Current For the same reason it was able to gather its power, I will not bow to it. Freedom is for everyone; not just the loudest voice.

Bio

I return from a long hiatus, in the hopes that roleplaying has once again returned to the art of inclusive storytelling. Prove me right and I will stay. Prove me wrong and I will go.

I could show some leg and hope she follows us home.
On a totally unrelated note, I propose that this song be the Reformers' theme. If you view it on the actual YouTube site, it comes with lyrics.

Awesome.
My vote for casting for Alex is Morgan Freeman. Tell me it doesn't fit.

Not nearly enough of him in this clip, but it's applicable.

I love the new Sam Coles! =D

Yes, for those who haven't seen it, Ryver has given me a better picture to use for my character. I think it fits her MUCH better than anything else I've seen. Thank you, Ryver.
Just as a general rule (not a detailled or system-based thing, just a hard and fast rule), Kirra and I have discussed several points which would be relevant to the "difficulty" associated with certain abilities doing certain things. That general rule is as follows (unless Kirra decides otherwise):

-If it increases effect, it increases difficulty.
-If it increases range, it increases difficulty
-If it represents a versatility, a general benefit, or any given increase to the character's ability, it increases difficulty.

What this actually means for a freeform roleplay system (since we have no dice, no stats, etc) is that we want everyone to be aware of their own power level, and of how much they're doing with that power. The more you do, the harder it is to do it, and that's just a general fact. We're trying to establish a sort of unwritten rule to govern that. Part of my job as Co-GM will be to voice my opinion whenever a situation occurs which might fall under that rule.

For the most part, it's just about balancing and fair play. If you play your character the way you described in your accepted CS, you have nothing to worry about.
I would also like to put it out there that, if anyone would like to question me about Sam's power, I'm also up for discussion. I'm submitting my own character for this process, so that everyone can be clear on every point. Questions?
I would point out that, for a person who is accustomed to a certain level of pain (i.e. it happens more often than not, or at least more often than others), any given pain will be more tolerable than if a person who had never felt it before were to experience the same pain. I would actually estimate about 65-75% of a migraine for one who's never felt it before, just in comparison to a person who's used to it. But that may be me being too picky. It's been known to happen.

Having some experience with migraine sufferers (my mate once forgot how to speak during a migraine), I can say this for certain: You will probably be sensitive to light and sound, will feel as though your brain is trying to inflate to the point where it pops your skull, and certainly will not feel like doing anything physically-intensive.

Half a migraine (to me) would be somewhere between calling in sick to work, spending the rest of the day with an ice pack on your head and a steady supply of industrial-strength Ibuprofen, and trying to knock yourself unconscious just to make the pain stop.

That may be at the top end of the scale; I'm not sure, since I've never felt one before.
Still interested and curious about the setting. I will await the OOC. I am developing ideas, but need to think it over and make sure they're compatible with what you have in mind.
