AppearanceSamantha is a natural beauty, easy as that. Her posture is tall, straight, and her head is often held high with an odd confidence that always seems to exude from her. She is normally made up when out and about, carrying around a heavy air of expensive perfume and hair products, and her face is painted with extreme care. Even without makeup, however, Sam remains a nice face to look at, with high cheek bones and full lips. She has inherited her parents' green eyes, which seem to gleam coldly out into nothingness, and her hair is constantly changing in length and color, though as of now it reaches down to her shoulder blades and gleams with a dark brown hue.
Sam stands at about 5'7" and weighs a mere one-hundred and twenty-five pounds due to lack of eating. She is skin and bones really, but normally her flesh is hidden beneath expensive-looking layers and fur coats. Thanks to her well-paying job, Sam takes liberty in buying the most expensive fashions on the market. The outfits barely last long, however, as she often ruins them while drunk or high. There are times, when she is without makeup, that Sam looks especially worn or sickly, but due to her constant fussing over her appearance it is a rare sight to see.

PersonalityStubborn, angry, and usually drunk. These are Sam's usually emotions, often times hey can be seen burning in her green eyes or rolling off her lips in a variety of curses and complaints. Sam is a hot-blooded soul, one who usually does not take 'no, I/you can't' for an answer, and she constantly fights with those who have clashing views from her. As an artist, she is extremely watchful and careful, looking out for any beautiful structures and/or suspicious figures. This observant nature of her's is only dwarfed by her bullheaded wishes to stay in a constant state of euphoria. This happiness is gained by spending her nights awake, either dead drunk or ridiculously high. Such a cliche for artists, right? Sam definitely thinks so, she is most certain she is as cliche as an artist can come personally, but when it comes to her artwork she believes she is one-of-a-kind.
Her strokes are always clean and precise, her colors are always bright and sharp. When it comes to painting Sam is no pushover. She lives through her art, her tortures and her joys often come out onto the canvas in a variety of swirls or words or images. Usually, when she is working, Sam likes to remain totally sober, as it allows her creativity to flow and it pushes her mind to it's limit. Those who think it is wise to bother her during this time, however, may be met with harsh profanities and a bucket of paint being chucked in their general direction. Once Sam has started on a piece, she usually won't stop until she is sure she is finished. Most of her paintings take days to complete however, and due to these long working hours she usually doesn't get enough sleep or food unless someone is around to care for her.
Though it may be easy to tell through most of her paintings and generally nihilistic ways, Samantha is horribly depressed. Clinically diagnosed a few years back, she is still on antidepressant meds and usually she has a nurse come in every other week to check up on her. The doctors always tell her that her constant drinking and smoking are ways to fill whatever void she possessed, and Sam knew they were on the dot. She always feels empty or alone when sober, and to mask those feelings she drinks until she can't think. It is an unhealthy practice, but until Sam is able to feel like herself again she has no wish for stopping.
When around close friends or family members that don't despise her, Sam can be quite motherly and sweet in a party-animal kind of way. She is protective of those she deems worthy, and she has quite the soft spot for children and animals. To strangers she may appear obnoxious or nosy, and while she tries her best to not stare she always ends up allowing her eyes to follow beautiful people in the end.

"I should stop smoking? Don't fucking police me!"
HistorySamantha Rose was the first born of the Carrington family, and the first mistake. Cassiopeia had hopes and dreams for the young girl when she was toddler, hopes and dreams that she would live healthily and have a wonderful life. Of course, though, Sam's mother wasn't exactly aware of how to grant her daughter this wish. Cassiopeia was without a mother's touch, and she often turned to books about parenting or asked workers at TriV to help her gain a footing on how to care for the young Sam. Ultimately, Cassiopeia had hoped her daughter would be the perfect heir for the family business, but something went wrong. Somewhere along the line, Samantha just... Broke.
In her teen years, Sam noticed that her parents were rarely home. They worked most days, leaving her alone in the house with only her mind to keep her company. She had been a rather sweet child back then, a social butterfly and a girl with an extreme craving for all kinds of art. She was turned off by all the business courses her mother suggested she take, and due to her failing marks in these classes she began to feel extreme pressure from her parents. Of course, the pressure had always been there, beyond the caring, busy smiles Sam saw. Her folks were hard-workers, the ideal business owners, but they wished for her to take over their company in her later years. And Sam, well, just couldn't see herself as a CEO. The very thought of it made her feel sick, and incredibly sad.
