Current I'm more like a synthetic death machine alien boy cat with minor delusional worship of sophisticated stories of young murder and violent love...Issues. Lot's of issues.

Bio

'Ello folks! The name is Azena (Ah-zae-nuh). I'm a 26 year old man in EST (GMT -5, I believe). I've been role playing for over 10 years. I took a break from the Guild when I found a tabletop group to join with. I used the chance to improve my role playing and take on new concepts. Happy to report, I learned absolutely nothing! Nah, just kidding. I opened up and took on characters of different genders, orientations, and personalities. I've missed the friends I made here and am happy to be back and make some new ones as I try to track down my old ones.

I like the cooperation and connection on 1x1 RPs. Group just tend to move too fast for my frequency on this site. I at least try anything besides a modern slice of life game. I don't need to role play real life, I get more than enough of it off the computer. Tolkien Fantasy and Space Sci-Fi are sure hits with me, but I've also enjoyed apocalyptic, westerns, and modern magic.

Isabel helped Ryder leaning against the wall. He slowly slid down and let his legs stretch out. His feet splashed up so water, or he hoped that's what it was. Above them, the grate was being grinded against the rocks and back into place. A second later and the Khajiit dropped down from the ladder. He sparked up a torch and the dark tunnel flared into life. Rats fled from the unnatural light and steam appeared from around the torch.

"Not safe here. Guild not far. We go now." Isabel frowned at the suggestion. She knew the others needed rest, but the cat was right. The sewers may have saved them from Alex, but who's to say he wouldn't search them? Who's to say he didn't have eyes in the city that saw them come down? They had to keep moving. Isable knelt down and put Ryder's arm around her shoulders. She stood him up and followed as the Khajiit started down the tunnel.

"Come on. We can rest when we're safe. Blake, help her." Isabel suggested as she marched Ryder past the kids. Her eyes shifted at every turn of the tunnels. There was more than rats in the tunnels and she wasn't about to be caught off guard. She noticed a white marking on the wall. It was a circle with a triangle attached. It formed a sort of arrow that pointed right, the path the Khajiit took. They're guild markings, so that guild members could easily find the hideout.
No it's fine. When I get a chance, I'll put up Rumple's shop which will include things like silver-tipped arrows to help you be more effective in the hunt. If we decide later that there are useful magic you can learn then we can look at it.

@Wonder, Who ever gets on it first. Ellie is my character and Snow is just an NPC. In case I wasn't clear, Briar Rose is the one that Snow just brought in. Red can also post since Snow called her out. The only person I wasn't sure what to do with was the Huntsman. So any can post now.

My only rule on posting is no double posts and no extensive (1+ pages) of 1x1 back and forth.
Now :) Sorry it took me so long, but I got the IC post up. Split it with some more intro information to set up the scene, of course the italics are like a narrator thing. Merlin talking to us players, none of our characters would know that part about Mal. So feel free to post and we'll get underway.

Jolly, I know you're knew to this type of playing, so just ask me if you have any questions.

Valeric, I wasn't sure if Devin would be a new recruit with Briar Rose or if he'd be in the Guild Hall training or something. So I didn't set anything up for you. Feel free to just jump in with whatever he's doing, or come out of the rain if you're going to be a new recruit. You can ask me if you need to bounce ideas off of me first if you're not sure.

I also bumped the Interest Check threads so hopefully that will pull in a couple more players.
For as long as I can remember, we have been been at war. No, that's not true. There was a brief time when all came to existence. The others and I lived in peace. Even the Wolf stayed his distance. Peace faded away when Maleficent became tired of our ways. I believe she was jealous and lonely. After all, everyone came to see me and ask for advice. She is just as powerful as I and yet she remained alone in her dark castle. Whatever the case, Mal came with a force unlike any we had seen before. Where she found them, I may never fully understand. Creatures of dark magic. Soulless beings cast their shadows over the land and the Kingdom fell into fear and chaos.

That was a long time ago. We never managed to stop Mal and her forces. As time has gone on, my friends have grown old or died, but their legacies haven't. I've kept a close eye on their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Their bloodlines are special. They are talented fighters, skilled magicians, and some even have more...unique abilities. My research has also managed to find new bloodlines with desired qualities. You see, these are my soldiers. My only hope of ever bringing peace back to the world. My only hope to get my son back.

