"Mind if I join you guys?" Hunter asked, throwing one of her hands up a finger feebly trying to stand.

Hunter slunk away from the group towards the other two, they were having something like a small competition of who could outweigh off. Her powers couldn't possibly outweigh any of there's so she should just avoid showing it off. She urged her legs to jump into a small jog to catch up to the other two. This could be a start.
Hunter swirled around and plastered herself against the tree she used as a substitute person. The voice was familiar and there was a lot of strange things around in this school so it shouldn't be a surprise that somebody talked to her without being physically there. With a couple deep breathes, she tore herself off the tree and dusted herself off once again. Alright, just keep it cool. Hunter gave herself a half-assed mental pep talk, which didn't actually boost her confidence.

"Must be hard when you're a social recluse even with people that are 'special' like you." Her shadow commented.

Choosing to ignore the talkative bastard, Hunter trudged her way to the group the reluctance of before seeming to grow heavier and heavier with each step. It felt like someone threw a thousand pound weights onto her shoulders. It was almost unbearable, and it was so tempting to turn back. It was too late then though, she was already right there. Trying to squeeze herself into the little clique.

"Hello." Hunter mumbled awkwardly, with a shaky wave.
The slam of her head against the door it resulted with her parents' words ring within her ears. Completely blocking out most of her music. "Make friends.", and "It'll be perfect! You can make a brand new start.". They had no idea what the school was truly about, so she went along with their blissful ignorance. With a deep breath, she remembered the words of the girl that almost slammed into her. That could be a start. She ripped the earphones out of her ears and stuffed them back into the overloaded pockets. With haste she made her way back to the cafeteria, hopefully to spot the red head. Was she a red head? Hunter thought. Once at the cafeteria, she couldn't spot the group.

"Courtyard... If you're actually willing to try..." Her shadow grumbled, not all to into the idea.

With that she was off, but with a heavy and severe reluctance hanging off her shoulders. Once at the courtyard, she immediately took refuge in the trees' shadows. She watched the group converse, and thought about what she could do and say. She recited it out, pretending the tree itself was a person. She mumbled an awkward hello, and an uneasy and stuttering introduction.

"How charismatic, you are truly a conservationist! I'm sure the trees would love to be friends with you." Her shadow snorted sarcastically.
I agree
Hunter slowly rose from the sink, water continuing to run down her face. One arm propped itself up using the edge of the sink, and scrubbed her cheek roughly. She tried desperately to ignore the continued nagging of her shadow about her disgusting and irresponsible habits. Progress was slow, and that was because she wasn't taking care of herself all too good. With a groggy roll of her eyes, she gave her face a final scrub and exited the washroom swiftly. With the same haste she cafeteria and its ever growing population. Again, she occasionally shoulder checked anybody that didn't give her sufficient room to move. It was suffocating in the crowded room.

"Move it." Her shadow would growl for her, even though it knew full well that nobody could hear it.

With haste she made her way to the dorms, head low once again. Avoiding the eyes of anything that passed by her, or ignoring the friendly greetings of teachers. It made her look like an asshole, but it was something she was used to doing so well. She was still locked in the mindset that everyone was probably giving her a condescending look or worse. Lost in her own abyss of thoughts, she hadn't noticed the door that led to the dorms and slammed right into it. It rewarded her with her shadow going into a fit of hysterical laughter.

"Shut up, asshole!" Hunter snarled.
Hunter narrowed her eyes at the ever growing line of students, and gave another exasperated and defeated sigh. Her shadow tugged her along again, but this time she wasn't as compliant as before and veered off towards the washrooms. She pushed her way into the washroom, trudging her way to the sinks and immediately dunking her head down into it. The shadow glared fiercely at her, and rolled its imaginary eyes. She turned on the sink, and began to powder her face with water.

"I told you to retire early last night, but do you ever listen to me? No!" The shadow drawled angrily.

Hunter didn't respond and only continued to scrub away the fatigue and exhaustion that weighed down her already heavy eyelids.
Hunter just entered the Cafeteria with the large group that seemed to just come out of nowhere. It threw her off balance slightly, and resulted in her almost accidentally body checking one of them. A mumble of a soft and slightly irritated sorry, and she was off again. She was never the type for groups, or cliques. Well she was the town thief, it was hard to trust one let alone letting them into your little clique. With her head bowed down pretty low, she avoided them as best she could. Focusing on the floor, and her loud music. She zigzagged around the others, occasionally shoulder checking one of them because of her miscalculation of steps. With each shoulder check, her shadow seemed to grow more agitated.

"Watch where you're going!" Her shadow shrieked with its gruff voice.

"They can't hear you, so just shut up..." Hunter mumbled, and prayed to some godly force out there that none of them heard her.
Agitation now bubbled fiercely in her shadow. Dark whips flaring out faintly from its shape. Hunter began to grit her teeth, feeling the agitation creep up her spine to whisper coldly in her ear. With a huff and a heavy sigh of defeat, she shot up and glared at the invisible force in front of her. She clumsily stepped over the books, the fatigue and awkwardness in her joints causing an uneasy landing on the other side of her paperback and hardcover fortress. She smoothed the wrinkles away on her black over sized sweater and jeans.

"I should probably put those away..." Hunter grumbled turning back to her castle of books. "I don't want any of the teachers to be on my ass just after a day."

If her shadow could, it would roll its eyes at her then shake its head. A force tugged Hunter away from the mess, and she reluctantly obeyed. She stuffed her fists into her overflowing pockets and trudged towards the cafeteria to grab a well needed bite.
Well, they do say go big or go home..
I'll post when someone decides to bother Hunter
