Is this still taking applications?

Nvm, day 1's almost over. And I hardly doubt I can rustle up anything, but I'll try to post a CS anyways if it's miraculously still open.

Actually, Day 1 just started. I think you have at least a day or two (real time), so you might be fine.

thx bud
Ribald

The sun shined bright as light and distanced clouds danced about the the sky. The air fresh and crisp with just a tinge of biting cold to remind you that you were alive.
It was dreadful, Ribald quickly draped the curtains, sealed the heavy metal sills and shut himself from the world that reminded him too much of the rolling plains and clear skies of Wisconsin. Fortunately the sun hadn't ruined any of the multitude of volatile chemicals in the room, and for that Ribald was thankful. Fortunately his experiment was going well, the white tiled room was now painted a dark red. The results were surprising, Solution A to F(Heavy Metal Bases) had little effects, while Solution S-V (Carbo-Sulfates bases) held the more... spontaneous results. Ribald sighed, as fun as it was working with tissue and blood samples, he wanted a live specimen. Command wouldn't send him any while going on about 'logistics' and 'civilian safety.' Honestly he was bored, nothing happens in this shit town, the people were too nice, the streets too clean, and he was pretty sure command was bullshitting him when they said 'likely presence of Whiskey Tangoes.' He wanted live subjects and he wanted it now.

He prepped his pickup and opted to bring Cat along for the trip. A truck bed full of metal traps and boxes didn't seem too out of place in a town who enjoyed varied hunting vistas, and he drove out towards the more ancient trees of the Whatsawhosits Forest.

The drear and mossy air in the dark undergrowth sat well with Ribald as he unloaded his truck. It was like a regular old pre-hunt briefing session, minus the yells to get him to pay attention. The blood packs would be smeared along tree trunks, staggered steps with broken branches, and faux antler markings simulated a animal on its last legs. All of this led to the climax, a Thule Society Favorite, a barbed titanium thread snare, certain to trap even a rampaging bull elephant. He read through the town's hunting laws: tags not needed for subsistence hunting, and traps are a-okay so long as they are humane (which his were definitely not, but no game warden comes this far into the woods and enforcement was lax over all.)

Afterwards he spent the morning setting multiple trails and traps, keeping his step light and humming a quiet tune he tried to keep his presence low; he'd rather not meet a beast while he was unprepared and alone. Of course he didn't expect anything substantial from this undertaking. While he hoped for a miracle, a regular wolf or bear would keep his freezer stocked for quite a bit.

He'd come back, but he guessed it was about time for some eats and he called Cat back; if anything this town had great steak and grits.
Snake Oil Salesmantype character? Eh? Eh?

Name: Manny O. Polly
Age: 35
Occupation: Salesman Extraordinaire
Species: Human
Appearance:

Personality:
This man is the slimiest scum you will ever have the displeasure to meet, but you'll never know it. He is devilishly charismatic with a silver tongue to match. That said he is a man of some honor, he'll get the job done under a contract (of which is usually ridden with loopholes and results are seedier than a wheat field after a tornado.)

Histroy: A man from the cities back East(or lore equivalent). He was raised as the son of a senator, and the underhanded ways of high society molded him into a smooth talker and greed made him into a businessman. That said high society came with its own past times of which he spent much of his spare time carousing in fight clubs learning the gentleman art of pugilism.
With degree in Business administration from a high profile university he came to the frontier to exploit the simple hard working folk.

Weapons:
-The Finest Vulcan Pistol money can buy
-Gold Plated Brass knuckles

Skills:
-Silver Tongue: Born into high society teaches you that a quick wit and a sharp tongue will get you most everything.
-Business Admin: Price speculation, wage management, and most importantly trade bluffs.
-Pugilism: Far from a master and naive to life or death struggles, but he can hold his own.
-Connections: A skill that might have little value in the frontier, but the ability to drop names and threats might prove valuable.

Weaknesses:
-Poor shot: Never had a reason to kill a man...personally.
-Cushy upbringing: The harshness of the frontier wilderness is largely unknown to him.
-Political Enemies: Some very powerful and influential people want him dead.
Hey sorry, i can't change join status, but the spots reserved. Sorry friends.
The Gate

Welcome to The Gate, or Medieval Fantasy Rape Time. The 20th century has brought with it many great things: industry, urbanization, medicine and most importantly war. The turn of the century saw to the Greatest War the World has ever witness. Hundreds of thousands fell to deadly and impersonal tactics and technologies. To the victor the spoils and to the loser ruin.

It is the morning of October 25th, 1939. The allied powers sit complacent in their past victory. France sports one of the largest armies in the world and holds an impressive defensive border with Germany, the Maginot line.

On the other side the 3rd Reich has risen from the devastation and humiliation of the Great War into one of the world's largest industrial powers in but a few short years. Their power is great, their ambitions even greater.

Back across France and over a narrow channel of water seats one of the Greatest Maritime Empires to have ever existed. Their influence and reach reaches across the world, old colonies now free see them as friends and allies while they themselves hold their own industrial might.

Across a greater stretch of ocean a sleeping giant fights off an internal sickness, but its inherent powers reverberate throughout the world. This young nation, the United States of America, has grown exponentially since its founding, great tycoons compete to produce one of the most powerful industrial powers. This country, while young holds, boundless potential its limitless acres slowing growing into steel monstrosities.

To the far east, another emergent power grows unchecked. The Empire of Japan has grown in the past 2 years, its ancestral lands no longer enough for them. Its neighbors held witness to their brutality and ferocity as the far east runs red and even with the bloody conquest in China the Empire greedily sets its ambitions beyond the horizon.

A strange portal has opened in secret to one of these great nations. A portal to a new and mysterious world that their respective governments will assuredly seek the new virgin lands. Research has been conducted on the inner workings of the gate. Cameras have been sent through to reveal a forest clearing to a large river. Live scouts have been sent through and confirmed that radios do function across the other side. However, Command dares not venture far from the portal.

The portal is Open for 1-2 mins at a time, and requires a month to recharge. Now command wants YOU sir to lead an expedition to establish a base of operations which may lead to future colonization.

NOW SIR, YOU ARE?

I don't quite understand your second character.

Ex-hunter. Vengeful Wolves took their revenge on him, killed wife and daughter and got turned a Wolf as a punishment. Was hunted by Thule Society afterwards, but made enough tracks to either make them think he was dead or too far away to be worth it. He ended up in his wife's home town, and wanted to retire to a quiet civilian life unknowing of the established wolf pack.

Double the enemies. Double the fun?
