Alright. There are the relationships on my end.
Oh, shit. Right. I forgot about Shannon. Vee would still be nice to her, even if she's suspicious of them. Vee would find it funny. Ethan would stress out about it. I'll plug 'em all in, then.

Omfg. You're killing me Maxx. Heheheh.

Yeah, maybe. Maybe not. It's hard to tell at this point. Vee might be too much of a goody-two-shoes for him.
Iiight. Well, since you guys are here, I'll tell you how I think mine relate to yours.

Vera's pretty friendly with everyone, but with the age gap between a lot of them, I see her being closer friends with Henry (might end up PMing you about that, actually. Since you mentioned it.), Morrison and Deborah. Dana, too. She may have even tried to heal Dana's legs and Morrison's eyes if they let her try. The thing is, she's not competitive, so she wouldn't engage in that kind of stuff with a lot of the sportier students, but she's more than happy to be a cheerleader.

I know she definitely doesn't like Valjean, but she wouldn't let him, or anyone, get under her skin. She's a master at walking away from bad situations.

Ethan's only been around for a year and he's shit at talking to people, so a lot of people he wouldn't really speak to unless they spoke to him first. However, I think he likes Tess. Like, a lot. He has a thing with transfolk, hence his thing with Vee. So, he would have made efforts to talk to her. Might he consider her a friend?

And a friend of Vee's is a friend of Ethan's at this point. He might be a little intimidated by most of them, but he can be a little more competitive than Vera.
Oh, yo. Right, about the posting thing. I was totally spacing out. I'll group 'em together from now on.

As for returning students and their relationships.... Are we gonna just hash it out right here, or should we take it to PMs with whom it may concern?
Ethan Parker Jr.

Ethan couldn't find Vee on the boat. That shouldn't have been as distressing as it was being that she was probably intentionally isolating herself from everyone- crowds and all- but without that particular familiar face keeping him company on the long boat ride, he found himself alone and awkward on the deck. Thankfully, he brought a book so he had something to read while he sat under the sun for two hours, anxiously glancing up at every person that walked by him.

As soon as he got off the boat, he accidentally got sucked into the current of new students walking to the assembly. Honestly, he forgot where he was going and following the group seemed like a good idea at first, but by the time he realized where they were going, it was too late for him to escape. By his standards, anyway. So, he sat through the speech and rules for a second time. He convinced himself it was a good thing he came to refresh his memory of the rules and regulations of school. Curfew, no smoking, no sex... Right. He could do that. No problem.

After the assembly, Ethan started for the Administration building to find out what his living situation was looking like, but, finally, he saw someone he recognized. Morrison was standing off to the side, which he was going to take as an invitation to go up and say hi, but it took him a good moment of hovering out of appropriate speaking distance of him, making up his mind on what to say, before finally walking up to him.

"Hi, um, Mor-Morrison? It's nice to see you..." It hit him then he didn't even know if Morrison knew who he was. It was too late to back down now. "-again. How was your, uh, your summer?" He forced a smile that quickly wilted away when he realized that Morrison wouldn't see it, but then came back again because even if he didn't see it, it would be rude to not to smile at someone while he was speaking to them.
Vee

Generally, Vera didn't care for crowded spaces, particularly on the boat packed with excited and anxious students, new and returning. It was overwhelming being turned into a human cocktail of conflicting emotions, but once they landed, she excused herself for a walk around campus to unwind from the exhausting two hour trip. Vee was never one for the unavoidable heat of the island, but the humid discomfort was a familiar, if not welcoming sensation under her clothes as she wandered. Her home away from home. Still, she rolled up the sleeves of her zip-up jacket and carried on along the various paths through the campus.

Eventually, she ended up back where she started somewhere in the middle of campus. Vera kept an eye out for all the new faces, suspecting she might be needing to hand out some directions or answer some questions. She remembered her first day being a horror show with the lack of control over her abilities, the heat, and her awful sense of direction. Since then, she made it her mission to help out in whatever way she could.