Most of them are young and brash, but they have loyalty. They know why it is that I send them into danger. They know that the evil in the shadows must be dealt with. With proper training and encouragement, they might just become the Hunters that I need them to be. With the love and support they receive, they might end up calling Kingdom Guild their home. I fear that something is coming. Something that they are not yet ready for. I only hope when the time comes, that we will all know what to do.

The Kingdom Guild, tactfully hidden away in the back rooms of the popular brothel, Beauty, houses a number of talented warriors. The brothel itself is not very high end, but is also no poor man's adventure. Beauty is more of a local attraction, bringing in men from Golden City and lonely travelers that pass through. Sometimes the customers catch sight of men and women dressed in strange attire and brandish weapons of all sorts walking around the brothel. The companions have been taught not to talk about it as most aren't skilled enough to come up with a convincing lie. Those that can make up stories about travelers, guards, or just future employees they're considering. The later often sparks curiosity and prompts more questions. If you can manage to get past Paul, the over-sized bouncer at the door, you find a whole nother world in the Guild Hall.

The atmosphere is similar to an inn and tavern, with a wide variety of individuals engaged in activities. The bar is always stocked and run by a burly man named Woody. Don't cause any problems in his tavern, if you know what's good for you. He keeps his ax sharpened and tucked away under the counter. The other notable piece in the main tavern is the Contract Board. Nobody really knows where most of the contracts come from. They just kind of appear when nobody is looking, but occasionally Snow or another member can be seen tacking one up. The later event involves contract with low pay, but are considered favors for the posting member. Of course, this is just the beginning of the Guild.

From their, multiple doors provide exits to different wings of the building that include individual rooms for the Hunters, training grounds capable of practice for a large assortment of skills, an extensive Guild Library managed by Belle, and of course a Supply Shop run by Rumple. It's said the little goblin can get you anything you need in the world. Careful, if it isn't currently in his shop, he tends to charge more than money for it. Some members would say that whatever you need can be found in Kingdom Guild, but if it can't then you'll have luck in Golden City.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The door to the brothel bust open with a crack of lightning and thunder blasting from outside. The rain poured down and drenched the pale-skinned woman standing outside. Snow hated getting caught in heavy rain. She was drenched and probably looked a hot mess. She could feel her jet black hair matte down around her face and neck. That's what she gets for being the guild babysitter. They find a new recruit and Merlin volunteers her to go and grab them. The customers had been intrigued by the random burst of excitement, but the regulars knew to go back to their business when Snow entered and scoffed at them. The water dripped down onto the wooden floors and carpets as she marched into the center of lobby area and just stood there. She spun around to look at her charge. It actually brought a smile to her face.

The young woman's dark blonde hair was matted just like Snow's, the makeup ran down her face, but her skin seemed to just be glistening with the water droplets. She was the definition of hot mess, but Snow didn't much like snooty nobles. This girl was a bit of a brat and it made Snow rather happy to see her in such a state. She turned back around and spotted Lady Jane, the mistress of the brothel. She gave Snow a disgusted look. This was no regular brothel. The whores were not called such, but referred to as companions. Jane ran a different kind of business and she had her own form of class. Snow looked around and hollered.

"Red! Get out here and clean up this mess!" Her tone wasn't mean or angry. It was demanding. Snow carried authority in Kingdom Guild and sometimes she let that get to her head. The door behind the front desk started to open. Paul stepped aside, knocking over a lamp that had been resting on the end table next to him. A woman with blonde hair up in a ponytail. She walked out, the weight of her wing-hilted sword causing the sheathe to bounce around against her hip. She walked right up to stand next to Snow and frowned at the sight. "What is it, Ellie?"

"Just making sure you don't give my hunter too much trouble. That and I hate when you pick on Red." Ellie caught a glimpse of the pretty young maid entering the room. Snow found her about two years ago. Due to Red's unique conditions, only contained by the strong magic in a silver collar she wore, Snow always gave the poor girl a hard time. It didn't really matter how hard Little Red tried. Snow always saw the beast within people. "Jane has four other maids you can call on. Try bothering one of them next time."

