Consider this a placeholder until I come up with a punchy, pithy status.

@Winter Kitten
I'll put it in the charger tab after you've responded to it fully, if that's alright? Just want to make sure it's perfect.
@Archmage MC@MiddleEarthRoze
Pretty much what Roze said, we've said our pieces and don't have any reason to think of weaknesses. And, not to be harsh, but I don't we are interested in the character, per say. We're interested in maintaing a consistent theme and tone in the RP, something your character threatens to break. If your character didn't, we'd probably have nothing but good things to say about it.
@Archmage MC
Okay, firstly, it's spelled 'Eldritch'. Secondly, your use of quotation marks and self defensive tone make this feel like you think we're being unreasonable and you're considering compromising because we're somehow forcing your hand. I don't think any of us are being at all unreasonable in expressing our opinion that cartoon physics breaks immersion in a game that's trying to capture a specific tone. Cartoon physics, as Kitten has pointed out, work best in a solo outing because of a host of reasons and none of us are attacking you personally, simply stating our objections to an idea. Fourthly, Roze is clearly using the inherent silliness of Cap joining Hydra as an example of things that shouldn't happen in a marvel game. Thirdly, are you honestly telling me you would find it impossible to write more convincing weaknesses than bad luck? That anything other than that is just not possible in any way, shape or form? I find that unlikely, I have no doubt you could write more interesting flaws and weaknesses, should you put your mind to it rather than saying 'no, no, can't be done, she'll just have to be god'.

The director's words and motions instantly crack the immersion of the stage, bringing me back to the world with the subtly of a bucket of iced water. For a moment, I almost turn to glower at him but I catch myself, consciously disentangling the Beast parts of the character from who I am. Instead, I smile and accept his praise with a modest nod.

As they shuffle out, I look over at you and give that subtle inclination of the head that, in circles of professionals, means 'nice work'. At your words, I extend a hand to be shook and indicate myself with the other. "And I'm Michael, pleasure to meet you. I think we worked very well together, yes. A few rough edges but we'll knock those off in rehearsal, for sure."
@MiddleEarthRoze
Just to make sure Roze isn't alone in stating an opinion, I'll back her on this.

I largely agree with what she's saying, particularly regarding relative realism. Obviously we aren't looking for hyper-gritty, ultra-believable powers, we've got a teleporting demon-lookalike and a texan who can talk to animals, not to mention the Asgardians. But this RP is playing into the tone and standard realism of the MCU. Part of what made Ironman such a success was its grounding of a fantastical idea (suit that lets you fly and fire lasers) in somewhat believable 'science'. Watching Tony design the suit, you could almost believe that it could be done. What everyone dislikes about Ironman 2 is that they abandoned this model in favour of 'lol, new element from a map, synthesise it in half an hour, such genius'. Although they've never really explored this stuff in the Thor films, they at least made it clear that the Asgardians aren't gods, they're an advanced alien race that have interacted with humans throughout history, whose technology is so complex and advanced, it's indistinguishable from magic to us. Hence, fantastical grounded in realism. The same is true for Captain America and, to a lesser extent, Ant-man.

I personally think that any power that takes us away from the fantastical grounded in the semi-realistic is going to be an immersion breaker, especially something as nebulous as Toon force.
Nothing glamorous or ridiculous like Captain Britain's pajama costume.

Did...

Did you just...

The British Bulldog is a national hero and the entire nation is now looking at you with judgy eyes, awaiting an apology.

Once more, I open my mouth to respond but have nothing to say. With a somewhat defeated sigh, I incline my head and offer my 'injured' arm for treatment. When you warn of a sting, I snort doubtfully but let it turn into a hiss of surprise and anguish as your fingertips touch my arm. I make as if to wrench my arm away but catch your eye and decided against it.

"By the way, thank you," I turn to look at you but your head is downcast. "for saying my life."

I take in the genuine gratitude in your voice and am, for a moment, lost in the character. I snap out of it quickly and say "You are most welcome." with a little gruffness but more feeling than anything else I've blustered about so far.

When you respond, I violently shake my head in contempt, turn as if to respond and then stop. For a moment, my mouth hangs open and my eyes dart from side to side. Then I turn away and take a few steps away, as if to abandon the conversation.

I use the moment this buys me to glance at the watching director, along with a few of the other members of the production scene. No one seems to be walking out yet, two of them seem to be whispering to each other. Good sign? Who knows.

Suddenly, I turn back, like I've just thought of a retort. Wagging a finger, I say "Well you shouldn't have been in the West Wing!" in a self satisfied, reproachful tone.

With grudging acceptance, I stop pulling my hand away and allow you to tend to it. For a few moments, I keep still and watch you, before pulling away again with an impatient grunt.

"Well if you hadn't run away, this wouldn't have happened!" I spit, once more standing as to prevent you from continuing your tending to my 'wounds'. My injured hand is clasped in the other, held on the far side of my body as I glare over my shoulder at you.