Then her eyes landed on some Greaser guy throwing off his jacket and lighting up a cigarette. A single eyebrow lifted under the sweep of her blue bangs. Alright, bad boy. He was probably around her age, so she may as well introduce herself. Out of respect, she closed her mind and shut out the noise of outside feelings as much as she could as she approached him.

Realizing she was coming out of his peripheral, she spoke up a respectful distance away. "Hey." As she closed the space between them, she noticed his Bad Company shirt. At least he had taste in music. The logo of her Ramones t-shirt was slapped on her flat chest between the open zipper of her jacket. "You're new?" It was a statement as well as a question; Just because she didn't recognize him didn't mean that he wasn't a returned. Though, she doubted she would have forgotten him, if that were the case.

I'm actually excited for Ethan and Alex to get to know each other. Moon and Sun combo achieved.

Hah! For real. They could merge together and create their ultimate form a la Power Rangers.
Basic Information

Name: Ethan Parker Jr.
Nickname/Alias/Etc: Eth, Parker, Sunny, Boy scout
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 135 lbs
Status: Returning Student
Appearance

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Hazel
Ethnicity: Caucasian (Italian, Greek, Irish, Jewish)
Physical Appearance: Ethan has a permanent tan to his light olive complexion, but no tan lines. He has a heart-shaped, very boyish face compared to the sharp part in his hair that usually seen on Republicans or news anchors. His eyes are wide and expressive and their color vibrant like topaz. He has one of those bright smiles that completely changes his face, making him look more a child than a teen. Ethan’s body is regrettably soft from a mixture of asthma and a sedentary lifestyle. Much to his astonishment, he’s growing chest hair, but he has been shaving his chin regularly since he was fourteen.

Attire: To be honest, he looks like a Mormon missionary. Or an elderly librarian. Or both. He’s all pressed oxford shirts, slacks, comfortable dress shoes fit for an attorney more than a high school student. He has a wide collection of sweater vests, pullovers, and cardigans that he alternates fashionably with the rest of his attire. On weekends, he might be seen in jeans or khakis.
Personality

Outward & Innate Personality: Ethan comes off as skittish and stiff, which is undeniably. Social anxiety on top of years of homeschooling and limited contact with people his age makes it very difficult to approach people. Then comes the problem with stringing together words into sentences without his persistent anxiety-induced stammer. He’s awkward, but he means well.

In fact, he would love to be the charming and charismatic guy that’s everyone’s friend. He likes people and he likes listening to people talk, holding discussions and so forth, it just takes him a while to get past the barrier of anxiety. He constantly lives in fear of disappointing somebody, but he’s attentive to other’s needs and picks up on social cues flawlessly. He’s generous. One of his favorite things to do is give gifts to people he likes. He’s terrible at receiving gifts or compliments, however. He’s very well-mannered, gentlemanly towards women as he was raised to be. But he’s prone to overthink things and introduce awkwardness to any social situation at any given moment.

Hobbies/Interests: Ethan loves to write. He’s working on his first novel and he has a whole slew of poetry he would never show to anyone ever. He likes reading, mainly the classics and Greek mythology. He’s also a fan of expensive tea and fine dining. His culinary skills aren’t anything to sniff at either. Of course, he likes plants, namely sunflowers. He can relate to them very well.
Skills/Talents: His narrative skills in writing are just as good as his expository writing. He’s written quite a few essays for friends over the years, often within a day’s notice. He’s fluent as one can be in Latin and knows a few licks of French and Italian.
Prized Possession: His personal copy of the Bible and corresponding cross-shaped bookmark.

Abilities

Power Class: Cosmic 6

Power: Solar Absorption and Expulsion - Ethan is very much like a plant in how he absorbs the sunlight for sustenance. He can’t live forever on a sun-only diet, maybe as long a few days, but it can be a meager substitute for food if he’s able to get some water. His ability to heal is directly related to how much sun he gets. The more sun, the quicker he heals.
Ethan can release energy in the form of a solar flare that can range in size and intensity. Usually the heavier and bigger the output, the slower it flies. A direct hit can be as mild as sunburn or as severe as a third degree burn and worse.
He’s warmer than the average person by a couple of degrees. Hot and cold weather don’t affect him very much. Also, warm beverages retain their heat longer when he holds him.
He can glow which can be telling to his mood if he’s embarrassed or happy about something.

