Name:
Lena Hemsworth
Age:
18
Gender:
Female
Power(s):
Pyrokinesis and Burning Touch
Weaknesses/Limitations:
Cold weather impairs Lena's abilities. It won't completely stop them, but it makes it take longer for her to burn others and harder for her to make fire. This is why Lena often keeps rooms she's in cold, and why her favorite season is winter. After Lena creates fire she has no ability to stop it. Once it is created she has no power over it. Maybe in the future she could learn to control it, but to Lena's knowledge she can only create the fire not control it. Lena's burning touch has been steadily getting worse the older she gets. One of her greatest fears is that once she is an adult she won't even be able to touch something without burning it. At the moment it takes about 5 minuets before Lena will give serious burns. This is why for the most part she has no problem brushing up against someone or giving a hug. There is no limit to the amount of fire Lena can create, but there are curcumstances where she will make less then usual. Lena cannot create fire without feeling some extreme. Extreme happiness, sadness, fear, lust, energy, hatred anything that is above normal. With lots of mental training Lena could learn to control herself and live life in these extreme, but the need to push out her emotions through flames will never go away.
Equipment:
Lighter, Gloves, Tic Tacs, A necklace with a small vial that has some sort of liquid. All of this is held in sort of a utility belt.
Personality:
Lena is a sort of quiet. She likes to keep a neutral feel to her. No to sad, but not to happy. Just a flat line. Lena has many fears most of them surrounding herself. Is she really a demon or the devil? Will she ever find someone who she could stay with forever? Would letting the fire go be a good thing? Lena enjoys dancing mostly slow songs, but when she is alone and she knows no one can see her she will dance to songs that really make her feel. This is only because when she dances to songs like this fire will come, and it is beautiful. Lena is a very kind person. She has always taught herself to never get mad at someone, never over react. Lena is reclusive. She yearns to be the sort of person who could do whatever they wanted and be friends with everyone, but she know that she can't be. She doesn't want to hurt anyone. Hurting people is Lena's greatest fear. The only time this fear is surpassed is when she decides a person deserves to be burned, or she is so scared she cannot help herself.
History:
When Lean was born her powers manifested rather quickly. It started with her burning touch. When she was only three her mother constantly worried that she had a fever cause her body was always hot. Every time she was taken to the doctor Lena's mother was informed that Lena was perfectly fine. At the age of four it started to become a serious problem. Lena slept in her parents bed one night because of a bad nightmare. When Lena woke up her parents had very bad burns on their arms and anywhere they had touched Lena. They realized that their daughter was not quite normal. They became very protective. They knew if anyone found out that they would take Lena away. So too reduce some risk Lena was home schooled.
When she reached the age of 11 Lena started wanting to play with other kids. She knew why she couldn't but she wanted to. She was tired of being cooped up in her room or in the back yard where the fence rose like a mountain above her. After much coaching Lena's parents finally let her go to public school. Lena was so excited for her first day, but her parents were worried sick. It was the perfect day. Lena even made two friends. This of course being more then she had ever had. Around this time a new hurtle reared its ugly neck. And the hurtle had a name. A name called fire. Lena was alone in her room dancing to a song she particularly liked when with a flick of her hand fire erupted. It was there and gone in a flash, so fast that Lena didn't even notice. Again she twirled her hand and a flame followed her. This time she saw. She hopped it was only a trick, but the more she waved, flailed, and flicked the more fire came. Lena found herself wondering how she was going to get this to stop. After three hours of not moving at all and lying on the cold floor of her bed room listening to whatever happened to come on Lena moved. Thankfully no fire came. She flicked, flailed and twisted, but nothing. Lena hoped it stayed this way, but that was not her fate.
A bully named Hannah had her eyes on Lena. After a fight with words Hannah told Lena that she better watch out because after school she was going to kick her ass. Hannah found Lena jus the two of them. Hannah yelled threatening words, but made no move. Until Lena's cockiness rose to a higher level then it had been in a long time. Lena jeered Hannah tired of making herself small. Hannah came to hit Lena, and before she could Lena grabbed her arm fire erupted burning Hannah. Hannah screamed that she was the devil or a freak or that she must be a demon. Lena had to think of something quickly. So she pulled from her pocket a lighter, and yelled back at her that she was the one who was crazy.
Hannah thankfully never spoke of it, but that night Lena was so scared she didn't even return home. She ran into woods off the high way. She couldn't stop the fire. It kept coming and coming. Maybe it was her rage or maybe it was just her weakness. Lena accidentally caught a bush on fire, and then a tree. It spread around her and in fear Lena made more fire then she ever had before while running from the bright light. When she could run no longer Lena fell to her hands and knees. She looked up at the sky which was now covered and smoke, and thought to herself that this was were she would die. Too her surprise as the flames burned away around her she felt no pain. In fact she felt happier then she had in a long time. The warmth surrounded her and she danced in the flames. Shooting out more fire. She laughed and jumped from burning tree to burning tree. When she finally realized that she might have caught the entire forest on fire or worse Lena ran. her clothes thankfully were only slightly burned. Not in the best shape, but not entirely burned off. They covered what needed to be covered. Lena got home, and other then parents worried sick and a long grounding Lena had the best night of her life.
Leaving home for college is a large step for Lena. She isn't sure she's ready for it. To be alone is to be free, and freedom is not something Lena has the luxury of. If Lena does not keep control she could burn everything she loves to the ground.