It was late in her sophomore year of high school where she first turned to sex and alcohol to forget her worries. She didn't come home that night, and the next morning when she pushed through the front doors she was met with reprimands and worried faces. When questioned where she had been, Sam told a straight lie and then vanished to her room for the rest of the day. This was the first crack, and the first time Sam had felt truly terrible for lying to her parents. Despite feeling bad, she continued to hang out with the wrong crowd, and each morning when she got home her lies continued to build and build. Her actions were later discovered during her junior year of high school. By this time, she had started failing most of her academic classes. Her parents caught sight of all the red marks, and while questioning their daughter her illegal actions came to light. Sam was grounded for a whole year, restricted from seeing her "friends" and basically placed under house arrest unless she was in school. During this time, Sam became withdrawn from her parents, and she started focusing a lot of her attention on art, mostly the painting and drawing aspects of it.
These restriction just made Samantha wish to rebel more, and as her senior year rolled around she started skipping classes, focusing more on having fun then getting ready for college. The stress from her parents pushing just drove her to more outlets, until finally it was clear to them that she had no chance of pursuing their wishes. Barely passing her high school career, Sam's parents quickly asked what she wanted to do with her life, and Sam, finally, allowed her mind to be heard.
"I don't want to be your heiress! I'm not like you! I'll never be like you!"
The fight lasted a good three hours, and afterwards, still heated, Sam gathered all her valuable belonging and left.
She didn't cut her parents out of her life, no, she still loved them, and she blamed herself for being so foolishly driven to not follow their wishes. After she left home, Sam went looking for a place to stay, and she ended up becoming room mates with a woman named Jesse. During this stage of her life, Sam was nothing more than a starving artist, one who went out on the streets of New York selling her works. Her income was slow a bit varied, but her pieces usually were sold out by the end of the week. Jesse Valentine was her muse at the time, as well as her lover. It was a complicated romance, but it all worked out until Jesse was sent over seas for military work. Now, lonely as ever, Sam turned to other people to keep her warm, and she eventually met a man who seemed to cherish her. After a year of dating, Sam married the man at the age of twenty-five. Jesse came home a few months into the couple's marriage and, burning with rage, she left Sam behind to find work and a home else where. Sam was heartbroken by this, and she soon realized her husband was not all he turned out to be. She divorced him three years after their union due to abusive tendencies and realizing she really wasn't into men.
Sam took her new found free time to work towards her job. Her art became well known around New York city, and many of her pieces were auctioned to rich folks. Through these galleries and parties, Sam found her next lover. A young woman with an eye for sculptures. They married after a few months, and later divorced due to wanting different things. Sam, once again alone, spent most of her life inside, until Jesse returned from some desert town with her familiar warmth. They had a quick fling, one that last so briefly that Samantha often forgets it had happened.
She was given one year of peace from her hurricane of a love life, and in that year she auctioned many of her paintings, and even gained control of a friend's gallery. Her paintings and many of her acquaintances' hung within the white, selling for fair prices, and as Sam gained more footing in the art community she met her most recent divorcee. The woman was older, regal, and just seemed to over flow with confidence. They were married for three years, and later divorced on Sam's 39th birthday after having a wild fight. Another year of calmness (well, as calm as the depressed party-animal could be) came and went, and after a month of having no truly intimate friendships or relationships Sam concluded that she was simply someone who should live alone forever.
And then Jesse called. The two rekindled their old, old friendship, and they took turns visiting each other's homes during the next two years. Jesse, who was living in Arizona at the time, assumed they would simply fuck up their relationship again if they tried living together, so they settled with a strictly long-distance friendship... Until the letter came, that is. That night, Sam called up her dear friend and asked with a trembling voice;
"Can you please do this with me. I wouldn't be able to stand being with them alone."
EducationSamantha barely graduated high school, and once she left home she went straight into her life as an artist. Though she was without a degree, her pieces were visually satisfying enough to attract critics and buyers, and thus her living was made through skill and a bit of luck.
Favorite memoryWaking up alone on the roof of her penthouse, staring up at the starless sky after blacking out from over drinking. The party that had been there hours before had dispersed and it was so quiet and so lonely. And in the sky above Sam swore she saw a shooting star, just beyond the city lights. This scene has appeared in many of her paintings.
Least favorite memoryLeaving her family behind after the big fight. It's left a mark on her, and she can't seem to forget about that night.