Light Manipulation - He can change the way light reflects off of something, therefore changing its color or the appearance of its texture. For instance, he can make a smooth, white stone appear purple and rough. Or make one object or person blend in with other objects as a way of camouflaging it.

Weaknesses/Limitations/Drawbacks: On an average day, Ethan gets enough sun to perform his abilities to half of their maximum strength because he retains energy just a little better than he absorbs it. If he ever got into a serious fight, he’d be pretty screwed. If it’s dark, he’s pretty much screwed after a couple of hours when his energy runs out.
As mentioned earlier, he can live off of only energy for a few days before starvation kicks in assuming he’s spending most of his day under direct sunlight.
It’s very possible for him to absorb too much sunlight. If he goes days and days under direct sunlight, he can burn out and suffer something like a sunstroke except more violent and possibly fatal.
If he releases all of his energy at once, it would create a very powerful flare, but the withdraw from that is the equivalent of a drug user quitting cold turkey for him until he recovers.
He has to be touching an object or person for it to change color.
He can absorb and use artificial UV light, but he gets a little sick doing it.

Other: He’s a proud member of the Book Club, Dinner Club, and Christian Fellowship, even though he’s Catholic.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'll separate them.

(Though I have to say that Empathy/Diagnosis is more of a cerebral ability)

I wasn't too sure on that, to be honest. Sorta made a guess. I can change it to Cerebral instead.
Basic Information

Name: Vera Dubnin
Nickname/Alias/Etc: Vee,
Gender: Androgynous, prefers female pronouns
Age: 20
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 115 lbs
Status: Returning Student/Assistant Nurse
Appearance

Hair Color: Dusty blue with some odd streaks of white and purple.
Eye Color: Brown
Ethnicity: Caucasian (Russian)
Physical Appearance: Vera is naturally redheaded, but recent bleaching and a dye job gone wrong has her stuck with dusky blue hair with a few random streaks of blonde and purple off her hairline. Her hair is about chin length in an uneven chop job she cut herself. Her eyes are dark brown, like melted dark chocolate. She’s about average height, 5’7”, and thin, but not unfit from infrequent, but weekly jogs. She’s pale, but what she lacks in color, she makes up in tattoos.

Her entire back is a mural of watercolor images of a cherry blossom tree on a lake with koi. Down her arm, an empty pill bottle, the skyline of New Jersey, then the words “We read to know we’re not alone.” On her other arm is a peacock feather. On her wrist is a tiny heart in black. Most of the pictures are of flowers and trees, birds and feathers and other nature things like that in watercolor style. A short sleeved shirt would cover it up, but since her wardrobe consists mostly of tanktops, croptops and the like, it’s usually at least partially visible. She has several holes in her ears and her bellybutton pierced.

Vera has one of those symmetrical faces and silhouettes that doesn’t lend itself to either gender. Depending on the context of her clothing and what she’s doing people might assume she’s more one gender than the other.

Attire: Vera dresses like a punk with dark, solid colors rather than patterns or anything vivid.
Personality

Outward & Innate Personality: In group situations, Vee tends to keep to herself and goes into wallflower mode, but one-on-one she’s very personable and friendly. She can come off as stand-offish or indifferent because of her resting expression and choice of attire. Really, she’s a great listener and her advice is pretty sound as well, but she can get so caught up in other people’s problems and helping out in what ways she can that she neglects herself a lot.

It’s very easy for her to take the blame for others and feeling guilty over something she didn’t do. She has high expectations of herself and she doesn’t realize it. A lot of the time, she doesn’t think about what she wants or likes. Still, she loves having fun and hanging out with friends, whatever that may be. She’ll try anything once. She’s also an adamant pacifist. Not only does she suck at fighting, she hates seeing other people fight in earnest. Sparring and training is different, but she still doesn’t care for it.

