Well i don't know if this needs to be said or not but i'm officially backing out of this =/ sorry mates.
Afghanistan..
As their eyes met, David instinctively knew that she was much older than he. She smiled warmly at him and he felt it was a genuine sign that she was pleased to have another Vampire around. Just as well. There was a certain feeling of animosity that the wolf girls gave him and it made the Vampiric soldier uneasy to say the least. Judging by the warm smile, this girl was someone he could trust and trust was the foundation of any successful team. David couldn't help but feel a bit of sympathy for Mikael. The man was the only human among them besides Carson himself.

David entered the room and took a seat relatively in the middle. He wanted to remain neutral and be more of a moderator if this turned out to be a game of loyalties instead of the close knit special team that was intended.

“Are partners assigned to us, or is this an every-man-for-himself kind of organization?” asked the female Vampire. Victor, he noticed, was human and appeared very weathered. A man of vast experience and knowledge. David was willing to bed that he'd seen his fair share of combat. The reply was what the Vampire had expected, more or less. They were a tight knit organization and they valued team work. This might be difficult considering the clear racial barrier within the team.

He leaned forward on his elbows and directed his gaze to Victor. "So, my question is this. You guys know about my background, yea? so you know i work well in a unit and i have no issues with teamwork. But why are we grouped with some individuals that i believe would rather see me steaked than watch my back?" of course he was referring to the werewolves.
David laughed at the comment that Mikael would rather have him drink the bag than his own blood. It'd been years since he last fed on a human. David reckoned that it could've even been decades. At any rate he couldn't remember and it mattered little. As long as there were blood banks the Vampire would never have to feed on a human again and he was glad of it. "Ah, so it was a family thing eh? Gotcha." David replied with some understanding. As Mikael probably imagined, David picked up on the lack of detail and out of respect asked no further questions. They both had their stories it seemed. "Maybe some other time we can swap stories again over a beer and some smokes eh?" he asked as he pat Mikael on the shoulder. They both noticed the female, evidently, as Mikael was also turned in that direction.

The girl exchanged some words with Carson. Boy, she was a looker alright. Real easy on the eyes. The eyes.. she was a Vampire like himself. David scratched his chin and nodded at Mikael. "Yea, she sure does. She's a Vampire too." he pointed with two fingers at his own eyes. "You can tell by the eyes, for future reference." Mikael was the first to step off and David followed close behind.
sorry I've been so long. Got caught up in some things.
Dralith Da'Seloth stood before the gate as his companions rested, albeit briefly. The swirling mass of what seemed like living fire loomed before him. He'd gone through two other gates such as this but one was never truly accustomed to traversing the planes of Oblivion. The horrors that dwelled within were not something to look forward to. He gathered his wits as Brogan reached for the gate. "Master Brogan, hold if you will." He said as he turned to face the group. "Well, you've done a fine job thus far. I'm impressed with your abilities. But this.." he gestured to the gate. "This is the true test. Within the plane of Oblivion you will not only be tested on your martial prowess.. but also your strength of mind. Take heed as we enter.. there will be things to see that you'll wish you'd never laid eyes on." At this, he drew his enchanted Akaviri Katana. A surge of electricity flowed down the blade as it came free of its sheath. The Hero of Kvatch turned and walked through the wall of living fire that was the gate.

The group hesitated for a moment, unsure. But they gathered their courage and, with weapons ready, entered the gate.

Immediately their sense of smell was assaulted by the stench of death, decay, and things burning. The ground beneath their feet was red as if it were with in iron. The sky was as scorched as it had been around the gate in Cyrodiil. Strange, tentacle like plants dotted the cobblestone pathway that lead to a massive obsidian tower. Beyond the path in either direction was molten earth, ensuring them that there was only one way to go. Forward. Along the pathway could be seen Dremora and the imp like Daedra known as Scamps. Upon seeing the adventurers, they turned now and cast fireballs in their direction. Dralith could be seen removing his sword from the chest of a Dremora. He turned to the group as they came through. "Forward!" he shouted as he charged down the path, katana in his right hand and a ball of lightning in his left.
It seemed like everyone was fairly occupied by their own dealings. The scene with the girl caused quite a stir and Geralt noticed that more than a few people had saw fit to help her. The Queen herself was quite busy, as she had answered him with a simple thanks. He'd hoped for a more detailed conversation but alas, he was merely a Ranger. The big man in tow of Her Majesty looked quite confused after the Queen had dismissed the guards to go about their business. Geralt noted that the visiting King Alex had gone with the Queen to her study, likely to conduct royal business. Normally there would be advisors and other officials present for such dealings but if she desired privacy, privacy is what she got.

