The conflict had come to a close so suddenly that Mimi wondered why she’d worried in the first place. Though it looked for a moment as if the boy and the larger man were going to argue, in the end the former looked far too tired to actually do anything. She floated down once the red-wrapped girl had started away, and was tempted to follow after her. But as had been aptly demonstrated during the encounter, she and the large man were very well-equipped to handle themselves. It was a pity, really, the few words Mimi had exchanged with her were pleasant, perhaps the first she’d had with another person in a long while. On the bright side, this meant that she could make new friends with the boy and the blindfolded man. Her lanterns moved her back up high, and over the two as the large man retreated back into the forest. He had a harsh tone to his voice, unpleasant, like stone grinding on stone; she was glad when he was gone, and the fact that he was going with the red-wrapped girl made her less saddened by her decision to stay. So, the girl remained hovering above, seated upon the tiny platform of lanterns, watching the blindfolded man and the energetic boy.
Sounds good, I've got most of a CS ready, once I get a bit of the backstory I'll PM it to you and we can hash out what'll work and what won't, I'm flexible to whatever!
Mimi’s attention turned to the bear as it scampered away. Perhaps it wasn’t so fierce after all, the poor little thing must have just been angry. She didn't notice Sable leaping down, but the lanterns recoiled away so as not to impede her fall. Something shimmered on the ground below, and she figured that must have been what Sable was after. It was certainly shiny enough to be considered a prize, and after such a riveting bout of cooperative and tactical combat it… She paused, was the air a bit more tense? A few people went for the gem, and Mimi had an uneasy feeling that the first person to grab it was going to make a few enemies on the spot. If a battle was to break out over it, she wanted to be out of its way. But then what of the red girl? Did she even need to worry about her? She had that burly looking man with the fire accompanying her, surely she could fend for herself with him at her side. So then, what of the others? Ugh, conflict always confused her. As the other lanterns returned to her own platform, Mimi resigned to simply observe, and only involve herself if someone seemed in true danger.
*confetti*
This looks really interesting! Are you still accepting new players?
Oh! There was an opportunity! The woman wrapped in red had taken refuge atop a tree branch, and down below, the massive beast howled in fury as it slashed chunks away from the base. Mimi didn't doubt the woman, who had moments prior been leaping and slashing with agility akin to the wind itself, had a back up plan of her own if the tree fell, but then why resort to back ups? Mimi gave a sharp whistle to the girl on the branch, and with a wave sent a slew of lanterns over to her. They formed a tiny platform, clattering together, and though it didn't look stable, Mimi herself was testament that they would hold her. "C'mon!" she waved, a wide grin at her lips.
There were more people present than Mimi had seen in her whole life. They bustled in buildings and alleys and streets, and she was perhaps as excited as she had ever been. Who were they? Why were they here? This was the section of the forest she was the least familiar with, much to her shame -and seeing how many wonderful people were present, disappointment as well. She might have wanted to meet each and every last one of them, get their names and hopes, hear their stories. The little area contained endless entertainment. The high tops of the trees gave her a vantage point on it all, but she was perched atop no branch. Instead, she sat upon a tiny platform of lanterns, all twinkling even in the remaining light of the sun. But soon that would be gone, and they would gleam with their full potential, which she found just lovely. But from where she was she could do little, which was not going to work. So, with a passing thought the lanterns began to descend, uneven and splitting to balance her as she stood upright. Was she presentable? Most of the people were wearing more armor than she was, but then she only had the plated robes to work with. Her hair was unbound, but that was how it always was, and she wasn't willing to part with such a traditional look. Once a passing huntswoman she had encountered had noted it as "cute", and that had more or less cemented her decision. Mimi kept the Match slung over her back, for though the thing was fairly harmless she did not want to off-put any potential friends. She wasn't halfway down when the peace was broken, however. A beast, larger than what she was use to seeing int he forest nights, barged in from the treeline and started for the small gathering of people nearest to it. By the light, what was it? Why was it so angry? Was it not too bright out still for it to have revealed itself? To many questions, too little time for answers. The lanterns swooped down, carrying Mimi with them, and she circled low above the fight, scanning around to see if any of the people were in immediate danger. Her fingers twitched, a few of the lanterns separated from the pack beneath her as if to prepare to shield the combatants from the bear. Still, she couldn't help but hope they would not kill it. Poor thing.
