Arina Kawagana Age: 230
Race: Shinigami
Rank: Captain of the Second Division
Spiritual Pressure Color: Light Purple
Personality:Arina is a playful type to say the least; modest is not in her vocabulary which makes her unfavourable towards many other females. Manipulative, cunning and very tramp like, Arina would stop at nothing to get what she wants; however, despite her rather amazing yet completely unnecessary gift to make everything she wears look, well, immodest, and her touchy and flirtatious nature, she will fight to the death before she lets an undesired male touch her.
Shallow and sharp-tongued, she’s quick to attack someone’s emotional weakness for her own enjoyment. She’s selfish and will do anything to save herself before she saves another life. However, despite her unlikable nature, if she deems one worthy of her loyalty, she will follow them to the ends of the earth without question. Nevertheless, she will show that trait to anyone and then lead them astray, she’s a hard book to read and is a hellion to have as an enemy; but, if her trust is gained, she’s a good ally. It’s hard to pick which side Arina is on; she doesn’t tend to side with anyone. One day she’ll help someone and the next, she’s working only for herself.
However, as a captain, her division is hers and therefore, so are the members. She has the tendency to be selfish, and when her members are in danger, she extinguishes it; reminding the threat that they are hers, and if she wishes them to die, it will be by her hand. She is kind to those whom she views as allies, which, is basically the Gotei 13.
It’s not often she’ll act her age, childish and immature are her normal attributes. She’s incredibly lazy and will bribe others to get what she wants. She doesn’t take much seriously which can often help in serious and life-threatening situations. Calm, cool and collected is her game as it takes a lot for her rage to break.
History: Hatred is such a formidable facet of social behaviour; its animosity has the inclination to swallow your body whole, leaving nothing behind. It is cold and venomous, eradicating all traces of kindness within a person. It’s laborious and it’s harsh; it scrapes at all of your joyful emotions and makes you forget what it’s like to feel empathy and pity. This is why Arina has never been able to understand people choose to live their lives in hatred. It’s such an obnoxious emotion that only brings the worst out in people.
What’s the point in hating a person? It’s not like truly pains anyone other than yourself. Hatred is like a disease and if you give it too much control, it plagues everyone around you. With that in mind, Arina never wanted to be seen as cold blooded or cruel; while it’s true, she only looked out for herself, it was never the life she wanted. As a child, that’s all she ever wanted, to be a person that someone could be proud of… but how could she make her family proud if every stride she took, every trail, triggered hurt to those around her.
In the early days, all she ever desired was to be good. To protect her family and friends; but what does it even mean to do the right thing? Growing up in a noble house, she had to figure out what was right from wrong; but what if she couldn’t tell the difference? She didn’t know who to trust and she never trusted easily. She didn’t know what it meant to put her faith in someone entirely, or if it would be the right verdict or not. She just wasn’t old enough to make those decisions.
But where does it say you have to be old to know the difference between what is right and what is easy?
Philosophical thinking had never really been her forte to begin with.
Arina was only young when the Kawagana family began conspiring against the Gotei 13; she had seen many battles and rivers of bloodshed before she was even big enough to lift a sword. She grew up in one of the noble families, with a stern domineering Father who demanded nothing less than perfection from his children. Her Mother was obedient and loyal only to her husband and would carry out any command swiftly and firmly; she however, would only live to see her daughter childhood. Her older brother Osamu was the pride of the Kawagana and was being primed to take his Father’s place when he passed on.
For reasons Arina never learned, or never bothered to ask, she was a key instrument to her Father’s plan to overthrow the Seretei. Over the years, she had displayed exceptional skill, so, she would be sent to the Academy to be trained as a Shinigami. From there, she would work up the ranks until she was in a position of power to be able to pull strings, and from the outside, her Father and her Brother would wait and plan their attack.
So that’s what Arina did, carelessly cutting down those enemies in her path, she eventually made Lieutenant of the Second Division. It was a cold night when she received word from her Father – the attack was to be launched at dawn. So, Arina collected a group of trusted and silent members from the Second Division, and in the cover of night – they wiped out the threat to the Seretei; without a trace of evidence.
Arina could not stand being used as a tool for somebody else’s vengeance. The noble house of Kawagana fell to ruin and Arina covered the massacre up, making sure nobody ever caught wind of the family’s true intentions.
Eventually, Arina desired to no longer walk in the shadow of another – so, when she believed she was ready, she challenged the previous captain; a fight for First Seat in the Second Division. She doesn’t recall how long the battle lasted, but eventually – after many “cowardly” and “uncalled for” attacks, she walked away victorious.
Now she sits on her own “throne” and commands her own people, following only the orders of the Captain Commander – the title she had strived for from the beginning. She had used the influence from her family to gain a position in the military, and then used their nobility once more to make the right friends and claw up the ranks, once they were no longer of use, she had cast them aside. Her captain had shown her skills she would never have learned, taught her strategies she would never have dreamed of – and then where was no more to learn, she tossed her aside. She now lives the carefree life she strived for, remembering to keep that one eye open for that one knife that may, someday, topple her from her throne.

ZanpakutoName: Hinazuka
Type: Unclassified
Shikai Release Command:Hikisaku, Hinazuka (Tear apart, Hinazuka)
When released Hinazuka takes the form of two semi-circular Chakram-rings that when put together look like the Ying-Yang insignia.
The power of Hinazuka is wind-based however the way in which it uses the wind is special. The curved blades that encircle the wooden handles are constantly vibrating at an incredible speed, whilst this does increase the cutting ability of her Shikai its main focus is to distort the air around the blades. Using certain movements she is capable of vibrating the air around her blades which in turn vibrates more air creating waves.
[b[Shikai Skills: [/b]
1. The most basic use of her Shikai is to slash the air in front of her propelling it forward at great speeds. Whilst a basic attack these 'air slices' are capable of cutting shallow rock and can push heavy objects out of the way. By slashing at the ground she can propel herself upwards faster.
2. A more defensive move in her Shikai arsenal, by combining the two rings together and holding them both in the center she is able to quickly spin the knives left or right creating a sudden but strong spiral of wind in front of her. Whilst not capable of stopping very large objects or anything traveling at extreme velocity this move can prevent sword strikes and medium sized objects dead in their tracks before they reach her.
3. The third technique of her Shikai is more potent. Spinning the two rings in her hands she is capable of throwing out multiple 'darts' of air, incredibly small and almost invisible these small darts can penetrate steel and can turn opponents into pin cushions should they not realize.
Bankai Skills: Bankai, Kazeomite no Hinazuka (Hinazuka of seeing winds)
Again combining the two rings in her hands and placing them at her chest Hinazuka glows a magnificent white and then completely disappearing.
1. Whilst in Bankai the very air becomes her weapon, capable of grabbing the wind she can create almost any shape or size of weapon composed of incredibly high speed wind. Like miniature tornadoes these weapons can deflect swords block attacks. What's more she is capable of throwing these weapons and their shape can alter mid-air.