He made his way to the window near Goliath. The man as huge to say the least and walked with an air of confidence. He was a warrior, Geralt could see. One not to cross blades with. "So, Goliath is it?" said the Ranger as he leaned on the wall. "My name is Geralt, Queens Ranger."
David and Mikael stood and smoked in relative silence after the human had commented on his off hand smoking. It wasn't really an awkward silence but neither was it two friends sharing a moment. The Vampire attributed it to two soldiers in respectful contemplation. Mikael had the look of a fighter. David simply nodded at this. He took one last drag, exhaling and dropping the cigarette butt to the ground and stepping on it with a heavy black boot. Mikael was almost done with his as well, he notched as he put his hands in his jean pockets.

"Carson told me you have an interesting story. Care to share?" The human said, breaking the silence. David looked at him with his pale blue eyes, the eyes of a Vampire.

"I guess you could say that i do. To make a long story short, I was a Marine during World War one, World War two, and up until a few days ago. Different names for each war as you can imagine. Sorry if i leave out a lot of detail, wars like that aint really something you like to think about all too often. The first war is when i became a Vampire. Damn Nazi" He said as he crossed his arms and looked in the direction of the gate with a chuckle. "Ask me again sometime and maybe I'll go into more detail about it." David looked back at him. "What about you? How'd you get mixed up in all this supernatural bullshit?" As he spoke, he reached into his backpack and removed a blood bag with a straw attached. He broke the seal on the straw and drank as if he was drinking a yoo-hoo. "Hope you don't mind.. "
Geralt swirled his mug around leisurely in his hand and took a swig every so often as he watched the goings on around the room. So far nothing had happened that would cause him to act so he was content to observe. The majority of the castle staff knew him and gave him a wide berth. Of course the royal family knew him as well, he'd been close friends with the late King and they would oft see him in the palace. As far as the Ranger was concerned, the royal siblings held no ill thoughts for him but it hardly mattered. His bow was for the Queen and he answered to non other.

This Goliath character, Geralt noted, seemed to fit well into his body guard roll. His first impression was that the large mans pledge of loyalty was genuine and that he had good intentions... But the road to hells was paved with good intentions and so Geralt would keep an eye on the man as he did everyone in the castle. King Wildred had always told him "Geralt, you're too damned paranoid. There -are- good people in the world y'know" And Geralt would usually shrug the comment away with a slight smile. He wore that smile now as he recalled his dear friend.

The Ranger shook his head as if to shake the nostalgia away and return to the present. He downed the contents of his mug and put it down on the table before making his way to the Queen. He bowed his head in respect. "Your grace. Congratulations on your coronation. Your father was a great man and a great King. I know that you'll follow in his footsteps and become an even greater Queen." Geralt nodded to Goliath in a silent greeting.
David followed a bit behind the SUV, giving ample room to stop if the SUV stopped so that he wouldn't go flying through their rear window. His was a street bike but it took the dirt road well. Once the SUV stopped at a sort of check point he'd guessed that this was the place. The tall fence, likely electrical, had something to do with it as well. David noticed Carson and the man at the check point speaking and through his keen Vampiric sense of sound, heard what they were saying.

"Carson, welcome back again. How'd the recruitment go? They look like they're actually gonna last more than a week." upon hearing the words David frowned under his hemet. Evidently they had a very short life expectancy.. lovely.

"Phil, this is Mikael, one of the recruits. The other three, a man on motorcycle and two female werewolves should be coming shortly. Just let them right in, you'll know them when you see them. I'm sure Vic spoke to you about the new blood. I'll be waiting by the front of the main building, see you later, Phil."

"I'll keep an eye out for them. You take it easy, Carson."

The gate opened and Carson drove the SUV forward and before the gate began to close, David zipped through on his bike and waved at Phil as he passed. He pulled up beside the parked SUV, taking care not to hit Carson who was now out of the drivers seat. He cut the engine and placed his helmet on the handle bars before tossing his own keys to the very same mechanic. "No scratches, eh? she's brand new." he said as he removed his cigarettes and lighter from his jacket pocket. With a flick of his wrist the zippo opened and lit. David lifted the open flame to the cigarette in his mouth and puffed until the marlboro red was lit and filling the air with its toxins. He took a long drag and held it before exhaling. "Oh yea. Thats the stuff. Classic Marlboro." He offered his hand to Mikael which contained his pack of reds, one was sticking out a bit more than the others. "Smoke?"
