Name: Carva Attania Nickname: Just Carva or Carv if you're that fucking lazy.... Age: 18 Gender: Female Powers: Carva is what is known as a "Atema des Nichtons" or simply a "Atema". It came thousands of years ago from the depths of the dark forests of central Europe. The translation is of older Germanic origin meaning "The breath from nothing" The magic's true origins is unknown, but the aura they seem to generate usually disturbs and is unnerving to people who can sense it. Nobody is sure what to truly classify it as since there are rarely any Atema to begin with. Whatever they may be, the few facts that remain are that they can be highly dangerous, deadly individuals who exhibit a frighteningly flexible form of magic. Carva has yet to fully uncover the extent of her abilities. The ones listed are the few she has figured out so far she has. -Hantuia- This is the magical ability to phase from one spot to another without making a sound, usually instantly. Hantuia's effectivness is dependent on two factors, first and foremost is the awareness of the victim. The user of Hantuia can phase right up next to someone so long as they are literally out of sight. If the victim keeps their eyes fixated on the user, the user can not phase very close to the victim. However, this can vary due to factor number two, skill level. A highly skilled user of Hantuia can phase out of sight of the victim and simply keep phasing until they are right behind the victim. However, Carva is still fairly a novice at this new found ability, and thus her phase abilities do not allow her to travel longer distances nor through solid objects as well as practically nullified if spotted by the victim (Still pretty freakin terrifying). Often when she phases, it looks as if she turns to ash then vanishes. -Leereva Atema- A magical ability that manipulates the air around her, causing a pressure wave that can knock down or even crush foes. A strong user of the ability could smash victims to pulpy bits by blasting them against walls with this "Death's Whisper" ability. Carva could knock you off your feet, but not much else. Though she never really uses it as an offensive type of magic. By manipulating the air to some degree, she can boost her jump height and length slightly (only a foot or two for now, as she is still experimenting), increasing her options when parkouring. - Atemzügeer Günstling- The magical ability to summon forth a dark fog. This dark fog engulfs the victim it is caste on and consumes the victim until he/she is nothing but a bloodstain on the ground. The various factors of how the victim consume and how fast is determined based on how skillful the user is with the ability. The higher the skill, the more control the user has over the dark fog. Unlike Carva's other abilities.... she has practically mastered this one. Her fog could devour only your skin if she so desired. It is by far one of the most shocking and cruel powers she possess, something she seems to always hide... Skills: She is highly athletic due to her love for parkour. She can easily climb up buildings, preform graceful maneuvers in mid air and generally move swiftly compared to your average Joe... which ain't sayin much when she attends a school with a hidden side for magical and supernatural humans and beings. However, she is no athlete, thus doesn't compete in any official capacity nor enjoys watching/playing sports all that much. If you were to ask Carva, the answer would be simply: "It's good exercise and a lot of fun!" While not highly academic, she's still pretty smart. Or more accurately put, she is someone with an open mind who is more than willing to learn something new, a skill not many seem to learn or use. Now then, killing peo- I mean "Self Defense!". A personal favorite of Carva! (I mean she mastered summoning man eating fog christ sake, what do you think this girl is into? Cooking?). Now she isn't some sort of psycho killer who loves to watch people die painful deaths (OR IS SHE!?), but if one were to observe her fighting style... let's just say she takes no prisoners. It would be a strange mix of similar fight training you could read in FBI handbooks and special operation manuals, both of which focus on "Immobilizing" the opponent. This usually gives her a clear advantage over anyone who focuses on Martial Arts as it no sort of rules, codes, or training holds her back. Bullies don't get sent home with a black eye, bullies get sent to the hospital with 8 months of both physical and mental therapy of recovery..... Just don't fuck with her. (NOTE: While I reference that her style takes from that used by Spec ops guys, I'm not sayin she was trained by soldiers or some super bullshit, just that it is much more practical based survival fighting as opposed to conventional form based fighting styles) Hobbies: Parkour, video games(preferably strategy), aerospace stuff, and stargazing. Personality: Carva is a straight forward, open type of girl who is generally good natured and friendly to most. She can be a good friend to have, someone who will back you up, or simply pick you back up, prop you on your feet, and send you the right way. This is all very odd, given the nature of her abilities and her... bloodthirsty magic type, but she seems to take it in stride. At her core, she is a skeptical person, always asking questions, never taking things to be as they are. However, if anyone pays attention, they may see something. Some tragic sadness that hovers over everything she does or says. Maybe its the look in her eyes or the way she carries herself. Whatever it may be, nobody can shake the feeling that there is some sort of sad little girl, hidden by that friendly grin. Background: Not much could be found on her. Some say she had a family at one point, but something happened and now nobody can find who her true parents were. There was one document, a medical report from a hospital revealing she has a sister, but there is yet to be any other confirmation of that. For now we shall just watch her, and see what she has to reveal. If anything, she seems to be attending this school to find out if she's the only Atema currently out there right now... Theme song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tcuohkQzOI Clubs: Aerospace Club Dreams: "In my dream... I smell pancakes... I'm in a kitchen, sitting at a table. A woman stands at the stove. She says something, but I can't make it out.... And I see someone.... I think I see someone.... These things, none of it for me. I'm moved by the screams inside of me. Among the demons of men..."
