In fact, I'm certain many people aren't conscious of this sort of thing.

If you've ever choosen to go against the grain in any way, for some contrived reason, then you're a hipster.

Prefer lesser known music, movies, books, or video games? Hipster.

Doing anything for the sake of being unique? Hipster.

The hipsters we know as hipsters today are actually just fashion hipsters. Some people can be double-hipsters.

My point was that, on a species-scale, everything besides humans might be doomed.

I don't actually support senseless animal killing.

Ethics is winning.

Ethics only started when we as a species decided that we were satisfied being the way we are. We liked life, so we didn't want to see others not enjoying their life.

We started holding ourself back and lost power.
