@PKRaptorThe group of men approached Wayne and slapped a pair of steel handcuffs on his wrists. A small needle was stuck into his arm and Wayne slowly blacked out.
Up above the park an amused sniper watched with amazement. "I have got to get me some more of these bad boys."
No-one in the park had a clue of the event that had just taken place. The old lady kept feeding her ducks, the drug deal continued and the family enjoyed their picnic unaware that an "old man" had just been shot on a bench just two hundred metres from where they sat.
@Burning KittyThe Gang Bangers'
Chevrolet Impala slammed into rear end of the van. It's front crumpled against the reinforced back doors leaving a large dent. The driver of the car flew forwards towards the windscreen, the seatbelt laying un-clipped beside him.
The driver of the TDP Van had been waiting patiently for the mission to be complete. He was a young man who had only been with the organisation for a month excluding training and this was his first real assignment. Looking out the window he saw things going to shit. People were fighting everywhere and one of his teammates had even been shot. Picking up a walkie talky he spoke into it, "Code 33, requesting backup. Bring in the bright man."
30 seconds later and a brilliant glow shone over the parking lot. The Defiance Project's literal Golden Boy floated into the scene, Irradiance. The TPD agents parted allowing him a path straight towards the sisters. As he approached them he launched a volley of energy beams at the funeral goers, not enough to kill any but certainly incapacitate them. He continued until he was face to face with the Dixon sisters. With a still beaming smile he shouted over the ringing of the sonic grenade, "So sorry about the way they approached you! You see, the higher ups thought this would be the perfect time to recruit you! Thought the whole funeral thing might weaken your powers! Well you sure showed them!" The ringing finally stopped. "We think you could be great assets to the team, now what say you let go of your hold on these innocent people and we talk like people?"
@Deadlyrose9641Carl stepped forward to pick up the now empty weapon as Darla walked away. He paused and a computer mind whirred. Advanced trigonometric calculations appeared in his head and invisible laser beams mapped out a tragectory path. With unnatural speed and strength he threw the gun. It flew through the air and hit Darla square in the back of the head knocking her over. He strolled over and picked up the bag of money. "As for this money, I believe its mine, I Swindled it fair and square." He gave a throaty laugh and kicked her with a sythetic metal leg.
@Raptra"Yes, yes you are." The grey suit replied. The black suit chipped in saying, "As I'm sure the both of us know, crime is on the rise. In particular super powered crime. In this day and age the world gets threatened on a daily basis."
The Teal Suit, "That's where you slot in. Our employers have been monitoring your actions for the past few months and we have to say, they're impressed."
Grey suit, "Now wouldn't it be cool if, instead of nightly patrols, you had a team working twenty four hours a day giving you a constant news feed, telling you where to be and who to fight. That and more can be yours if you choose to join the Defiance Project." Three men became two and two men became one until just the man in black remained. He reached for a slice of pizza. "Speech over. I can't tell you more until I know if you're in or not. So wadd'ya say?" He turned behind him, "Yo! Little Bro! You can come out now, we know you're in here somewhere." Looking back to Dynara he smiled.
