Can I become a Rune Duck?

the most important part tbqh familia
@Shorticus Ok, fabuloso
@Shorticus Great! Then Dunlad would like to make a sacrifice to Luigibad this turn in the hopes of making sure this first harvest in Hidden Valley is a good one.
My first class was cancelled. I have time to post, and I'm working on the IC post now.

So, below this line is a list of all the actions I noticed you folks wanting to do this turn. I've made a couple notes here and there.

@Jangel13's character is building traps this turn and is using 25 goods to do so.

@Wernher is having Eliz lead an adventuring party alongside another clan if possible, potentially the Stormcallers. This will require a test of diplomacy and some deal-making. I'll be sending you a PM about this tomorrow, Wernher.

@Lauder Serheim is off on a diplomatic mission to see the Gearalti, hopefully to establish trade. He's bringing a token amount of goods as a gift.

@Eklispe Titania is going to be training some of the youths in warfare this turn. Presumably, old Fintan will be helping.

@Tracyarmav's character, Domagoj, is creating alchemical products to help keep the crops healthy. I'll send you a PM about this tomorrow, Tracy. Since you're not mass producing this stuff, it's not going to cost any goods.

I think these are all the actions you folks discussed. Let me know if I'm wrong.

@Eklispe mentioned wanting to use the favor owed to you by Clan Cinaede to make sure Clan Nightfell doesn't pull anything as you're exploring. Did you folks want to go ahead and arrange that?

How do sacrifices work, by the way? For instance, if Dunlad were to decide to sacrifice a few heads of cattle to Luigibaid to better our chances, would that work out?

Dunlad eyed the alchemist up and down, reevaluating her. He had never been one to lend much credence to the words of the gods, although he gave his respects where they were due. He had sat many a time, on the cool earth as the orange-cast sky cooled to twilight, contemplating the winking stars and wondering (for he knew, as did all, that they did exist), if they really bothered themselves with the supplications of the kerns in the fields just as much as the brawny gallocmen who won glories in their names.

Yet even Dunlad was forced to admit that Maire's words held water. He butted in to speak his mind again, "I'm in agreement with Maire, and my fellow councilors. This journey's been hard on us all, not in the least the kerns and the thralls, many o' whom died in the passage, as I trust you saw. If this Aifric can ease their burden, even if just a bit, I can tell you it'd not go unnoticed."

"As for this Fintan," he continued, gesturing brusquely with his walking stick, "If what the alchemist says is true, sending him ranging is like as giving him to Camvor before his time. Rockjoint 'taint an easy nut to crack. He might wish to die bloodied on the field of battle with his brothers, in the glory of Urak and all that, but he very well can't if he can scarce walk on two legs. But he still has the sword-learning in his head, and in his arms. It'd be a shame to let that field go fallow."

"My sons wish to earn their fame with sword in hand as well, gallocman," he said, addressing the kneeling warrior directly, "Perhaps it's time you did something creative, for a change."

Glancing about at the assembly, he crossed his thick forearms and leaned back into his thornwood chair.

"Well, I've said my keep."

Dunlad sacrifices 20 cattle to his patron god, Luigibad, hoping that he will favor Clan Aonghus' first harvest in their new home.
I concur with the rest, once a year is fine with me. Our decisions will carry more weight and be more important that way. If we get fucked over then we can't fall back on a second Sacred Time to help us. I feel like it's more realistic and more in line with the spirit of survivalism that KoDP predicates itself on t b h f a m.
The alchemist/healer is making things to help the crops grow healthy, and maybe a little bigger than usual.

Dunlad is pleased
Pursue trading opportunities maybe?
I place 1 point of magic in Crops

Dunlad eyed the bickering couple, a wry glint in his eye.

A gaggle of squawking geese, that lot. He suppressed his urge to guffaw, knowing his fellow councilors would perhaps take it unkindly. Not that they wouldn't frown at him one way or another, no matter what came out of his mouth. He felt more than a little out of his element here, and the effect was only amplified by the newfangled clan hall.

Although it shone with a coat of fresh paint, it lacked something, still, fundamentally; a fire blazed furiously in the hearth, warming the place up to the rafters to waylay the Rain season bite, but the heat did not reach their hearts, still hoary from the snows of Harlaus' betrayal and the bitter waters of their hard migration. Although flowers erupted into blossom atop the Valley's knolls, they seemed preoccupied yet with the Moon season's pangs. Clan Aonghus now sprouted callow leaves, but even as the snows receded, the cold was a silent thing, and returned like a cattle thief in the night to snap the necks of sleeping saplings.

Regarding the tempest being brought down on their heads, Aifric grasping for the blade which had been dashed to the boards in the melee, Dunlad slowly rose, his right leg trembling. This quarrel, it seemed to him, was merely a test; a test to set the tone of what would come to pass. Should the ancestral rites be broken in the interest of a new beginning?

He raised his hand for silence, eyeing his fellows warily. Finally, he cleared his throat, and began, in a coarse voice, "It seems to me, a simple man, that the gods have not blessed your love. And they won't get to it any time soon."

"If, Aifric, Fintan has lain with another woman, let it be past; and Fintan, if Aifric has lain with other man, let this likewise be past," he continued, leaning weightily on his walking stick, "I say let it be done. Divorce them, and let not they come within fifty paces of one another. The gods have cast their judgement already; we have lost much, and we need not any more bad blood. There are seeds to sow, horses to foal, children to be tutored. I say let it be done."
<Snipped quote by Wernher>

I am a changed man. I know now who rules the clans.

Farmers.

I'm alright with this arrangement

EDIT: Just saw the IC post, will share my thought here shortly

How exactly should we express our choice of magic allotment? In the IC or here in the OOC?

I think you know that Dunlad is going full
