Not to be impatient or anything, but am I accepted?
@CaptainBritton Now, call me crazy, but I get the feeling you’re a soldier, right?

Nope. Just rather interested in the finer details of firearms and military organization.

@CaptainBritton

Assuming those shells are Dragon Breath... No. 1650C magnesium flames are not something you want anywhere near hostages, friendlies, buildings... Really anywhere. Plus, apparently they have a tendency of gunking up the barrel.

They're not meant to strictly be magnesium loads, however I do see your point. I'll edit it immediately.

Yes.
"Staff Sergeant, priority message from the Colonel." The young RTO spoke, his commlink pack active and receiving. Elias stood nearby and took the receiver, the piece chattering with the message. He replied sternly to the Corporal holding the commlink device a reply, the code of acknowledgement, obscure and indecipherable: "Kilo, Beta, Two, Four, One." And the Corporal tuned the commlink, the reply let fly, and then the frequency randomized seconds later.

Elias placed the receiver back on the commlink pack, and rose from a knee, calling his team leaders around, along with the Sergeant, his second. "New orders. We got one times friendly vessel downed in-sector. Immediate instruction comes direct from the Colonel. We find it, confirm its presence, and report back. Tac.." He looked up to the Corporal leading Alpha team, Tacema Rane, an old friend, a Duros who'd turned down offer after offer for promotion. "Tac, you and your team will be coming with me. Bravo team will remain along with the E-Web crew under the command of the Sergeant. I'll be taking my RTO along as well. This is effective immediately. I want Bravo to tighten the perimeter and continue the current objective, and Alpha'll load up on the Ark. We've got boys from the base bringing a transport for Bravo when the deal is complete."

The gathered individuals nodded in agreement and split their separate ways, and Elias conveyed his orders to the rest of the command team, and boarded the Ark promptly, seating himself and informing the pilots.

"Thirty seconds! Force be with ya'!" Spouted the pilot of the dropship, the comms rasping with the rough static of the signal. The waist gunners had already begun laying into the LZ, bolts flying back and forth as the engines flared. Flak and other anti-air munitions were already bursting around them, the shrapnel pattering against the hull like rain on a metal roof, and the deck shuddered. "Ten!" A waist gunner fell to shrapnel, dragged to one of the cabin benches to be treated as a dim red light illuminated the cabin. The flak began to inch closer, more on target, and then a cacophony of explosions. A nearly direct hit as the dropship sunk further.

"Gunners cease fire!" Lukas, situated in the throng of commandos standing near the rear ramp and side doors, ordered to the uninjured waist gunner and the rear gunner, who cut their blaster fire promptly, and the red light turned green as the gear scraped stone and dirt. The ramp dropped and the cacophony of battle seeped in, a thermal detonator landing direct in the horde of ten commandos all flooding out of the dropship. Lukas dove to it, grasping the red flashing object and threw it, clearing the heads of all of his squadmates, and it sent shrapnel and heat flying as it exploded within the air, not ten feet from the dropship.

Lukas and his commandos had continued to pour outwards, and now the dropship was clear, making its ascent with ramp and doors still ajar and the engines emitting a thick grey smoke as green and blue blaster bolts flew from the waist gunner and rear gunner's positions. Lukas, now immersed among the fire which had now cut down two commandos fatally, found a thick stone of which to use as cover, and likewise the remaining seven other commandos had as well. They dared not return fire, yet still hugged the cover, before Lukas barked into the comms: "Second squad is in the AO and pinned at the LZ! Requesting immediate support!"
