Anyone else want to chime in with their morphs while we wait? I'm curious to hear about Mario and Max's forms.

I was just going to suggest working around him for the last part of this post, actually. He's only been out for a little more than a week, seems enough time to move on in the post without him, but not necessarily replace. When Terminal gets back, he can write what Iikka was doing in the meantime.

Vivid, it's been a week since anyone edited the collab. My suggestion is you just gloss over Iikka's character and write us to completion so we can post it. Terminal probably got caught up in school or something personal.

I'll give Terminal a few days, and if he doesn't respond, we'll just have to replace him. It'll be a little more difficult to work in a new character at this point, but I'm sure we'll manage.

I graduated in 2012 and have no real plans to go back any time soon...

Congrats! That's good for you. I'm definitely hoping to say that after this December.
Speaking of Iikka, has anyone heard from Terminal? He hasn't posted in the collab recently, or here on RPG. Maybe he's getting back to school like some of us. Hopefully Vivid has an idea of a good time to wait before moving on.

Speaking of which, how was the first week of school, Vivid and DBW? Your's is ongoing, right Dedonus? And are you in school at all, DotCom?

Mine went by too slow, too many instructors explaining their syllabus word for word, as if they fear no one would read it otherwise. It's never all very clever, the only useful parts for me are dates for tests and various sections, and what to expect as far as coursework vs test grade weighting. The only course that did any meaningful work is my Stats and Probability class, which is my only non-Computer Science course for my last semester of college. No slacking off for me!

Once Iikkem touches the cube, will we need much else before the collab is posted? Other than some formatting edits and Nierefiem telling the group they've been given the ability to morph, it looks like we'd be ready to roll On a teambuilding excercise/character development note, I'm reviving a question brought up in the original Animorphs Roleplay: If they could acquire any morph, what would your character's signature morph/spirit animal/favorite morph be?

Don't you mean Iikka?

I've been thinking about Theo's morph. His book counterpart is obviously Marco, whose choice is to become a Gorilla. I think the Gorilla works well for Marco, who has to be stronger than he is to support his father and cope with the news of his mother.

Theo, on the other hand, doesn't have much in the way of family drama. Things go pretty well for Theo, probably too well. He's angsty and irritated by the move from NYC, and a bit frustrated that he doesn't fit in at school. Theo is pretty much the loner and outcast right now, he's not entirely social and probably doesn't need to be. To this end, Theo seems most like a big cat, or a lone wolf, something equally dangerous alone or in a pack.

I've always wondered why Jake's animal was the tiger. Perhaps due to his reluctance to take the leadership role, but it seemed odd to me that his morph wasn't something more like the male lion. Still a cat, still plenty independent, but head of the pack and willing to show power when necessary. That seems more like a leadership morph than the Siberian Tiger.

If I had to pick for Theo, I might go with something like a Snow Leopard or Caracal, or the Timberwolf. I would be reluctant to go for Timberwolf if I had a choice, but the species fits the region and wouldn't turn too many heads. The cats seem to fit better, but I have a feeling cats are going to be popular with this group (I may be wrong). In any case, I really like the idea of a small big cat, or a medium-sized cat as opposed to the tiger or lion varieties that would draw most people. I see Theo as someone who would happily sneak into a place and take down prey (Yeerks) quickly without making a big fuss, as opposed to drawing lots of attention with a big morph like a bear, big cat or ape.

As I glanced at Wikipedia's helpful list of extant predators I noticed that most land-based predator animals are mostly canine, cat or snake, with a few exceptions. The first two seem like the only viable attack morphs, as a snake or lizard would be too slow (and in the case of a snake, too difficult to maneuver) to use properly in a high-risk environment. There might be some better resources out there, or a classification I hadn't considered, but this is what I found.

Sorry for the long-winded answer, it just kept coming out.
Got'em, replied.

I'm going to head to bed now so I'm not overly tired for my last first day of school.
I made up for it in college. I'm 25 now and graduating this December.
Mine was the same as DotCom's, although I know my dad was 17 when he graduated high school (September birthday).

I'd be really curious to hear more about your plot arc involving Theo, DeadBeatWalking.
You called Theo Mario, but that's correct for Theo. If I'm wrong about Iikka being a Junior, then I can change that line.
