Leo listened intently to the words that left Marcus’ mouth, wanting to learn all he could about the prospective employee. What stood out to him wasn’t that he was from a small town or even that he was trying to make it as a musician, plenty of people were in Sol for that reason. It was the moment he spoke of his ex-girlfriend. He was clearly trying to put on a brave face but his eyes gave away the pain that lingered within. When Marcus finished his final sentence Leo was polishing off the remainder of his drink. It hadn’t taken him long to finish it but beer and lager rarely lasted long in front of him.

“I’ll be honest with you, this city has plenty of people coming here to try and make it as the next big thing. Very rarely does anyone make it to the top.” Leo placed his glass to the side and continued on. “That isn’t to say that you shouldn’t at least try. You may not make the millions of a famous pop star but you can earn yourself a fair bit just by doing gigs. Decent generic pub bands can get up to two, maybe three hundred for a gig. So don’t give up, just maybe think of a different avenue. Hell, if you’re looking for a band maybe we could start one?!” Leo laughed but was entirely sincere with his suggestion.

As the laughter faded Leo took a slightly more serious tone. “So Marcus…if you don’t mind me asking…what happened with your girlfriend? I understand if you don’t want to talk about it, I mean this is an interview after all. I just like my employees to know that if they are dealing with anything, that they can come to me. I hope you understand what I’m saying. ”

Leo’s phone vibrated on the table next to his elbow, showing Dustynn’s response. A smile crept across his face before he cast his glance back to Marcus. “Look lad, I’m just going to get right to the point. I want to give you a chance because you seem like a genuine person. I’d much rather give someone inexperienced, but who is a good person, a job over some pretentious prick who has worked bars all their life. So if you want a job, all you have to do is say yes. If you accept then we can head out to a nearby place for food to celebrate if you like? On me of course.”

While waiting for the response from Marcus, Leo began to respond to Dustynns message.

Well the more the merrier lol.

I have no idea when we’ll be able to do it, have you seen the forecast? I’m so excited for snow lol. I want to take you to Mount Atlas, the observatory would be a great place to see the night sky. Besides, there are plenty of scenic views with it being a national park. Have you ever been there? x

@Vertigo If you want to be a Gym Leader then feel free. As for being rooted to one place, I don’t think that’d be the case. They’ll have business to attend to in other places and probably have set times/days when people can come along and challenge them.

@Seirei No Hai Thanks for copying with me Lucario Accepted

@Sketcher Oh, another Lucario Accepted

With the taste of the beer still on his tongue, Robert's attention was drawn to the announcement that the main event was about to begin. I guess it's time to go. Being called from his shore leave just to take part in a ceremony had angered the man somewhat. It wasn't that he disagreed with the memorial, who alive would? It was that he didn't understand why he had to be there. There were other operatives who could have made trip and in fact would have relished it. Rob just wanted to take in the sights of Aite that had once been home to the horrendous Project: Overlord and honour the fallen in his own way. For all the horrors of that event, the planetitself was truly a gem of the galaxy.

Unfortunately for him he was going to be in prime position for the entire show and instead of a solemn, private day of remembrance, he'd be sharing it with swathes of people. As he moved down the aisle, passing the rows and rows of chairs, he caught sight of the reserved seating. All he had to do was get to that and wait for the thing to start. If he could avoid having to speak to any of the delegates he would consider it a minor victory. However, as soon as that thought entered his mind he cursed himself. A lone Asari approached him, her beauty missed by his longing to avoid conversation with anyone. "Good day to you." Her pale blue hand reached out towards him. "My name is Janarya T'scaeri." With the fakest of forced smiles on his face Robert reached out and took her hand in both of his to shake it. "Hey Janarya, my names Robert Cadogan. Wonderful day isn't it?" The Asari nodded in agreement and moved to speak, but was interrupted and Robert raised a finger. He moved his hand to his ear as if receiving a communication. "I'm sorry Janarya I really have to take this." The human moved passed her and dropped his ruse as soon as he was five paces away.

Eventually he found his seat only a couple of rows from the front and looked upwards. He was for the most part a social person, but his shore leave was the rare occassion he could get some solitude from everything and everyone. He soon felt a wave of guilt overcome him as he thought back to the Janarya, she was only being polite and he had been excessively rude to her. He looked over his shoulder to see her stood alone looking somewhat dejected. 'You really are a prick sometimes Rob,' he thought to himself. He rose from his seat and made his way back to the woman.

"Hey...I just wanted to apologise." The Asari woman turned to Robert and looked at him inquisitively. "Apologise? What for?" Robert rubbed at the back of his neck awkwardly. "I didn't really have a call to take. I'm just having one of those days. I really am sorry for any rudeness or disrespect I showed you." The woman giggled to herself. "You humans truly are a strange species. Apologising for absolutely nothing." Robert found himself smiling. "I just thought I was quite rude. How about we start fresh?...Robert Cadogan at your service." Janarya's giggle turned into a laugh as she spoke. "Janarya T'scaeri, pleased to meet you Mr Cadogan."

For a couple of minutes more the pair talked before another Asari appeared. "Janarya you're needed." Robert turned to the fresh arrival and then back to Janarya. "It appears you have to go." She looked down at her wrist and tapped away at her omni-tool before looking back up at him. "I've just transferred my contact details to your omni-tool, if you get hungry after the event I know a nice little place." Janarya smiled as she walked off with the other Asari, leaving Robert with a smile on his face. That was unexpected...

Robert returned to his seat still trying to process what had just happened and that was what he did right up until the event began.

He had made his way around the group, shaking hands, bumping fists and sharing warm hugs. He took in the various ideas banded around, fishing was always calming and swimming was always good for a laugh or two. However the weight that hung on his shoulders was a reminder of what he really wanted to do. It was his first time hunting since the passing of his father and he intended on last kill in memory of his father before leaving the pass time behind.

There were two loud gunshots that silenced the entire group. I guess i'm not the only hunter here then. The thought was a short one as Duncan spoke. Robert boistrously followed "Swimming...fishing...i'm up for anything!" The metalhead dropped his gear to the floor and moved over to Duncan at the suggestion of tents. He put his hand on his shoulder and leant over him into the trunk of his car. "Thanks for bringing this for me, absolutely no hope if I had this on the bike."

Rob walked from the back of Duncan's car carrying a bag that came close to dwarfing him. It was the tent he and his father used to share on weekend hunting trips, large enough in size that even The Dunk would be able to stand up in it without touching the top. Back and his gear he put the bag down and began to remove the parts of the tent. Speaking out loud to anyone that would be listening, "This baby has seen some use but it's damn reliable. Me and my..." He paused for the briefest of moments as his throat dried up. He cleared his throat with a stern cough before carrying on. "Me and my dad sat through some severe storms in this and it stayed standing...no leaks."
@Pandan Accepted! Welcome aboard!
