There. Gonna make a series of Butterfly Secret Techniques, then. Fine by me :)

Well, I didn't want a summon because those requires contracts and I found it quite unlikely for her to have written a contract already.
She doesn't have anything she can manipulate (like sand) to make the eye and... well, she needs something to make the eye of. Without the connection between her and the media used (Like Gaara had with his sand and Yondaime Kazekage with his gold dust) it just seems like it wouldn't work. The user of the third eye has to connect the third eye to their optic nerve, which they can do by the chakra, is suppose, but they have to be able to manipulate and control the eye as well. Otherwise, it is pretty useless...

Am I making sense?
How about it make it an actual bird? Like a companion.

Infusing their avian compaion with their own chakra, the user will be able to use this bird as a sort of third eye. The user him-/herself does not decide where to go, which is why an avian companion over just any bird is needed. This Hiden allows for the user to see the world from the air, through their soaring bird.
I will make it a scroll, rather than a book and add another jutsu, removing the doujutsu. Or could I just make it a Soaring Soul thing (something along the lines of the shintenshin, just without another body and with the "soul" just soaring about like a bird), or should I think of something completely new?

(Note: I don't read stuff or anything about the series; I only know what I've seen and remember (and my brain is stcky like glue, so I remember a lot), so if I'm wrong about this, terribly sorry.)
Kreig; About the doujutsu manifesting by itself; all the doujutsu we've seen in the anime/manga have been Kekkei Genkai, which cannot be taught, but lie in the blood of the user. If the doujutsu was not part of a Kekkei Genkai, but was just a jutsu that just happened to be called a doujutsu because it had to do with ones sight, it could be taught to just about anyone. That was what I was thinking.
Ahh, thanks. I'll work on that.

Edit:
Added this to my own document;
"The book said that they usually would never be written down, 'cause clans feared that their Hiden would be stolen, but that when my great-great-whatever-grandfather realized that they were close to extinction, after the clan was spread by all winds, he wrote in down, just in case. That turned out to be the right decision, I guess."

Would that work?
Uhh... I wasn't sure whether to post in the OOC or here, so I am just posting here.

I am definately interested in this.
