Just came back from being brutally, utterly wrecked at the 2016 Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival. Then nearly going broke after a full day at Disneyland.

Just placed 2nd with my robotics team at our tournament today. Only thing that kept us from 1st place was the dreaded L word: LAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!! T_T

What a day I've had! First a blackout no doubt caused by living near the Super Bowl stadium. Then a logical leap to work on my computer offline, aka clean a bit of dust inside only to nearly break it.

Bio

What's up people, here's my intro, just deal with it. B)

Anyways, this is my first time forum roleplaying, closest thing I've ever done to this would be chatroom Mafia and organizing a Facebook faction page for gameplay, besides IRL PnP RPing. However I'm quite prudent and dedicated to being online everyday just to check for posts and such. I'm also very (overly?) assertive when it comes to dealing with game mechanics and GM rulings, and I will raise issue with the GM when I find one that's loose, unsatisfactory, or missing (I may come off as a harsh critic at times, though offering an assistant GM role would help XD).

From what this site offers, I'm interested in joining up a Free, Casual, or Advanced Roleplay thread. Specifically I'm interested in:
- High fantasy
- Cyberpunk sci=fi
- Deeply conflict driven
- Anything idealist/philosophical bound (then broken)
- Based on character origin/progression
- But I'm willing to try anything else if it sparks my interest!

Kris sighed, the gig was up.

He shrugged and thought-spoke through the cable, "All I know is our opponents didn't act with sentience, and I suspect those Avatars were programmed with AI to execute a counter strategy to whatever Avatar they matched against. I also don't understand how the host client, assuming they were bots, hacked our Neuro Linkers (especially mine behind a backdoor/VPN), forcibly connected us to the global network, and rewrote the code of Brain Burst to allow unfair matching."

"I'm sure you as a Level 5 Burst Linker know about the looser security and termination of patches to Brain Burst, ever since some Japanese player beat the game already, which allowed for any player to download external programs for use in-game, but this is simply unbelievable in scope!" Kris crossed his arms and legs, getting comfortable as he waited to see how the Guardian/Protoge pair would deal with him.
Well...for now I have no personal plot to go on, so you'll have to lead me through your plot.
Well...my RP style is built for the slow burn, FYI, dunno about Caits. I do think however, that unless no players are actively driving their own plot forward, it's best to just let us be, and trust that we'll go back and forth between the main plot occasionally; just shoot a friendly reminder if needed.
Well...if you're going to force the plot along like this, then alright, but 2 things to point out before I roll with this:

1. Time between real life and in game is drastically different, i.e. I could spend 1 hour in game, and only about 1 minute would pass in real life. Our battle was about I'd say 5-10 minutes in game, so...only a few (2-3?) seconds would have passed in real life, not enough time for a person to realize someone was unconscious, not to mention act normally anyways. So @Caits, in a regular, uninterrupted conversation your minuscule lapse could have easily been interpreted as a pause in thought; if you did become unconscious for longer you would most likely have done so on the floor (and so would I).

2. @Jangel13, I understand you have a main plot you want to push forward, and I know I may have taken things off course (if I could retcon my actions from the start I wouldn't have stalked you in the first place), but from my previous experience as an RPer in tabletop games, I've realized only 2 ways to effectively guide players as GM into your plot: 1. create a hook that binds all players together into a single group from the beginning, unlike the open-ended trend I've noticed with most forum RPs; 2. have each player begin open-ended and follow each of their interactions, then subtly tie together the knots into your plot thread, and move forward without seeming to rush or shove players into line. No offense, but I can tell from your last IC post and even your OOC posts that you've been a bit impatient lately; if it's just because of my RP style again I apologize, but at least post in the OOC notifying me first if you want me to move along quickly, maybe a suggestion to ease me in would help greatly; I'm still your co-GM, and personally I think even a regular player has the right to create their own story as long as it can tie into the main plot.

I would've revealed myself in time, but until now I was enjoying playing the anon (maybe a bit god-complex), that you 2 could attempt to figure out and deal with as a side objective, so meh...that's done for. XD This is why we need more players...
Sorry, Labor Day weekend was busy for me.
Kris counted down the time in AR, as he'd memorized the time conversion rate between AR and RL. After 30 seconds IRL with no reaction, he warped out for the last time, just as Lily let out a sigh and stretched. "Well, seeing as you're apparently stretched for time, I suggest starting with the most recent section your teacher has taught you, and then work backwards on the same chapter," stated Kris, while raising his eyebrow.

He then noticed Angelo enter the school building, and kept his eyebrow raised in surprise, as Angelo continued to walk towards Kris and Lily. This is either way too easy, or game over for me, thought Kris. As Angelo opened the door, Kris tried to relax and beckoned Lily to follow him, hoping to let Angelo deal with the head tutor instead. But hearing Angelo's question nearly made him jump out of his skin...
Kris wasn't even following real time. The instant he came back to reality, he whispered, "Physical Burst." Kris warped back to Augmented Reality, and watched patiently for Lily's reaction, while he pondered the events that had just transpired...
Kris raised his eyebrows at the number of BP he'd just received, but he wasn't going to complain. He lowered himself to the ground, catching his breath. Now for the hard part, thought Kris. The instant his body warped out of Augmented Reality and back to Real Life, he had to use Physical Burst in anticipation of his confrontation with Lily...
@Jangel13 Yeah, sorry, I get it, but you seemed a bit impatient with your earlier replies.
@Jangel13 LOL yep. Because you wanted to move on. And they probably weren't the chatterbot sort.
