Also a heads-up to everyone, I might ask some of you to specify again where your settlement is located, as some descriptions are a bit... Hard to understand. A screenshot with a dot (or heart in Evangelyne's case) is excellent. For example the steppe people @Voltus_Ventus and citrus crest @barkmeat2. Apologies if you've already told me, I may be just a bit daft!

Shit. Ight my bad on land description, I can't do the picture shit mostly because I usually post from my phone. It's between the south-western river before the fork and near the coast with the large lone island. It's pretty much down river of the lake elves.

The First Council: Making Farms

7 aged men, each a respected mentor and father to the families of the original 7, gather in the primitive yet cozy long house acting as the defacto village center. Introductions are made, gossip and small talk are exchanged, and again Elder Lime and Peach debate in which the seed or the tree came first. As the pleasantries died down Elder Wheat came forward,

"Gentlemen welcome to the first... Small Council?" He looks around for confirmation, of which is responded with multiple nods. "Small Council Meeting. Our people have finally settled in this new land, to each a home and hearth. That said our stores are running thin and it is about time to put our ancestral knowledge to use. It is time to till the earth and plow our seeds into Mother Earth, " this elicits a few chuckles and an abundance of groans and face palms, but otherwise the idea is unanimously agreed upon.

"A great idea! Improvement of our food source is essential Elder Wheat!" Elder Rye proclaimed.

"Uh... Yeah. Thank you Rye, but I think we were all present. W...why'd you summarize that?" Elder Wheat knew Rye meant well but of the 7, let's just say... He was a bit past his prime ripeness.

I shall call my first settlement.
Greenland, because goblins are super original like that.
We will use red as our colour (Because green is taken) and will settle in the below heavily forested area.

Edit: After reading your post I can't help but wonder ... Where did you come from? Your people haven't been here on this continent ever before, so they must've left their former lands for one reason or another.
Also when you say river vallies do you mean the forking rivers in the central-west?

Citrus Crest Peoples

The people of Citrus Crest are humble farmers, tilling and tending a fertile piece of land under the watch of the locally named "Citrus Mountain" seen in the near distance. Their ancestors arrived sometime along the southern delta past the lonely island off the coast. The 7 original families were opportunistic immigrants looking for greener pastures and had entered a mutual pact of protection with each other.

Through their initial founding of but 7 original families(The Limes, The Wheats, The Oranges, The Peaches, The Rye, The Bakers, The Millers) years of trial and error, boons and disasters they have an adequate understanding on local flood patterns, seasonal rains, and planting seasons for a fair bit of plants. That said, domestication of local beasts is seldom, encompassing a singular breed of proto-dogs descended from the the hounds of old.

They are lead by a local council, a rudimentary democracy which is ran by 7 elected members.

The agrarian life-style affords large families and larger harvest festivals, the peaceful Citrus Crescent Peoples are jovial and friendly, which comes with its own perils. Weapons and armor are primitive and a small token law keeping militia is the extent of their military might.

The Citrus Crescent People sport a tasty and innocent peach on their heraldry.

Interestingly enough these people took a rather comical settlement name believing that irony will spare them the wrath of nature and thusly named their settlement:

Banana Fort, a town where it's namesake fruit is hard pressed to grow and whose only defensive emplacement is... Nothing actually, just dirt and huts.
