The constant wars have not just taken their toll on the Jedi, however. Everyone's favorite Gungan, for instance, has been affected by the Sith. Jar Jar went from a bumbling, but happy go-lucky country bumpkin to a representative of his people...however, he's lost his happiness. His true companions, as well.
Padme lost her entire planet to conflict, and her life to grief.
Obi Wan resents Anakin for the loss of Qui Gon and, subsequently, the loss of his innocence. Though he came to accept Anakin as his brother that, too, would turn out to be for the worst, as more heartbreak came when Anakin betrayed the Jedi. With this we can assume only one thing: it was not Anakin who was prophesied to bring balance to the Force, but rather Darth Vader. After order 66, only two Jedi- two TRUE Jedi- remained. Obi Wan, and Yoda. And only two TRUE Sith remaind. Palpatine and Darth Vader.
Though, in the end, Yoda and Obi Wan's deaths and, later, Palpatine and Darth Vader's death, would leave the Force unbalanced...as Luke remained.
