A cold shiver ran down Dactrin's spine, not the first since he had been laying unconscious in the cold and damp room. This shiver was the deepest yet and the chill rocked him hard enough to finally wake him from his deep sleep. If he had been dreaming he couldn't remember what it had been about. He heard voices now, a soft pounding coming from across the dimly lit room followed by a female's voice calling out to someone else. Dactrin groaned softly and blinked his eyes, the room just barely lit but showing he was not alone, confirmed by the voices. A robotic sound caught his ears, coming from the same place where the other voices were as well. Slowly, Dactrin sat himself up and exhaled deeply. A plume of visible air blew from his mouth, his warm breath reacting to the cold air of the room. He shivered again and clasped his arms around himself. Brushing some of his hair off of his brow, he looked to where he was hearing the sounds of others.

Across the room was a glass dome of sorts, trapping something inside. He couldn't quite see from the dim light but he could see a woman searching the glass for whatever was inside. Close by was a robot of sorts, more like an advanced looking android. Though he heard the sounds just moments earlier he seemed to be motionless at the moment. Dactrin raised his hand and clasped the back of his throbbing head. He had been attacked when walking home. He hadn't seen the attacker, nor even heard him coming. He simply remembers a hard blow to the back of his head and before he fell completely unconscious a dark bag was placed over his head before completely blacking out.

A familiar fear rushed adrenaline through Dactrin's body. He had been captured. He knew the feeling of entrapment all to well but thought those days were over, his freedom hard earned. Had someone figured out his abilities? He had done so well to hide them from the community. What did they want from him? His eyes moved to the group on the other side of the room. He pushed himself back from them, creating more distance until his back hit the furthest wall. Reaching his hands out he began to form an orb of light, bright enough to light up more of the room than the bulb above them was accomplishing. He held the light out in front of him, the glow brightly illuminating himself and reaching out to the others as he sat poised and ready to throw the light at them in defense. "W-what do you want?" he called out to them, assuming the gathered group were responsible for his presence here. He glanced around him for a quick moment and his eyes fell upon a couple more motionless bodies on the floor. What was going on?
Still open?
Ben watched Maya carefully, hands slightly raised and ready if she needed help. "Perhaps you should sit down? I'm afraid I'm not a doctor so I'm not quite sure how I can help. If it's dislocated though, it should be fairly easy to pop back in to place, no?" His offered help was meager and not backed by much confidence. But his concern on his face was evident as he barely took his eyes off of her while the group began to settle and share introductions.

Shay looked to Matt as he staggered back to the group. He didn't seem to be such an optimistic guy. "Well there's, uh, stuff across the beach still, some luggage over there. I'm sure we could find some things." Shay tried to sound optimistic but she knew she probably sounded as dismal as Matt. Thankfully Marcus spoke up and began collaborating ideas to get them on a path for safety and communication for air control. He seemed to have been in a situation like this before. She wasn't sure what sort of experience he had but, whatever it was, she was grateful to have him here now.

Ben stepped to the side as Marcus began to take control. He seemed to know how to help Maya and that gave him comfort. Ben glanced around as he asked the group if they had any knowledge that could help them until they get rescued. There was a silence for a moment, the beach waves crashing against the sand, the fire burning across the way around what plane wreckage was left. Then, breaking the dispspirited silence, Jack spoke up. He had been quietly listening, gathering his wits about him. He knew he had lost Lacey, knew in reality she had not survived the explosion, but was still holding on to some form of hope that she had crawled away from the wreckage. It was the hope that kept his sanity flowing at this moment. He waited for everyone to share their professions before speaking up.

Shay turned to Matt though spoke loud enough for the group "I'm a student. A traveler. I unfortunately don't have any medical knowledge" she admitted.
She lowered her voice to speak just to Matt. She was actually quite fascinated by his profession as a photographer. She wondered how many places he must have been to capture the best shot. Unless of course he was simply a local photographer. Shay giggled at Matt's last retort. "Yeah, it sure sounds like it. I wonder what he does. But, you're a photographer? What sort of photos do you take?"

Ben shared himself saying "I'm a writer" keeping his reply simple. He was hesitant to begin revealing himself fully to these strangers. He turned to look to Jack, the last one of the group to say anything, or much at all. Before Jack could say anything Ben pointed towards him. "You're Jack Brand, no? Famous unstable baseball player?" He grinned, remembering as he had contributed to the writings that covered his meltdowns a few years back. It was entertaining and great reader content. "You're clean now, no? Clean and stable and..." he trailed off, realizing he had a fiance and the woman was not with the group. His smile dropped as he cleared his throat and glanced the other way. Thankfully the awkward silence didn't last as Ben's brazen approach didn't phase Jack very much; he had become used to these sort of reactions from people who knew who he was.

Jack confirmed for the group what Ben knew to be true. "Yes, I'm Jack Brand, famed baseball player and most popular advertised train wreck. Yeah, I'm fine now, thanks for your concern." His voice rang clear with sarcasm. He turned to Marcus. "I have some medical training from my team. We got hurt a lot out on the field. I'll help where I can" he offered. His voice was low and soft, a melancholy sound that would come across as comforting and in control of his thoughts while for him it was an echo of his loss coming to understanding and surrender. Wanting to stay busy he brought himself carefully to his feet, holding his hand to his bruised side. He looked to Marcus and said "so where do we start? Should we get a fire going?"

Ben folded his arms across his chest. "I think miss Maya here needs to be tended to first" he said curtly.

On a side note.I totally didn't realize Blox' character is named Jason. So when you see Jason in the post, it's not in reference to that character, it's in reference to a deceased person from Nasreen's past.

When I first read your CS I thought you were trying to tie our characters then I realized it was just a coincidence. It'll be interesting how she reacts when she learns his name.
Just saw this thread open up! Thanks for making the second one. I'll create my CS between today and tomorrow.