Posted there then, thanks! The character is very much a "support" kind, I'm not sure if roles are necessarily advertised but I figured that'd be useful.
Appearance: Tall and loosely armored throughout. She wears layers of robes with plates upon the shoulders, chest, faulds about the waist, and gauntlets about the wrists that extend out over the tops of her hands. Long, charcoal-black hair falls about her like an avalanche, framing a lithe form chiseled from a life of physical training. Height: 5’9 Weight: 120lbs Hair Color: Pitch black Eye Color: A warm reddish-orange Name: Miramil (Goes by Mimi) Age: early twenties History: Mimi grew up within a glade in the lush Rivenwood forest. Her father absent at the time of her birth, she was raised by her mother, who had secluded herself amidst the babbling brooks and breaching peaks of the region. Here Mimi was taught the important of light and dark, and the healing and destructive powers the two respective forces contained. Her early life was spent learning the forest, navigating it by day and night, and learning it like the back of her hand. It was her home, after all. She had to learn to survive, for there was no fighting the creatures that stalked about at night. Even still, when later on she learned the few offensive techniques that she knows, she never once harmed anything within the borders of the forest. In her mid-teens her mother gifted her with lanterns, and taught her to weave herself with the light. She learned the importance of protection that the light would bring, and the way in which darkness could be sewn together with it. On her twentieth birthday, her mother vanished. Mimi was not afraid, nor was she saddened by the loss, for somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew her mother would leave her one day. The only harm came from the solitude, and she longed most for companionship in adventure. Armed with her mother’s teachings, and a life of labor within the glade, she set out in search of not the relics, per say, but those in search of them. These mercenaries she’d heard about, these treasures that were ravaging the land with gossip and excitement, they would provide her with adventure, and she was sure that along the way she’d find someone to help, and journey with. Personality: Mimi is lighthearted and naïve to the world outside of Rivenwood, but that is not to say she is foolish or gullible. She is very adamant about her opinions and beliefs, but loves to debate with others, though arguments for her are more just a front to learn more of the world, and an excuse to engage with other people. She’s fascinated by others, how they think, how they work, what they do and why, what they feel and what makes them feel. To her, people are the treasures on these expeditions, and she hates to see harm befall anyone. That being said, she has, as all people do, her limits. Weapons: The Match: A long staff, wooden in appearance but cool to the touch, like metal, and impervious to the burns of fire. In fact, one end of the Match is black as a wick might be, and is prone to being lit with a vibrant and undying flame. In her earlier years, this was her ward in the darkness of Rivenwood. Abilities (Magic): -Lumancy: Mimi can control light, craft it in minute amounts, and suck it away in places to leave only darkness. Though not inherently offensive, it can be used to create “hardlight” barriers with enough energy, and in a small, concentrated area, can produce blistering, white heat. -The Lanterns: They are about the size of a forearm, and even Mimi is unsure as to how many there truly are, as whenever she tries to count them, they shift and move too much to allow it. The number seems to shift, and at times the estimate number ranges anywhere from a dozen to upwards of fifty. Where the excess lanterns go when they are not present none can be sure. Perhaps they simply fade from the world, for surely they cannot be real. After all, the tiny yet bright flames within their glass cages never seem to go out. Mimi controls these lanterns as if they were a second mind. Sometimes they act without her conscious thought, and wander around her with the same curious fascination that she herself possesses. Though they possess no innate offensive capabilities, she uses them most often for traveling and lighting paths at night. When in combat, Mimi can use her understanding of Lumancy to create hardlight from the light of the lanterns to protect herself an others. Other: She tends to smile a lot, even in circumstances wherein happiness is perhaps inappropriate. This is not due to disrespect per say, but all the same she herself doesn’t quite understand it either.
Finished the sheet, should I post it here or direct to the CS thread?
