"No! Please!" the girls voice rang out again, as if doing so would change anything this time.
"You call yourself a daughter?" he hit her again, on the face instead of the arm this time.
She had accidentally broken a cup while making dinner for her step-father. Her mother did nothing to help, like always, and just cowered from him and soaking up the gladness that it wasn't her body he was hitting this time. The girl's name was Delilah, she was just one year shy of moving out and starting a new life, but she didn't know if she could take it any longer. Her father died when she was five, and her mother has been with many men, but for eight years this was one that didn't leave soon after they found out she had kids. He turned out to be abusive, in more ways than one, and her mother was too weak to be left alone again.
So that was her life for now. She didn't know what to do or where to run, she felt helpless. Then it hit her, Where to run? she thought to herself one night after being disturbed by the sick man, Just run. Delilah promised herself that if it ever happened again, she would save herself.

Hello there, Plightz! First, I'm going to comb over the character a little, but even so, I don't know if I'll take another. We shall see. Please don't take offense to this, I'm just trying to help!
First of all, the background is a bit shotty, as you mentioned. I found it a bit hard to follow, although it could work well with some work. Feel free to edit your post, perhaps consider a more linear line and checking to make sure it all fits together.
Secondly, what kind of battle training? Karate, front-line style? This adoptive, battle-master father adopted a teenager? It seems to be a bit clunky.
As for gear, it looks good around there. Also personality works as well ^_^

Before we begin, I must say that you look smashing today. And also I'm new at this 1x1 thing. Well I used to RP with one of my friends and we made a whole world, so I guess that's what I'm looking for. I want to breathe life into the play, and add in things whenever it feels right, not strict on number of characters or anything. Pretty chill, really.
I have ideas on some things, but honestly I'll RP anything.
I would like to play a girl, but it doesn't matter cause gender, to me, is null. You can be male, female, both, neither, whatever you feel like. You don't even have to be human.
I usually post a paragraph, even two. As long as you get your point across well and vividly, I'm cool. I have a problem with summarizing a little too well, so I know how it is.
Anyway, we can do the public forum thingy as opposed to pm, if that's alright with you. If not, that's fine too.
As for the RP itself, I have ideas for short ones that can change after they get boring, or long ones with quest and such.
Some ideas (If I'm interested more on one end of it than the other, I'll put a *. Eg: I prefer girl, *Girl x Cupcake (wouldn't that be interesting?) )
