Current For the same reason it was able to gather its power, I will not bow to it. Freedom is for everyone; not just the loudest voice.

Bio

I return from a long hiatus, in the hopes that roleplaying has once again returned to the art of inclusive storytelling. Prove me right and I will stay. Prove me wrong and I will go.

God I hope so, Casual has turned into free and advanced has turned into low casual.

I think that's more on the responsibility of the GMs than on the site. Put your roleplays into the sections where they belong, and start booting people when they don't comply. Sometimes diplomacy requires a 2x4.

It would be nice if GMs posting roleplays which do not conform to the standards of the sections where they are posted would have their roleplays moved to the correct section, though. I don't know if that's the specific target of this complaint or not; I haven't really noticed one way or the other.

Really, though: Incorrectly categorized roleplays make you wish the site would die? I'm not poking at you; I just want to understand why you would feel that way.

I do think the attitudes have gone a bit far in here. A productive comment would be more valuable than trying to "prove a point". Having a strong opinion is fine. Voicing it strongly? Also fine. Getting in somebody's face and making it personal...not fine.

I'm not a mod (and probably never will be), but I am a member here. I'd like to ask the folks in here to reel it in a little and try to get back to a productive conversation and not a pissing contest. That's not meant to be inflammatory; just a simple request. Ignore me if you like.

I'm in a very interesting roleplay which has lasted for over nine months. I have found others before and will find others again. There are a lot of talented writers on this site, and that's enough to get me to stay. Hell, it's basically the only place I've been to with halfway reasonable people. I'm not leaving.
I have my suspicions on what he's working on, but I won't post them here. I'll secretly hope I'm right. ^_^
Turkey Day has everyone's lives in chaos, but that's nothing new. Just remember to buy your gas before you travel; they like to raise the gas prices after the holiday, so that you're forced into either buying overpriced gas or being stranded out-of-town. Dirty pool, I say. I stock up before the trip, when the prices are lower.

At any rate, I'll probably still be around. I never had much of a family, so my obligations are limited.
Yeah, my Creep-O-Meter always registers maximum readings whenever she's around. >_>
I have a process, which starts off discussing things with the GM before involving the player. That way, if I'm wrong about something, or if the GM doesn't like an idea that I have, it can be handled without starting anything in the OOC. Once we both agree, we can start discussing the ideas with the player. It helps to have us both on the same page, so we're not working at cross-purposes.

However, I can say that some of the ideas involve expanding the definition of your ability and what it can do. If it's AG fields that cause flight, then it's probable that Blaise can find other uses for the fields than just flying. It was an idea that I put out there to Kirra, but I'm still waiting to hear back from her. If any of the ideas I suggest, or we talk to you about, violate the spirit of the character, then that's something we would talk about. We certainly do not want to do anything which would invalidate your concept, which is something I work very hard to avoid. I want to keep true to your vision as much as possible without going against the rules or story.

So, once I hear back from Kirra, we'll get you involved and get a discussion going. Sound good?
That's one of the issues I addressed in my PM to Kirra, Kimono: I respect your decision to attempt to explain flight in a way which made sense. I also understand your ability (I think) pretty well, and had some useful suggestions on how to fully explore it. I'm optimistic about your concept, but I'm waiting to hear back from Kirra on my review. Once she and I hash things out, we should be able to have a group chat with you and shore this whole thing up.

I personally like the AG field idea. It's different enough from what I've seen in the past that I am eager to help make it fit into our roleplay. I will do whatever I can to help complete the character.
I have some input on this character (If Kirra did not tell you, Kimono, I am the Co-GM) that I will share through PMs or Skype, when I have my thoughts composed.

PoS: It is unlikely that a simple flight power would give the range of uses this character seems to be trying for. I am tentatively positive about the concept, but we (Kimono and I) will have to iron out some details in chat.
