To be fair on my phone I have basically every single Andrew Jackson Jihad album so the chance of their songs popping up so often isn't too surprising.

Also yes, I know I basically just listen to albums /mu/ likes, fight me about it.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea

강성대국

December 8th, 2015

The wind was like ice slicing through his skin. However Doctor Gyeong smiled wider than he had in months as he looked across the field and at the marvel that towered before him and his team.

A rocket.

Years of research, test after countless test, and many staff leaving the team unannounced all led to this day. The day he would prove to Commander Cho and the world that the Democratic People's Republic could become a nuclear power. He just had to pray to whatever gods there were that this was not wasted.

"Doctor!"

Gyeong turned and his eyes widened. Commander Cho marched towards him from the main complex, behind him at least twenty more Officers with insignias showing their positions of power in regions all across the nation. However, what shocked Gyeong was not the number of men. What shocked him was who walked beside the Commander.

"Doctor, I would like to introduce you to Marshal Kim Jong-Un. Marshal, Doctor Dong Ha Gyeong is the finest Nuclear Physicist I have met in my years commanding this station. I am sure he will show us something spectacular today."

Commander Cho gave a glance to Gyeong, his eyes showing a mixture of concern and worry hidden behind a happy facade. Marshal Un looked over Gyeong for a moment before raising his lips into a large smile as he held out his hand.

"It is a great pleasure to meet you Doctor Gyeong, if you are as genius as Commander Cho has been saying then I dare say you'll be in my cabinet soon enough!"

The petty officers and Commander Cho all let out a laugh, as was common whenever the Marshal made a joke. Though Gyeong could tell few of them truly found Un's statement laugh-worthy.

"Of course, Marshal Un. My staff and I have worked tirelessly for days to bring honor to our nation, to you, and to General Secretary Kim Il-Sung, may he rest in peace."

Un gave a nod, his smile unchanged. Quickly Commander Cho filled the sudden silence with more mild chit-chat, however Un's eyes had raised to the rocket towering over the entire congregation.

The rocket was the same model as all the previous tests in 2006 and onward, a Taepongdong-2 ballistic missile. In 2012 the Taepondong-2 saw it's first successful flight that December, in which it was used as a space-launch vehicle. However with new modifications, this was meant to become something far more deadly.

Gyeong took his chance and quickly cut Cho off as he finished some idle joke, once again sending the petty officers into a roar of laughter.

"Gentlemen. With the recent changes to the national budget and the new allocation of funds to our testing grounds, my staff and I have worked without rest in preparation for Marshal Un and his staff's arrival. Gentlemen, today I present to you Taepondong-3."

Gyeong gestured to the rocket behind him far down the field, snow beginning to stick to the metal behemoth as it sat like a sentinel in the noon sunlight.

"While the Taepondong-2 eventually saw it's position changed from ballistic missile to space launch vehicle, the modifications my staff has made to the missile's weight and diameter believe we have at last found the key to advancement in ICBM technology."

"The bomb..." Marshal Un said, his smile widening and a gleam filling his eyes.

"Indeed Marshal. We believe we have found the final ingredient needed for our first successful hydrogen bomb." Doctor Gyeong continued, giving a nod to some of his nearby staff to finish preparations. "We will be begin our live test shortly. Of course, there is no nuclear warhead on the missile. However, if this test proves successful, testing of that nature can begin as soon as spring of next year."

With the snow piling as it was, the fields could no longer be tilled. Therefore, Jun-seo no longer had any immediate work. While his mother had begun boiling cabbage for dinner, Jun met with Ji-hu and Seo-yun. Ji was the model teenager for the military tract, standing at five foot five and easily one hundred eighty pounds of pure muscle and had a obsession with the soldiers who came to the village. Meanwhile Seo was far more homely, and one of the only girls who had the gall to associate with boys at their age. Her hair was raven black and looked of silk, and her face was smooth. She was exempt from the labors many of the children, both male and female, had to do due to her father being a scientist for the government. In fact, many of the adults in Jun's village had one connection or another to the government. Though this was likely due to just how close the Chongjin Military Headquarters was to their home. At night Jun would sometimes hear the sound of jets overhead as they flew south to patrol the coast.

As Jun marched through the sludge like snow towards town, the air itself seemed to explode with a sound. It was like the roar of a great dragon, the kind his father told stories about that existed in the days of kings and queens. However this was much louder than any dragon. It was like a jet, but far more guttural.

Jun turned his eyes up towards the pale blue sky and saw it. A black object, shaped like a pencil. From the 'eraser' shot what looked like flame and mist as it soared upward, reaching into the sky.

