Arina Mifune - Shikatsu (師勝町)

The intercom called for her name and the medicine, and after retrieving her mother pinkeye medicine she got another text. Mom wants her medicine ASAP. Arina ignored the text for it annoyed because of “Mom.” Either way she was glad her trip to the city was finished and she exited out of the pharmacy. Arina was walking over to the nearest bus stop. Checking the schedule of bus arrivals online…she was going to be late.

Stepping into overdrive mode, she was fast walking down the boulevard to reach the bus stop at the borders of the suburbs. It made her, noticeable because of that but also because of her outfit (obviously). Her brown skin and her blue eyes, rare for an Asian person made her stand out walking down the boulevard. She checked her phone again, noticing the time, the bus would arrive now. She picked up the pace walking harder, and less gracefully holding her mother’s medicine in a plastic bag.

With so much focus on reaching the bus stop, she did not notice her surroundings and bumped into a man that towered over her short physique but she did not stop, “Sorry about that” as she moved to the side as she said hastily but then tripping, falling face first into the cold hard pavement.

“Don’t give me that wry expression, god I can’t believe an old man could kick so hard.” After collecting herself for a few minutes, “Alright, the don does need to be watched after all.” After Beryl left, Vega then slumped him over her shoulder, and found an abandoned building. She laid him down on the floor, and rested on a wall. That is until she slapped the unconscious bastard in the face as revenge for kicking her in stomach, she simply rested on the wall, watchful of her surroundings.

Arina Mifune – Uchima Senior High School

That’s fucking stupid. School is over! Arina bowed, “Alright.” She swiped the detention slip from the teacher’s hand, reaching behind, placing the slip into her bag and left. As her journey to the parking lot neared the end, the detention was in her mind, how stupid it was for her to get a detention for this. Of course rules were rules, this was not America were it was common for students to question the authority of teachers. Though she should have kept her uniform on, but she realized that but her ego scoffed at the thought of that.

And she made her trip into the city.

Arina Mifune - Shikatsu (師勝町) - A Pharmacy in the City

After that hour of shopping for groceries, now it was time for his mother’s medicine. The dreaded Pinkeye was it, for her mother’s prescription was ready at the local drugstore. It was a large pharmacy and was equitable to CVS Pharmacy or Rite-Aid back in America. Though it did not have a lot of people when she originally entered, a few customers shopping around, employees stocking merchandise, it was quiet, which was somewhat odd at first but the she liked it as she sat on a chair near the pharmacy counter. She scrolled through her Instagram, looking at her friend’s photos with harmony, waiting until the intercom call for her mother’s medicine.
Are keeping up with the debates? The Duterte vs. Roxas was cringe worthy.

Arina heard a noise, it sounded like some sort of ruckus that the teachers would sort of. Her phone then rumbled in her pocket, taking it out and it saw a message, Mom wants groceries…NOW. She also needs her medicine from her pharmacy as well! I am literally copying over what she said to me and she won’t be happy if you’re late… And then there was a list of groceries and her medicine. But then she heard noise, the voice of a teacher as she just began walking again after hearing whatever noise that was. Detention are you serious?

Arina turned to the authority, impatient though that could not be seen. “I am not causing any harm am I” she said with a neutral tone but perplexed expression, “School is over today, everyone is leaving.”

Now then, how to get out of this as Arina stared neutrally at the teacher who thinks she is some delinquent. She had to play cool, her sassiness was activating… “Sensei, I need to get back home, my…mother she needs her medicine from her pharmacy, and I need to buy groceries as well” as during that sentence her voice became sympathetic and her eyes dropped, and gave a small frown. “Please…I don’t deserve this.”

Oh but did she hate uttering the word "mother."

Wot you say?!
Arina Mifune

“It’s just like back in the states” she said in English.

“Yup, classmate disappears, becomes gossip around school etc…except it’s highly unlikely that the school president would vanish” replied Arina hastily while cleaning her Alto Saxophone while talking to a friend also from the states. Music rehearsal was finished, everyone was chatting up others staying or leaving.

“Usually you would see it as delinquents, or the students of a lower status that would disappear” replied another friend from the states. The two were also international students and it was not common for Arina to talk to them in English instead of Japanese.

“True” as she wiped her wet reed with a cloth, cleaning both sides. There was no time to wash it for the bell was coming.

“Hey Arina, have you been getting-” and then her phone beeped. “…forget it some other time. My parents are here to pick me up for my doctor appointment. See you later.”

The two walked off as the other waved a goodbye as she did to as she put in a black cloth with a string through her Saxophone body, holding it carefully, it upside down, and pulling the cloth through the bell. She put all the parts in her case and placed it into her music locker

Arina Mifune looking obviously like the American she was, walked through the hallways carrying a backpack and a purse. The attire was reasonable for the weather as it was similar to what you find in the Bay Area. The stares, mutters of students whether what level they were always gave her attention especially how she was wearing those shades while walking through the halls but she did not really mind it. It was her big fuck you to the uniforms policy she despised, that she had since she returned to Japan.

She was bound to walk, or encounter someone but she was in urgency, she wanted to go home.
