Just finished off my exams and was looking for a cool RP to flex my (undernourished, generally wimpy) writing muscles on - but are you guys still taking prospective new characters? If you've already got the teams planned out, I'm guessing it'd be extremely awkward for a late arrival by me or anyone else at this point.

@NevixTeam names can be made with the initial of both first and last names anyways. For example Team CRDN, and Ren's full name is Lie Ren, so his surname is used to make the R in JNPR

Well thankfully we've got quite a varied cast of characters, so I reckon we can whip up something more than workable.

So ranting asides, I'm curious how teams will be paired together, I know you said the teams will made be during the first test, or will it be done entirely in IC? Or will we be given some team information before we start?

Teams will be picked by myself and the co-GM in conversation and in IC, you'll be teamed up there. I mean there's not going to be much else you need to know besides the others characters and they'll all be on the character page.

I would say Beacon relied most on it's students for security, but yeah, it's pretty damn easy. It is shown to actually have security guards, but the defense is so minimal it's laughable, and who maintains the servers? Are there even surveillance cameras? Since Ruby ran into Cinder, she would not have had any kind of freedom to disable surveillance, so she would have been spotted, and sharper minds would suspect her whilst she blends in among the students. Would have been neat if she had some kind of stealth Semblance, since her fire seems to be from obtaining a portion of the Fall Maiden's powers. If they showed her stealth semblance, but also her fire abilities alongside it, it would confuse the viewer until it's explained with the Fall Maiden, it would have been something fans could speculate about, while allowing her to stealth around as she pleased.

And I don't think she hacked that, she planted a bug, they're usually stealthier, and are a setup for things to come. Then again she should definitely have been spotted and the systems checked after that, so... I dunno. I guess they just wanted Ruby to have that encounter and they needed a fight sequence?

As for womanly women, there are some pretty big gruff men as well among the students, especially third years, or even a mature woman in Coco, so I think that can be overlooked.

To be fair it was Emerald's semblance that rigged the way the match was seen, but you would think that some of the students and teachers would know something is wrong.

By the way I would say we make our own original story instead of just an AU. I don't think we have to have all the characters from the original show if any, or even passing mentions if we need to, but we should focus on whatever threatens Vault instead.

Well that is more or less the plan. Bits of how the original went will come into play and there will be a couple of canon character appearences, but for the most part we are doing a completley new thing.

Has anyone else noticed Beacon has REALLY shit security?

Cinder's lot are just able to blend in easily, no-one questions why a very womanly person like Cinder is a student and they're not even checked or anything. Cinder's just able to hack EVERYTHING by getting to one terminal and no-one ever notices the fights for the Vytal festival getting rigged or anything, not to mention hacking every Atlas soldier together which implies they share a central server, which is a hillarious design flaw.

Aaaaand they have no system in place for spotting semblance usage during the Vytal festival? No-one's even considered that people may use semblances to cheat before? It's just never happened? And nobody at all noticed Mercury's tin legs? No medical examinations before the festival or body scanners?

Don't even get me started on the dragon that was LITERALLY ON BEACON'S DOORSTEP AND NO-ONE DID ANYTHING ABOUT IT ALL THIS TIME.

...well, at least we still have Neo. Far more entertaining villain than Cinder.

This is actually part of why I wanted to do an AU, since I don't want to try to follow Cinder's plan through or do most of the dumb stuff that happens in Season 3. I'm just hoping what I have in store seems more credible to you guys.