It was a rocket...
Doctor Buran eyed the Captain as he strode across the deck, his eyes going all to ensure the zailors were still going about their duties. Buran was somewhat surprised to see the Captain begin walking towards him, a small smile and a pondering look on his visage. For a moment Buran wondered if the Captain couldn't figure out how to start a chat, however at last he stopped and began a conversation.

"Aye, I believe one of those poor girls survived. Rumor in the harbor said she now travels with some captain she fancied, though she's not as beautiful as she once was. However that's all hearsay. Now, the Doctors that now own the place is a bit different. Of the two 'Head-Surgeons' I only have actually met one. Doctor Giovanni, a old Italian from the surface. I met him while working as a Doctor for Hire at Watchmaker's Hill, dreadful place that was. Good man though, Giovanni. A bit too invested in the occult for my tastes though."

It was indeed true that Giovanni was quite researched and reversed in occult rituals. However the true reason Buran had lost touch rather voluntarily with Giovanni was for far different reasons...

"So Captain, what shall we do once we've reached Venderbight? It's not a long voyage, and I don't imagine there will be a lot of work available in the Tomb Colonies. Just return to London?"
Once settled in and pushing the strange crash he had heard in the back of his mind, Doctor Buran strode calmly onto the bow and looked outward onto the Unterzee. Within those depths, things no mortal man should ever lay his eyes upon roamed and nested. Festering below that subterranean was madness.

No more mad than this ship.

Buran gave a smirk as he leaned against the railing along the bow. While others looked back towards London, he looked out onto the waters. Buran had watched the Bazaar shrink into the mist and out of sight as many times as he had seen the jagged rocks of Hunter's Keep and the dancing trees of Bullbone Island do the same. While more explored than many of those onboard, Buran regretted not visiting Venderbight in his previous travels. However, now was his change to redeem himself as a traveler.

As he watched the waters ripple below under the might of the nameless vessel, Buran began to wonder what path Captain Zeeman would be taking to reach Venderbight. From the maps he had scanned in the past Venderbight was a rather simple trip, not that a trip on the open Unterzee was ever simple. Would he risk traveling astray from the coasts? Buran turned his eyes up towards the command deck, knowing the Captain was up in his nest while the zailors worked below. The command deck itself held tinted glass, making it impossible for Buran to see if the Captain could see him or where the Captain even was. All he knew was they had taken a hard turn northward, north for the decaying Tomb Colonies...
I'll get a post up in the next 24 hours most likely. Like I said on the previous page, balancing personal stuff alongside two other RPs is a tad complicated sometimes.

Regardless, expect the isolated 'Kingdom' to have some interesting developments.
@aladdin_sane you seem like the type to funpost on /leftypol/. Please tell me this assumption is correct.

EDIT: Also I and Blackhawk (Syria) will be getting posts up within the next day or so. I'm currently juggling IRL stuff alongside 2 other RPs and he's in college so I apologize if we seem a bit 'behind'.
My apologies for a 'late' start. I've been somewhat busy as I am still in 2 other RPs currently alongside a consistent insomnia, however I'll be more normalized in my posts from here on out.
He's a strange fellow...

Doctor Buran had already traveled below deck of the nameless vessel and found what he assumed would be a Surgeon's Quarters. The immediate oddity Buran noticed being the constant changes in size. One room would easily house at least ten men, the next barely three. He knew that this vessel was clearly old, but the navy of the past couldn't possibly have been so inconsistent and unorganized in their building schematics. In addition to the oddness of the vessel, it was only befitting that the little Doctor Buran had seen of Captain Zeeman also gave off the impression that he too wasn't entirely normal either.

Regardless, the promised pay and the chance to get out of Fallen London and onto the zee once again. Thus the Doctor began unpacking the few trinkets and supplies he brought with him, predominantly medical equipment and vials of strange and exotic herbs and medicines. If there was one thing about the Unterzee that was positive, it was the marvels that nature had created in these dark depths. Marvels that the good Doctor planned to collect, for scientific and medical research alongside a personal interest.

As he stared into a the purple leaves of a small plant he had collected in a previous voyage long ago a crash broke the silence of his newly designated quarters. With a gasp Buran spun around to face the source of the noise, only to still find his surroundings empty. He strode to the entrance to his quarters and looked down into the hall, curious as what had caused the mysterious broken glass sound. However, the halls were just as empty as his quarters...

Such a strange ship...

It'll be funny if we Brits do ban him from entering the UK and he becomes President. No more special relationship for you! *Island Stronk*

Anyway, back to Greece.

Expect a post this afternoon (or afternoon in my time zone, I expect most of you are North American/Oceanian).

I'm an American but due to some things I generally am up for 18 hours at a time so I'll see your post don't worry.
