of traps and striking hard and fast. She arguably makes the process of dragon slaying more complicated than it has to be at times, but her way undoubtedly produces results.

When Hypatia is in combat, her martial form revolves around exploiting weaknesses and openings and awaiting for them to arise. Her movements with her spear are anything but wasteful, only moving to strike when she feels she can get something out of it, never attacking simply for the sake of doing so. Otherwise, she's a highly agile and defence based fighter.

Equipment: The only time Hypatia wears combat armour is when it's part of some mandatory uniform, otherwise she simply sees no need for it against the likes of a dragon. Unless it's magical, scraps of metal will do little other than help to cook you against dragon fire - or anything else they can throw at you. She chooses to wear a black suit instead.

Hypatia's spear is Volsung, the magical weapon she retrieved from Fafnir's hoard which she uses to bring herself up to par with other Dragonslayers on the field. In combat, electricity courses over the blade, making each blow with it all the more painful. Volsung has the quality of being recallable and dismissable.
Hmm. How intelligent is the average dragon? Are we going with them being more beast-like?
Still here! Will be busy for a week or two come the 27th, though.
Never taken part in a forum RP done like this. Interested!

How would you intend for the optional dice mechanic to work? Would it be vs another dice roll, or would there be a set difficulty which the player would have to roll over?
Down to clown so hard with this idea.
Saber
Barely a moments reprieve - just how Saber liked it. First a rather impressive knight of the Lance, and now a Servant of the Mount answered his call. The unholy-looking knight tilted its 'head' backwards somewhat, its many eyes appraising the new challenger. This man...there was certainly something very powerful about him, more so than what Saber expected from a Rider. It wasn't any definite, a gut feeling if anything, nothing to judge a possible outcome over.

Saber knew this was getting risky. The Servant of the Blade looked to to the bleachers, eyes squinting over at the seated duo. It risked giving away too many of its little tricks, with Aswad Hafiz already out in the open it did not exactly want to give away any more of its tricks. While its identity couldn't be discerned from Aswad Hafiz alone, the full extent of its power wasn't something it wanted to use on the first day.

"A tad late, Rider! I have already fought a servant of the lance. However, I shall respect your acceptance."

It drew its sword from the ground, doing a mental check on its ability to fight. Lancer had put a dent in its personal reserves, but it could still handle one more fight before needing to retire for the night to recharge. It could leave now and prepare for the coming nights...

Ah, who was it kidding. It was going to fight.

"As Servant Saber, I challenge you Rider."

It took up stance, sword before it in a defensive posture, awaiting Rider to make the first move.