Ellie ignored Snow's attempt at a rebuttal and stepped towards the drenched girl. "My name is Ellie, I'm sure you have a lot of questions. There will be plenty of time to answer them, but what do you say we go back and get you dried off? Oh, and Red when you finish out here, Merlin asked you to come back with me."

"What?!" Snow piped up. She looked over the maid and sighed. She couldn't believe they were really going to let her out on the field. It was like taking a rabid dog off the leash in a public park. "He can't actually be considering..."

"Just relaying the message. So, Red can come back with us when she's ready."
Bump We are still open and recruiting, plenty of popular character choices are still available!
Bump! We are still open and recruiting in the OOC link
Ya, I'll still be running it. We should have 4 or 5 players still. I was hoping to get the IC up today, but it likely won't happen. Best bet will be Sunday or Monday.
It would be in the next couple of days, but i suppose you'll be leaving us?
The character sheet for your Guild Mentor that I'll be playing for the first part of the game.

Full Name: Cindy Swan
Alias: Ellie
Age: 27 now, entered at 16
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Homeland: Boston, Massachusetts
Appearance:

Languages: English and Beast-tongue
Height/Weight: 5'9" and 124 lbs
Outfit/Armor: In the Appearance pic.
Hunting Gear: Her father's sword, given to her by Merlin: Longsword with an elegant feather design on the hilt (partially scene in the appearance pic)
Likes/Dislikes: Likes animals, swordplay, and justice. Hates the dark, especially around midnight, pumpkins, and magic users.
Occupation: Cindy was a housekeeper and cleaned up after a few families. She misses the kids she used to take care of.
Skill Set: Cindy has a friendly face that people tend to trust, over the years she's come to handle her father's sword like an extension of her own arm, she has a good sense of direction and is an excellent leader, a feature Merlin recognized when he made her the official recruit trainer.
Magic Abilities: None, she actually doesn't trust magic and stays away from it when possible.
Pets/Companions: Cindy's knack for communicating with animals allowed her to befriend the rat that pestered the guild for years. He now travels with her everywhere and is a helpful recon/spy.
Personality: Cindy is loyal and values honesty and justice above all else. She is much like Snow in this manner, but their methods contradict each other. Cindy is much calmer when it comes to liars and injustice. She has a tactical mind that proves invaluable on a hunt. Her dedication to the guild and it's members made her the perfect choice for an official trainer.
Background: Cindy has been a loyal member of Kingdom Guild for over a decade. She dabbled in witchcraft in her home in Boston, but a spell to find her one true love backfired. The spell imploded and destroyed the house, killing her parents in the process. Cindy was barely alive when the police found her. After that, she swore off magic, throwing away the old book. She started cleaning houses and nannying children to provide for herself. After a few years, there was a knock on the door near midnight. A pale-skinned woman with ruby red lips and pitch black hair offered a job.

Every ounce of Cindy's being had a bad feeling as the woman insisted she accompany her immediately to the brothel. However, business was slow and Cindy couldn't afford to be stingy. It was then that she was introduced to the Guild. She spent the next year cleaning the filthy brothel. Unable to leave and only catching glimpses of the illusive Guild that remained behind closed doors, she felt like a prisoner. When she turned 18, Snow took her to the Guild Hall and her new family. She also handed over her father's sword, claiming that he was once a member of the Guild. Cindy worked hard and learned fast. In a few short years, she became one of the top members of the guild. "A real natural" they'd say. She holds the Guild and her family to heart and smites anything that threatens them.

Unique Abilities: Overall, Cindy is just a regular maid that learned the skill of a sword. However, she does poses the uncanny trait of Beast-tongue, or the language of animals. It sounds like English to the rest of us, but animals accurately understand her and communicate with her. This allows her to gather information that others can not obtain as well as get assistance from unlikely places.
That's fine, I may start this soon so the other members don't lose interest. The way this RP will play out really allows for any number of players to join whenever they want so don't worry about hurrying the apps or feeling like you can't join once I start it.
