Update: I am working on getting a map situated. I will soon have some main quest updates, as well as some side quests. Main quests will be part of the games generic story line - anything that happens that is player based will be improvised. Quests that I set up will have rewards that will be fashioned toward the player/team finishing them, and will take time to complete.

I have some additional info that I will be adding before this begins, including starting gold (in game currency) And basic rules regarding loot that is dropped by mobs / experience gained and so on.
IVIasterJay, Unless you plan on trying to level off other players via duels, you may want to think about some sort of defense other than your skills. The cool down on skills that you have defined due to their usefulness and power will be a good delay before you can use them again in a battle. Especially if a battle is followed with more battles - usually consistent while trying to level ones character is to fight for a while. (I am mainly talking about the second active skill you have) But to be on the safe side unless you wish to keep evading in the early stages (some mobs from the beginning and later will be able to 1 hit you, with no defense)
Necrosis that is perfect, I forgot to mention the screen name or In game name (IGN) Normally (most) games do not let you put spaces in the name, but it can be either or in this. Since I've played a few that will do separated names (first and last) So for future reference, if anybody wishes they can have just one name like: Dragonknight or Metalshadow - But yours is fine and those wishing to do the same are welcome to do so. Side note on your appearance; Most MMORPG's don't start you out looking like a complete badass, BUT, the character creation screen will let you customize your character any which way you want - that being said... If that is how you want your character to look throughout their lives in the VR, any new gear you find (that will be stronger than what you have from the beginning, can be hidden from your character. (For example, if you were to pick up a rare cloak that does not look as good as your starting appearance, you will be given the option to wear it while still keeping the same appearance.. (this seems a bit drawn out for something so simple I apologize. )

Personality and history are of little importance to me, I know that throws up warning signs when it comes to going into detail, and how my GM traits go - but as important as they are, they can be defined in the IC thread - With good writers, anything that you can write in OOC should be brought up in character.
the IRL characters can be anything, except you know, the obvious superpowers and weaponry (just ordinary people) I do want to add that this game is not 'cheap' so if your irl character is living in poverty - they must have been saving a long time for this, or got lucky (a birthday present?)
Here you are: OOC
The box is small in comparison to what you are used to, no overdose of labels and names of companies. It's pretty basic, but in its plain state, you bask in its glory. Across one side of the box is the Latin phrase: Tabula Rasa. It's printed down the corner, mirroring it on the other edge is the name of the game, the long awaited return of the beloved classic: Haven. Opening the box, awaiting inside is the small light headset, that will completely remove you from reality.

The technology would be basic, it reacts off of brain waves, anything that you think within the confines of the headset will happen in the virtual world. A paper slip falls to the floor as you remove the headset from the box, an instructions packet. The paper hits the floor face down, leaving the back page warning staring you directly in the face.

Trash said Photosensitive seizure warning
A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games.

These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects.

Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms. Children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures.

The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions:

Play in a well-lit room
Do not play if you are drowsy or fatigued
If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.

Most would ignore the instructions manual, the possible risks it could warn you about - This choice is left for the users.

Inside the game manual explains the beginning, how to begin the journey. Inside the headset almost like a dream, you can close your eyes and still play -

WELCOME TO HAVEN!

I plan on adding more to this, but at this moment there doesn't need to be a page long post. This is a brief introduction, and layout of a few things needed to be said. Those said above are examples, the weapon qualities can be further explained in detail upon request - I'll eventually add more details later. From the beginning in this OOC we can discuss how people know eachother (if in RL or inside the VR) meet-ups and such. I am going to wait until a few CS's show up before I start working on one as my own.

Surrounding Birth Village will be pretty easy stuff when it comes to 'mobs' - I wont add all the types - but there will be small pheasants (of sorts, and the further you move away from the village, stronger mobs will appear.)

Characters:

Inventory - limitless,(Swiping your hand, or thinking about your inventory will display this, including everything that you have picked up, and equipped.

