This isn't exactly a government function so i don't see why transparency is needed for the setup of a roleplay
He's nice. And also knew to send a PM instead of posting four words in a reply to this post.
I've tried recruiting this a few times in a few places but i always get "i'm busy" and "school is a bastard" so now with the silver lining of school being closed in a good chunk of the english speaking world i thought i'd try my luck at this again.

I've had a craving for this kind of RP. In a near-future world where technology similar to what you would see in things like Ready Player One or Sword Art Online. Basically the premise is that the current hot new fad in the videogame world is Full Dive Virtual Reality, it essentially involves your body 'going to sleep' in a sense while your mind stays active and is uploaded into a virtual world, so you could play videogames with unprecedented realism because you are quite literally there in the world, of course with all of the safety nets that fantasy offers, like respawns and redos, etc.

I was quite hoping for a MMO type deal, In a Sword&Sorcery setting, similar to Lord of the Rings or even World of Warcraft to make a more suitable theme. Basically a time similar to the middle ages, a time of castles, kingdoms and knights except with a healthy splash for fantasy, where magic is taught, monsters are killed and adventurers roam the land solving problems and side quests.

Anyone interested in it? I'm mostly active on Discord, PM for info

Me and a past friend did set up a roleplay which i was really looking forward to but they said they needed to work on school and i haven't heard from them in over a month so i am opening this up for public recruiting because i was really enamored with the idea.

It was a rather simple premise. It's in the near future where Full-Dive VR games are possible, think Sword Art Online or similar. Basically your consciousness is loaded into the videogame and you play it as if it was real, you see, feel, hear everything, of course open to further setup. The current idea was that the game was a Sword&Sorcery style, similar to Tolkien's work but popularized further by Dungeons&Dragons. Vaguely medieval-ish with knights, mages, the works. The world is fully open to set up as well.

I had worked out a character already so all i would need is mostly the setup of the real and virtual world. Hoping the have some concept of dichotomy between the real world and the virtual, differences and overlaps, etc.

Anyone interested in that kind of setup? I'm also on the discord most days if you want to catch me there, replies would be quicker too.
I have three great loves when it comes to roleplaying.

  • Slice of life/Romance. Just people being people. I love edge cases, not your everyday day-to-day, your downtrodden, underrepresented, all the edgy stuff you see just with a blunter edge.
  • Character drama. You're a living, breathing human being are you not? You have likes and dislikes, you have problems and stress, you have interests and hobbies. Let's explore the characters as full characters, not just a name with a short description.
  • Worldbuilding. Honestly i could do this just in lieu of RPing, i could spend months setting up an intricate world and all of the various connective tissues your average world has, the politics, economics, friendships, strives, past wars and alliences, history and future, etc. This can be either High fantasy or Sci-fi. If it is Sci-fi i must insist on Mechs though.

I have a few RPs that i do over and over again. The first of which being a generic highschool romance. Except with the small twist of it being MxM, by far my favorite pairing is a JockxArtsy student, with the artsy student being of the rather shy variety with an interest in fashion while not really being bothered by what gender labels are on said piece of clothing.

Second one being one that happens in a Mental Hospital, the low severity kind, recovering addicts, severe anxiety, depression and any results of when those two are felt in extreme. Mostly just for my love of character dramas, to understand something you might need to break it first, so a lowest point for a character is often interesting to explore.

The third would by the one with the most world building, I enjoy High Fantasy around medieval Sword&Sorcery settings as well as Space age Sci-fi, though on the latter i must insist on Mechs being. This one is by far the most open ended since half the fun is setting the damn thing up.

So, anyone interested?
