"Oh, uh... well not really," Nova admitted somewhat sheepishly. Though most of her trepidation originated from the fact that walking around the hangar out of uniform made her feel uncharacteristically self-conscious, Even more than strolling around the city had before. Granted, no one was really paying attention to either pilot as they made their way forward, the technicians and engineers understandably focused elsewhere.

"Perks of getting into the latest and greatest program to come out of the geeks over in development, I guess." The pilot glanced over to an Arsenal Walker being prepped before continuing. "Means that despite what the ID says, I don't actually have anything to pilot yet."

"Well, I was issued a Raptor as of about a month ago, at least that's what Lt Noah told me, it's just not... here."

"Oh, uh, sorry. I guess "no" would've worked. What about you? Your Walker get shipped in to Horizon?"

@Krayzikk

Nova peered over the edge of the railing, down to where two of their fellow pilots had decided to bound over in an attempt to expidite their trip.

"Uh, yeah. Right."

A moment's consideration was all she herself took, before rotating on her heels and moving towards the doors to take the standard way down from their position, motioning Ayane to follow her. It was only a handful of seconds later when the two of them stepped out of the building and onto the street, the alarms going off having caused much of the crowd to tear their attention off of the giant machines of war and glancing around, even for the briefest of moments. There, Nova lead Ayane at quick pace, just short of jogging, down the street to where she had parked her chosen mode of transportation.

Far cry from Mia's sportbike, Nova hopped onto the cherry red moped which she had used as a means of getting around the city, whenever they let her off base, that is. Once Ayane found a spot behind her the lunar native started the motor and headed off towards base.

About as quickly as one would expect.

It didn't take too long for them to reach the base, pulling through the gate once proper credentials were provided, and moving into the complex proper.

All in all, Nova was enjoying herself. The past few months had been a mixture of training and familiarizing herself with a very new environment, leaving little in the way of downtime, so having any sort of respite was a much welcome thing. Of course, that meant that the unmistakable alert tone had to cut through the holiday only a few hours after it began.

Any sort of annoyance at the inturruption was quickly forgotten as the alarm sounded again; replaced with urgency and a faint sense of dread in the pit of her stomach.

"I've got room for one more, if anyone else needs a ride back to base," Nova offered, hopping down from the railing. She paused as a thought occured to her, and glanced over to the newcomer. "Actually, Lieutenan- err, Ayane, you have a way to get back to base?"

"Right," Luna nodded in understanding, resting back on her shoulders as she propped herself up on the railing. Normally it wouldn't be that big of a matter to find a Horizon pilot, there weren't so many stationed at the mass driver. However, with Colony Day and the related events ongoing, the task of tracking down any one pilot became that much more difficult.

"Y'know what, there's a flight show going on later this afternoon. For Raptors, of course, you might be able to catch her before they head up."

"Ha, I hear ya," Nova grinned at the not-too-complete trust in luggage handling. Losing personal effects somewhere between Horizon and the other side of the world, or in her own personal case; the moon, was not something she was keen on tempting fate with.

"I don't suppose any of you would be acquainted with a Ms. White, would you?"

"Uh, don't think so..." She replied, her cheery expression taking on a thoughtful frown as she considered for a moment. The name was certainly familiar, though given the rather insular nature of the Horizon base, that wasn't a complete surpri-

The realization hit Nova a second later, and a wave of understanding washed over her face. Feeling a bit sheepish that it hadn't come sooner, Nova began again, "Actually, I do know a Lieutenant White. Well, know of, acquainted is a strong word. She's another pilot. In the Raptor program, that is."

"That her?" She asked Ayane, focusing back on the recently transferred pilot.

Nova started as the pilot jumped up to hang onto the balcony, before pulling herself-and her bag-up over the edge. Thankfully, Nova had enough wits about her to clamp down on the railing to avoid taking an unscheduled leave from the second story.

"Oh. Uh, okay." With visible effort Nova turned away from the parade to face the new arrival, who had identified herself.

"Nova," said pilot introduced, giving a small wave. "Nova Marcus... uh, Lieutenant. You normally travel that light, or only on holidays?"

She indicated the bag Ayane had slung over her shoulder with a curious glance.

"Pilots!" Nova chirped, holding onto the railing to lean forward, peering over her feet towards Ayane. "Oh, uh, pilots too. Walker pilots that is."

Honest! Even if both Beryl and her were very much not in uniform.

As if on cue, a dull thump reverberated down the street, a sound so low that it was felt more than heard as it passed over the three pilots. A few beats later it was followed by a second, deeper thud that was just short of shaking the ground itself. Flashing an excited grin at Natalie, Nova swung her legs around over the thick railing to rotate around, her sandals dangling over the overhang. Sure she had been around plenty of Arsenal Walkers in the last few months, but that did little to stop the rush of childish giddy excitement she felt as she craned her neck down the crowded street towards the sound.

A moment later an armored leg swung into view from around a corner, accompanied shortly after by another heavy footfall that the pilot felt up into her teeth. There was an expectant pause, and then the Arsenal Walker proper stepped into view, a 22 meter metal war machine that seemed to gleam in the intense equitorial sun.

Nova made a small sound born of both awe and general enthusiasm, which she was pretty sure wouldn't carry to her fellow pilots over the sound of the crowd, which had picked up significantly once the Walker came into view.

Nova followed Beryl through the thongs of party-goers up to the balcony, the general commotion from the party itself dying down to a far more managable hum as they exited the building to open air. She hopped up to sit on the balcony's wide railing, blowing aside a lock of silvery hair that swung forward with the motion, one hand spread on the railing to support herself while the other held a solo cup she'd procured from below. Nothing crazy, just some ice water to help fend off the heat, it was a still a fair bit early for her for anything else.

"Thanks for the rescue, pretty sure I was starting to melt," Nova grinned, taking a sip of water before placing the cup down next to her. Indicating the street behind her with the now free hand, she asked, "Any idea when the parade passes through here? Not that it's gonna be hard to miss or anything."

@Silvan Haven@Norik

Nova gave an emphatic wave up at Beryl, which she then turned into show of fanning herself off. Not that it accomplished much more than pushing some more sun-roasted air across her face. "Don't have to tell me twice," She chimed, grinning up at the elevated Beryl despite the sun's glare.

"Yeah, there's AC up there!"

Without another word Nova caught Natalie's hand to weave her through the passersby and into the building.