New Characters Inventory
6 Health Potions.

Changed this up a bit

Name:
Ketsu 'Graves' Shinkoku
Age:
Born in the Edo Period around 1603 Japan.
Turned in his late 20's.
Appearance:

Gender:
Male

Species:
Vampire

Personality: Graves is more passionate about life, than a vampire should be. Although the lust for blood is something that can't easily be fought he finds himself on the borders of morale decisions more than he'd like. The blood reveals something some would say is a monster on Graves face, as it flips his casual laid back attitude towards some kind of junkie. His love-hate relationship with other vampires has its perks, the only vampire he has spent any time talking to was the bounty director Michael.

History: Born and raised in Japan, he was turned during the Edo period, where he had learn to fight with multiple styles including learning the two sword fighting style from Miyamoto Musashi. After he had been turned, his maker as well as the members of the Vampire hideout cast him out for disobeying them. His choice in not doing as they demanded caused him to travel the world until he finally found somewhere he belonged: Blackbury.
He didn't mind living in a city full of supernatural beings, but he figured his act at trying to be normal would soon come to an end, knowing his urge for blood and death would soon come around to greet him at the door.
OOC Is coming tonight, I am adding some finishing touches to everything. Thank you for the interests, and if you don't keep track of this thread I will try and get a PM out to everybody with a link to the OOC. And yes, there can be some logged out activity, So you can and it's recommended that you make your 'real life' character that plays the VR game.
Alright so I've gotten some good feedback as well as some private messages, and I feel I need to answer some questions in more detail. The restrictions will be very very limited, I'm not saying that you can't make a demon class, or a spiritual class. You can begin as a spawn of satan - That being said you are still going to be level 1. Different parts of the map will be mixed with steam punk, classic castles and forests, deserts and so on. There will be islands and bodies of water.

I just answered the question in a private message saying that it will be more based off of classic MMORPG's (sticks and stones) We're talking swords, maces, bows, staffs and what not, but since it has been mentioned that every class will be starting at the same level (meaning if you are a spawn of satan, and you are level 5, and a level 5 swordsmen starts a duel with you, the odds will be the same.) I was going to put an archer in that example - but ranged usually have the upper hand in the beginning of most games.

So if you guys want to come to an agreement to let there be more freedom towards characters just say so. If you guys want some steampunk characters, be my guest. (Again, your starting submachine gun (or whatever it is you wish to have) will be classed as a ranged weapon - Dealing low amounts of damage with a quick fire rate.) The point of this is to not overpower people from the beginning, making you have to go out and earn your experience among killing creatures/monsters and finishing quests

So, to get this straight-He was born in Japan, every human in the country mysteriously discovered his identity and cast him out of his home country as a collective force, leaving literally no way for him to remain in the country where he had been born and raised. He travelled around for a while before moving to America (known for its casual relationship with Japan in history, especially during WWII) and joined the MILITARY, who of course would trust a Japanese guy with no history. Then, naturally, he decided to travel to the UK for some insubstantial reason. Is that about right?

No, his Identity was not discovered, he had to leave for other reasons. I when I was writing it I had other things on my mind and sort of wrote most of that wrong, As stated, he did travel to the US a lot earlier than 1900's so that would be before WWII. The name Shinkoku is what I had originally planned to write the first time I submitted it for his last name. But for a vampire that has been living on earth for this long should not keep the same identity (I don't think an ID from 150 years ago would be smart to hang on to.) So moving around getting new identification to be able to take flights in the more modern world one would have to keep quiet about it. Of course in his travels he could have run into troubles, stayed in a place to long and people may have gotten suspicious.

I am going to edit the CS a bit more, make some things more clear, I got carried away I apologize if this confused you. Thank you for pointing this out.

Also @Draconilian Blackbury as imperfectionist stated, it's a haven, and happen to come across it in his travels? How else would the population of supernatural creatures get to be so big there. If tourists are shot on sight, he had to have shown up pretty early. Also the bit at the end, it's how he feels.
