Maia put down her cup. "I think we had enough coffee."
'We've been here for a few days,' she rolled her eyes.
Standing up, she adjusted her faded blue dress and held out her hand. "Shall we go?"
((we know you're there...don't hide..))
Maia yawned slightly, patting her mouth as she did so.
"The nightmares are getting to me, but it'll pass," she smiled; the waiter was putting down the platters of food.
She took a bite from the sandwich. She enjoyed the soft white bread, and the crunch of the lettuce.
She never had such luxuries with her foster parents or her actual dreadful parents.
Licking her lips, she wiped the corners of her mouth free of crumbs and took a sip from her coffee. "School's almost out; will you be going home? I will be staying here at the academy."

'Since there's no one to go to," she added to herself.
"So..." she muttered, drawing circles on the table. "How's life?"
Maia almost internally facepalmed. What a horrible opening line!
Shaking her head, she thought to herself. 'Wait..why do I care? Aurora's not a guy; she won't mind!'
Smiling to herself, Maia put herself at ease, fingering the rim of her water glass.
Maia nodded.
She followed Aurora into the cafe, motioning for a waiter to come visit their table.
A tight-lipped man waddled over.
"I would like a tuna salad sandwich with a cappuccino please," she nodded, closing the menu and handed it to the waiter. "Thank you."
Maia noticed Aurora patting her head.
She scowled for a second. 'I feel like a dog,' she muttered, before relaxing.
She felt at peace as her friend stroked her head.
"Let's get going," she finally said, snapping out of her trance.
((awkward moment when you realize your classmate is your uncle...))

Maia skipped, fell, and tripped as Aurora dragged her out the door and into the undiscovered city.
She was amazed at the neon lights of the club, and the friendliness of the strangers.
She didn't exactly "enjoy" the town as the last time she's been here, her father paid her a visit.
The thought evoked a sharp pain in her right arm, and she winced.
Recently, the tattoo has been climbing up her shoulder.
Maia began to have nightmares about her mother singing. "I'm here, Maia. There's no where to hide."
She shivered at the thought of it entwining over her heart or that bastardly angel coming anywhere near here
What would happen then? Would she leave?
She shook her head and pulled on a false smile.
'As long as I live life to the fullest, I'll enjoy my passing," she finally agreed, still slipping over her feet.
Maia slightly bowed at the sudden touch.
"S-sure.." she stuttered.
She still wasn't used to affection.
Maia peered down the balcony and saw Aurora waving frantically.
Giving a slight smile, she walked toward her friend.
"Good morning," she said, still feeling a little drowsy.
Maia yawned, stretching from her bed. Slipping on her ultra-kawaii slippers, she slipped outside.
Hearing two new voices, she watched as the two newest members of her school conversed.
Chuckling, a slight pain echoed in her head.
She jerked around, noting the silver hair of the male.
Keeping his face in mind, she strut down the stairs to find Aurora.