As I read I do accept her, do be careful though with the last power though it seems quite...scary.. Also her fighintg style damn girl you be tough. Ava I think is accepted ^^ Welcome to the family
Awesome! I shall post my CS in the character section. So.... any thoughts on how I could start? Sort of a bit lost atm. (power reading through the IC to catch up currently)
I do enjoy eyeball eating darkness. Wait, no I don't, I enjoy puppies. I get those confused all the time. Oh good, one more creature of Darkness to be Influenced by Lisa's power. Just so you can catch up with this a bit, Ava, Lisa has so far exhibit several powers that mark her as supernatural, but she hasn't noticed yet. 1. Lisa is almost immune to powers that effect the mind, and partially immune to drugs. This is exhibited by her immunity to Cleo's hatred aura (she still hates him, just for her own reasons), Becky's lust aura and Ev's mind reading. She'll be immune to the effect that makes people not want to hang around Carva, so they can be friends (YAY FRIENDSHIP). 2. Lisa becomes almost invisible in shadows. Even people standing right next to her lose sight of her if they look away. This can be broken if the person looking at her focuses hard enough, or if she speaks. 3. Lisa has some control over Creatures of Darkness, specifically she can instill certain emotions into them when she speaks sometimes. So far all she's used is Fear (Indicated by the purple text).
Dat magic! Anything else I should be caught up about?
Right then! CS has been revised and her powers have been changed around a bit more, including name changes, specfic details adjusted, and a new darkness that can eat your eyeballs out! :D Carva's powers 2.0!
I will, don't worry. Ugh, my desire to write is unfathomable
Good day or night peeps! I've reformed the first two powers of Carva. They are still similar to the original ones, but with name changes and a much different focus. Particularly the Hantuia which is derived from both the germanic and english version of "haunting". Much like the name is, the ability is much more stalking focus than simple teleportation, boosting the creepy factor ten fold! XD Still working on the third power on how I can rework some of it to be better fitting with the new theme I have in mind.
*readies NK shooting rifle* Wait, it wasn't NK this time... I can't use this. *Covers the word NK on the Rifle with tape and writes Ava in sharpie* Much better. *takes aim*
Sir! Another Pun has been loaded! Image form, high explosive! FIRE!
.... God dammit... You could say NarayanK is just... monkeying around:
This is the daily routine of our group so might have to get used that....maybe...
It will be hard for me to adjust and fully emerse my self in the strange, randomness of the internet. But I think I'll manage... ANYWAY GUYS! I NEED MAH SLEEP! SHUSH!!!
.... God dammit... You could say NarayanK is just... monkeying around:
Unless you mean it just makes people not want to be around her, because we already have a character like that and he's currently trying to rape his roommate. (I don't know why, I haven't been paying attention to that)
...rape? Not to the extent that people don't want to be around her. All they get is a strange, unnerving aura if they can sense it. More like her powers and her hidden history build her to be a psycho killing machine but she is trying, hopefully not in vane, desperately to not become that. A rational mind existing in an irrational body, trying tirelessly to fight nearly uncontrollable urges and thoughts from taking over. I'm gonna sleep on it and keep toying with the ideas so far... Night!
I will politely decline to adjust my tone for my job, for several reasons. I talk like this when I might become emotional because it's infinitely better than yelling and screaming, and provides a possible basis for continued civil conversation. People can change, but I'm coming up from rock bottom and Rome wasn't built in a day. I have been nothing but cordial, and have carefully selected my words. It's the content of the phrases I use, not the phrases themselves that are at fault, and the content will not change no matter how I sugarcoat it. My job here is to be the strong arm, not to be liked. If people want to like me because of who I am when I'm not doing my job, that's fine with me, but I cannot point out people's flaws without being at least a little "mean". Finally, anybody who gets angry enough at my criticism to quit outright probably isn't worth the effort to play with. A good RPer can adapt to any situation in or out of character. This is the internet, people get angry. Obviously because Ava is countering my points with her own points (swearing nonwithstanding), She is of the type who can not only adjust to it, but give as good as she gets instead of simply giving up. I respect her quite a bit for that.
That said. *falls out of asshole mode* You, Ava, are an amazing person and the only person so far (including the GM) who hasn't gotten mad at me because of my tone. I love you stay with us forever.
Incase my Edit goes by unnoticed; @Avalant "Hm... How about, instead of focusing more on Carv's (yes im fricking lazy screw you all) magic potential, you could perhaps focus on allowing her to mix some elements of her parkour abilities and her magic abilities. Or perhaps make her parkour abilities themselves strange! For example, you could let her sort of slither through walls that people would normally be unable to parkour through with her own summoned rats. Personally, mix-and-matching existing powers can actually bring out really weird stuff... and sometimes, really rare gems."
Well after finding suitable name changers, I got some ideas for involving around idea of "The Breath from nothingness". The whole creepy chill ya get, like something is breathing down your neck... but when you look behind you there's nothin there... Or something along those lines. Her powers are to be a juxtaposition to the way she wants to act. But I like your idea a lot too... hmmm....