Hobbies/Interests: She likes to read, fiction more than nonfiction and poetry over literature. She’s dabbled in poetry herself, but it’s pretty awful. She loves giving makeovers to people, so long as there’s someone else to do the hair. True to style, she loves rock music and going to rock concerts and getting caught up in mosh pits.

Skills/Talents: Vee is a tattoo artist by trade, but she’s pretty handy in terms of a lot of body art like piercings, henna, nail painting, body and face painting and make-up. She sucks at hair, though.
Because of her ability, she’s studied psychology and medicine extensively on her own. At this point, she could probably be at the level of someone in their third semester of nursing school.
She knows how to dress wounds and use actual medicine as well. She even has her certification in CPR.
She’s fluent in Russian.
Prized Possession: She has a photo of her and her younger sister on her nightstand with a message written to her from her sister on the back of it.
Quote(s): “Yeah, you can call me a girl, actually. Female pronouns, if you don’t mind. Thanks.

This tat? Um, it’s a funny story, actually. Started out as one of your typical Tuesday nights, you know? And then…
History/Bio: Vera was the middle child between two more attractive, more outgoing, more talented sisters and was subsequently overlooked for a lot of her adolescence, even when she started showing her meta-human powers, starting with empathy. She kept to herself whenever she was around them and became the black sheep of the family with her own style and circle of friends. Her parents didn’t approve of her new identity, especially her powers, but her siblings were always supportive of her, in their own nonchalant way. So long as she didn't interfere with their social lives, they didn't care what she did.

It wasn’t until her younger sister was diagnosed with manic-depression that Vera discovered the healing aspect of her abilities. All she had to do was touch her when she was having an episode and she got better immediately. She would be fine for days, then months, then a whole year without having any problems. Vera spread her ability around a bit, visiting dementia patients in hospice homes and volunteering at hospitals and homeless shelters. But then Vera started going full-time at school and saw her sister less and less. Gradually, her sister’s condition worsened and their parents eventually committed her to an institution in hopes that she would get better. Her sister was seventeen when she committed suicide and there was nothing anyone could have done to stop it from happening, but Vera still blames herself.

Since then, she’s gone back to being a part-time, returning student and made medicine and psychology her focus for a career. A lot of what she knows is self-taught, but she's taking classes in those fields to improve her abilities. She became an assistant nurse at school when she was eighteen, but she's always been an unofficial helping hand around campus.

Abilities

Power Class: Extra-sensory and Chemical

Power: Empathy and Diagnosis - Vera is an empath. She can feel other people’s feelings as if they were her own such as powerful emotions like hate, fear or lust and including more mild emotions like discomfort, melancholy or boredom. If someone is under the influence of a drug or medication, she can distinguish what it is they’re using.
Along those lines, she can tell if someone has a mental or physical illness.

Healing - She can alleviate pain, be it mental or physical if she isn’t sure what the problem is. She can remove the symptoms of mental illness over a period of time that can last up to a year without relapse. Vee can mend bones, close wounds, reattach lost limbs if they’re given to her quick enough, and restore lost senses if it’s not a genetic disease.
Emotionally, she can make people feel happy or sleepy, angry or depressed, high as a kite- anything along the whole spectrum of emotions, really.

Weaknesses/Limitations/Drawbacks: Her ability to diagnose ailments both physical and mental is limited to her own knowledge. For instance, she might be able to find a mass in someone’s brain, but would be unable to distinguish the difference between a clot, a tumor or cancer. Or if someone is hallucinating, she might not be able to tell if it’s schizophrenia or sleep deprivation.
Using just words can calm someone down, but in order for any part of her ability to work properly, she has to touch them, especially if she can’t identify the problem.
She is constantly taking in other people’s emotions. She can turn it down, but not all the way off.
If Vee doesn’t continuously visit someone she’s “cured” of mental illness, they will eventually revert back into their illness.
She can’t bring people back from the dead or regenerate lost limbs.

Other: She's been going to the Academy for twelve years.
