If someone makes a post before you that would affect the outcome of your post, then just edit it. Or check to make sure no one else posted before you.

No so like you say im going to charge in with my lance and if he gets close enough do a sheild but.

because you worded it as were going to you could still change your action to a block unlike using present tense.

It's entirely possible to write an open-ended action in past tense. As long as you only describe what your character is doing, and not its effect, which you leave up to the player on the receiving end. That's what the "no autohitting" rule is all about.

But you could get interupted and if you write thats what you're doing you just sit there still doing that while getting ones ass beat.

So how are our characters supposed to meet? Not to complain to much about the random spread, but mine just literally fell from the sky.

There isn't anything super wrong with it, it's just weird to read. And the opening is written in past tense because it well...took place in the past. Cake's post sounds like it was written by a fortune teller that was predicting what would happen to the character.

Oh because i'm used to action reaction, which is future tense, because not everything your character does will come true.

Everyone in the arena writes this way.
