Gregory's head raised up at the sound of the red haired girl's voice. Guess his search had been more obvious than he thought. "Keys? Yeah, I'm looking for my keys. Could've sworn they were in my pocket. But no skin off my back, I guess." he managed to say, tripping over his words. Even in this weird as hell situation, he needed to make it seem like he wasn't a freak with a golden tiny man following him around. He was relieved when the attention was once again turned towards the aide. Apparently they had chicken noodle soup available. That didn't quite make the fact that thy had been drugged and kidnapped better. He was also glad that his belongings were safe, though he hadn't brought much to the party except what he had in his pockets and his bike. "Chicken noodle soup sounds great, but do you guys possibly also have something to drink? Preferably some sort of stiff drink. Maybe a scotch if you have it. I'm the kind of person who drinks away my worries, and getting kidnapped by a sketchy hospital who claim to be doing it for my 'safety' is something I would definitely consider a worry." Gregory looked over at the red haired girl. She looked pretty young, but now wasn't exactly the time to card someone. "Maybe my friend over here would like something as well. I've always been more of a social drinker." At this point, couldn't tell whether he was just joking about the alcohol or legitimately asking his kidnappers for some. Either way he could really use a drink.
@IktomiTo be honest, Acron knows he isn't gonna fight, and Alexander knows he isn't gonna fight, but anybody who knew the both of them have good reason to think they might fight.
Prime District Entrance || Literally bumping into Acron|| Still Annoyed
While Alexander had addressed the older man, the young behemoth next to him was the one to respond. Grabbing his bag rather unexpectedly, Alex couldn't help but get a little disgruntled, to say the least. The brute of a man appeared to be a Club, probably of low ranking. But, if this was the initiation he had to go through to start his studies, he would have to handle it for know. He would put the giant in his place later.
He was surprised when the old man mentioned his ring. He had realized it was a Trinket of some sort when he had found it, but he hadn't known it was a form of Diamond magic. No wonder he couldn't figure out what it did. He would probably have to find someone with more expertise on the subject. Or not. He never really liked Diamond magic, far too mystical. His train of thought was broken by the old man taking a large step into his personal space and grabbing his hand. Alexander almost reeled back by the sudden step, until he saw the mark forming on the back of his hand. Guess that meant he was initiated. He also was surprised by a piece of something dropped in his hand by the old man as well. Turning it over in his hand, he saw it was a piece of liquorice. It was a bit strange looking, but it reminded him of the liquorice he uncle used to give him when his father was at a formal event. Alexander's uncle would look after him during the event, teaching him a few spells his father deemed to dangerous for him at the time. Reminded of the pleasant memory, Alexander deposited the candy on his pocket and bowed once again. "Thank you, sir. I wish you a life of power and fame." Alexander said. The old man, while a Club, seemed to have a wisdom held by few. One of those rare people who Alexander saw as worthy of his respect.
Taking a small slip of paper the man had outstretched to him, Alexander saw he had one of the better dorms. No surprise, considering his social stature. And Kaela of the Healing Hearts was in his dorm. He had heard of her powerful healing abilities, and hoped to befriend such a powerful ally. He didn't know the other two though. One was an Attendant, so probably just some submissive sex-freak. The other name, Jagred Degray, seemed familiar, but he was more of surprised that a Diamond would be placed in a dorm with two Hearts and a Spade. Probably some mistake.
While Alexander was concentrated on the paper, he wasn't quite concentrating on what was in front of him, an action that was punished when a small white-haired man crashed into him while running backwards.
"Ah! Watch where you're going next time!" he yelled as he hit the ground, his suitcase flying out of his hand. He wasn't in the mood for this, and just wanted to deposit his belongings at his dorm and get on with his studies. Looking over to his accidental assailant, he couldn't help but recognize his features as those belonging to the men of the House of the Raging Winds. Great, he would probably have to defend himself against the raging, murderous freak.
@IktomiI was thinking about having Alexander bump into Acron on his way to the steward, but I'm also okay just sending him to his dorm to move the story along.
Prime District Entrance || Trying to get this whole "initiation" business over with. || Annoyance
Crowds of Clubs and Diamonds cluttered the streets like confetti after a parade, chatting on about their plans for schooling at the Spire, or possibly a story they had told countless times before at bars, in an attempt to form new kinships to last them a lifetime. Hearts and Spades strolled through the streets, citizens politely making way for their royal and noble classes. At least, some were made way for. Others were being knocked on their asses as people bumped into them. And on the first day as well. What an embarrassment. The whole scene was one that reeked of a general chaos.
And not the kind that Alexander liked.
Keeping to the edge of the crowd where it was clearest, Alexander sighed. He came to the Spire to strengthen his magic, not to get caught up in a organizational nightmare. Scanning past the turmoil, he saw a line-up of a couple of people who looked like they knew what they were doing, most with a small queue leading up to then. All except for one, an older man who appeared to have the fragility of soggy research notes, standing next to a giant door of a man, probably a club. Or the fragility of his parent's marriage, if you wanted to go there. No wonder not many people were lining up to interact with the old veteran. But if it meant he could get through the whole experience faster, Alexander would go for it.
Prepared to push through the crowd, he was glad to find that a hand gestures, expectant looks, and an "excuse me" or two cleared a decent path to the steward. It seemed most here already understood Alexander's importance. And the few who didn't would learn soon enough, or regret it. But that was problem for another time. For now he just had to get through this elderly man's initiation, whatever that may mean. Once standing in front of the man, Alexander took a deep bow, hands outstretched elegantly. Signs of respect were important, even to those who may be below him.
"Salutations, good sir. I am Alexander of the Diamond Looking Glasses, and 2nd of Spades. You appear to be someone who I can talk to about my initial processing as a student of the Spire. Please, enlighten me to what I must do so I can quickly get to my learning and educational betterment as soon a possible." Hopefully this would be through with quickly.
