@Fetzen Amam would sooner summon a maggot-beast from the sands of Set than let a normal maggot eat away at him. :)
@Fetzen Heh, Amam doesn't have maggots. That would hurt his body.
@Tombprince Where was Amam mentioned? I don't remember seeing that.

@yoyohayli And now you've given me ideas... :)

A Knight and Her Captain

Athinar

Ao'Drial Relvas, Jerall Miphas

Day 3, Evening

Slowing down as the first song was a bittersweet, melancholy, yet altogether happy song, the two Knights were the center of attention among the dancers, and Jerall loved it, blonde woman smiling and following Ao's lead. The Elf-Djinn was smiling, which was rare. It appeared that the magic of the evening had gotten to him as well. As the first song ended, the two even got applause, after the dancers applauded the wonderful musician. Bowing with smiles on their faces, they waited for the next song to start.

Jerall looked over at Ao, smiling. "You know, Captain... I never would've pegged you for a dancer. You're usually always so grumpy." She nudged him with her elbow as she said this, making sure he knew it was a joke.

Ao shook his head, and offered her his hand as the music began again, which she took. "After four-hundred or so years of living, you learn these things." Raising his eyebrows, he pulled her close to his face, and leaned her over suddenly, whispering in her ear, eliciting a gasp and a blush from Jerall. "And grumpy? I'm hurt, hurt I say."

The second song was a light tune, one that led to many spins and leaps from the dancers. Ao and Jerall weren't the center of attention, rather, two elves which literally danced on air, about two feet above the deck. They didn't feel angry about this at all, in fact, they even went over and personally complimented them. The four dancers then all agreed to dance together to the next song, which was a simple, nice love song.

The dance was shorter than the preceding ones, but it was wonderful. The four traded partners constantly, the male and the female both dancing with Jerall and Ao equally, and once it had finished, they all were smiling and laughing, blonde Elves introducing themselves as Orial and Potemos, twins, and Nephilim, son and daughter of a bloodline descended from Raphael, the Archangel of Air.

Then, the fourth song began. The haunting chords and melody lead to a slow, methodical dance, with many steps to the front, back, and side, while still remaining in the same general area. It was a nice little dance.

On the last one, Ao grinned like a shark. It was time. Although it was played on the violin, Ao recognized the song as a popular club song, which Ao had danced to many times over the centuries. Letting Jerall's hand go with a wink, he said, "I'll be right back. I've just got to school all of these kids." Jerall was somewhat confused, but she nodded and followed him, to see what he was doing.

No one except Ao knew what was coming. As the first few strains rang out across the deck of the ship, Ao just cracked his neck. Looking at him curiously, the crowd didn't know what to expect. Then, he broke out of his stillness, dancing like a king.

The crowd behind him, stunned, did nothing, until Orial, Potemos, and Jerall walked up next to him, and began dancing alongside him. It was like a music video, they were so coordinated. Dancing along with the music until the lovely little lady finished her last note, the four guests laughed, shook hands and hugged. The other dancers let out a cheer, and about a dozen or more people congratulated them on their skill. Pulling away from the group, Jerall and Ao made their way to the stage, looking up at the lovely human girl who was taking her bow.

"That was quite lovely, young lady. Might I have your name?" Ao bowed slightly to the violinist in respect of her masterful performance.

@BeastofDestiny
(Sorry I'm not the best at writing dance scenes. :\)
Chico's sensors began blaring less than two minutes after he began walking towards the bogeys, electric ambiance, thermal, and sonar all began pinging off the charts. Tracking the unidentified movement, he fired, the spread ahead of the bogey. Bullets tearing through the smoke and blazing underbrush towards the enemy, the gunfire acted as a marker towards Chico's position. Good. Let the bastards come.
Athinar raised his eyebrows as she jumped backwards. She had a shield, was she not going to use it? Was she just intent on sticking him with the javelin- oh. Ohohoho. She was magical as well. Not only did she have a shield that could deflect an Adamantine Katana, but there was some sort of red aura coming from her body. Blood magic? Or fire magic? Didn't matter. Athinar had faced countless others like her, in weaker forms, and still won. He'd lost, many more times, but his experience and skill mattered more than raw power.

Dashing forward, he stopped about three feet away, and held the katana with both hands. Thrusting the tip of the blade towards her javelin arm, he tried to bait out a block with the shield. If she blocked, he would summon the Blade of the Void, and grab it with his left hand, transitioning to a Nitojutsu form, or, Two-Sword-Style, he would slash at her elbow from around her shield. However, if she did not block, he would push forward, and try to get within her reach, attempting to run her through the shoulder with the katana.
Yeah, sorry, I keep thinking I have an idea, but then the thread drops to the bottom of my sub box, and I forget. :( Sypher or Cuddle, feel free.
Athinar smirked. "Treasure? Why, the only treasure I wish to find is you, Red." His tone made it clear. He was there to try and kill her. "And Little Red, I'm at war with everyone. Don't feel too special." His creepy, casual manner wasn't an act to try and make her nervous. It was actually how he acted normally.

As she backed up, and prepared her javelin, Athinar would slash his sword at her, still in the sheath, making the thick hard leather, bound in metal, fly towards her helm. It was a distraction, rather than an actual attack. Hoping her eyes would automatically track the sheath, he dashed forward, slashing the katana to the left, horizontally, from the bottom of his ribcage.
@BeastofDestiny Oh, and I'm writing up my post based on the music that you put with your post. FYI, Ao and Jerall will approach your little violinist, so ya know.
So I noticed that quite a few abilities pertain to illusions and manipulation of will. Should I quantify the extent of Amam's power, or should I leave it undefined?

I left it undefined for flexibility and story reasons, but since so many people have mind-affecting magic and enhanced strength/physical abilities, should I define my character's abilities clearly?
