It's fascinating that performing math is used as a mating call for some deep dwelling creatures.
Carefully,
They bounce their feet
Practiced steps
To compete

Artfully,
Not so discreet
Practiced words
Practiced speech

Squeeze the syllables
Jump the moon
Fight the monsters
Gloom, Doom, Doom

Slow down time
Tell a story
Your finger fall so slowly
It's ugly
Gory

Turn away and hide your scratches
Don't dare say what's out of fashion
If this game is not your sport
Scratch in symbols, bend, contort

Learn to love your bumps and bruises
Most won't find them so amusing
Search the stars for another
Find a sister, find a brother

Minor league still brings completion
The same game for the exact same reason
Less than perfect isn't deadly
When you're in a misshaped medley
when you could react in an unexpected way?

Fuck it, go anyway. YOLO.

It's a sort of private event. Though they are just going to do it at the local game store. Either way, it's impossible for me to force my way in.

Edit: getting in the building is not the problem.

I haven't felt this excluded since highschool.

I've learned not to care about everyone else's little social circles in the world.

Soon there will be a local, small "event" for a Magic thing that I'm going to be excluded from. There are two conditions that make this one suck.

1.) I really want to do it.

2.) I'm being excluded because of supposed skill level.

Those are the real bummers.

But I am good enough!

Really!

They don't know!

But I am good enough tho. I place ALL THE TIME and win plenty.

Fuck.

Part of me is starting to want to be excluded so that I can try to beat them at the next open event out of spite.
Slutty timing.
Timing.
This thread made me lose my job :(
A lot of strong opinions.

I'll say one positive thing and then leave you be.

The writing and characters were extremely believable. Its main strength is that its dialogue and story felt real, or at least real for its own quirky universe. It was never abruptly interrupted by standard movie story cues. It threw out the formula.

It felt more like I was peering into a different reality than watching a movie.

That was also it's weakness. Most people want the "movie" ending. Most people want it to be more clean cut.
