Sorry I'm taking so long with the other character. Due to a project I'm working on, I've been lacking in free time and when I do get free time I'm normally out of creative energy. Ment to finish him this week but I now realize that's no longer a reality.

'Sophie'

Name: Zshonzee Chal'vok Bradzevon, nicknamed herself 'Sophie' when she settled on Tyra.
Age: 36
Gender: Female

Appearance: At 5'11" in height, Sophie is considered slightly shorter than your average Vannertha.

Species: Vannertal

Rank/Specialism: Chief Engineer

Skills: No formal education but has a strong understanding of spacecraft and their inner workings. Able to adapt repairs or functions of ship equipment when needed.

Personality: Sophie is a common Vannertal; unsurprisingly sociable and hardworking. She takes her duty seriously but tends to make a joke in most situations. Sophie will usually try to be positive in difficult situations, believing a solution can be found or made. If trapped and powerless, however, she may react out of fear.

Bio: Born on a spacecraft by loving parents during their years outside of Yamathray, Zshonzee was one of a growing number of Vannertal who were born outside of their home system. Her father was a planetoid researcher while her mother was a member of security aboard the ship. Zshonzee spent over 20 years of her life on that ship, taking up an interest in mechanics and learning what she can from one of the engineering crew. At the age of 22, a pirate attack ended up in the capture of the vessel, along with it's crew. Those that lacked any kind of skill or value were executed on the spot, her father being one of them. Those that remained were sold to slavers, Zshonzee and her mother included. Within a month, the slavers sold Zshonzee to another group of pirates for her engineering knowledge, separating her from her mother.

During her time as a slave, Zshonzee learnt the cruelty that humans can possess; seeing settlements demolished for their loot, people being killed for sport and how quickly betrayal was used. For the sake of her own survival, she complied with her masters' orders as best she can. She kept the ship running in spite of the lack of tools, the occasional change of leadership and constant scorn and abuse she experienced.

After 9 years of this, the pirate ship was boarded by the Tyran Space Guard and Zshonzee was finally freed. With no-where to go after the rescue, she managed to find a place of work at a local Tyra shipyard and helped with the repair of damaged ships. It was at this time she started to call herself Sophie, to make her name easier to remember for her co-workers.

Due to her experience as a slave, Sophie excelled in repairing vessels when it was deemed too difficult or even impossible. She quickly gained higher positions in management and helped with constructing ships as well. After 5 years of hard work, she was offered a Chief Engineer spot upon a newly crafted ship, that she helped make. She willingly accepted, eager to see more of the galaxy.

Other: Though she has never seen her home system, she has a loyalty to it and her people. Also, she tries to hide the fact she was in fact a slave only a few years ago, feeling a sense of shame from it and wanting to forget the memories.

What kind of uniforms does the Tyran Space Guard use? Or is it all missmatched, due to the various factions within the fleet, at the time of attack?

Species Name: Vannertal
- A quick note about the species name: Vannertha for singular, Vannertal for plural

Home Planet: Vamathray

-Vamathray is a small Earth-like world, 4th planet of 10 within the Vannertal solar system. The star within the system tends to burn-up anything organic on the surface of the planet. As a result, most of the organism live in the large cave systems created by ancient underground rivers, lakes and oceans.
- Once every 8 years, roughly, the planet enters into it's most devastating event simply known as the 'flooding season'.
- 'Flooding Season' = This happens when the planet is it's furthest away from the solar system's star and cool enough that the heated rain can finally land on the planet's charred surface. The rainfall then proceeds for 40 days before ending. During this time, the rain water floods the various caverns in the planet. While most of the native life tries to find a place to hide, some can take the flood waters head-on.

Physiology:

The Vannertal are an advanced evolution of plant life that have a organic glow that helps them travel safely around the dark caverns of their planet. Their facial features, and other external elements of their body, are hidden behind a very thick and tough membrane that gives them their glow. This membrane can be controlled by a Vannertha, allowing said features to be exposed or to shift it around their body. Many Vannertal tend to use their excess membrane to apply shapes to the top of their heads, similar shapes to hair, to make themselves look more human.

Due to this membrane surrounding them, and their soft bodies, Vannertal are extremely resistant to blunt-force trauma and minor scratches but sharp objects can easily pierce through and cause severe wounding. In spite of their toughness, they cannot compete the same physical feats of strength that humans can.

The Vannertal are also very resilient to extreme heat due to the flood waters normally being just below boiling point. However, they don't do well with flames or cold environments.

When the flood waters would come, and at a more ancient time, a Vannertha would find/make a hole to hide itself in to stop itself from getting dragged off by the power of the flood waters. This would still leave them exposed to the water and any debris that would join them in their hide-away. Due to this, they're body has an very thick and strong membrane surrounding them. This membrane doubles as their skin and protects their vital organs as well as their skeletal structure.

The average life-span for a Vannertha is roughly 150 years. When they reach their adult years, Vannertal keep their apperiance until the last two decades of their life, where they start to shrivle up and lose their green glow.

General Physical Appearance & notes

- Note: Finding a good pic was hard and I wasn't going to reuse my character's pic for this. The 'Vannertha' character is the green one wearing the clothing to the left. I also want to point out that the Vannertal can be a variety of greens.

Culture:

Being an exploitative and curious race, the Vannertal developed space travel to expand into their solar system. Upon doing that, and establishing a relatively strong control of their system, many would leave their home system to quench their exploitative nature. They would hire themselves off as mercenaries, researchers, treasure hunters, and the like to see and charter the galaxy for their people back home. In spite of many Vannertal living individually when outside of their home borders, they are quite a social race.

As they explored the stars, many Vannertal started to adapt to more of the cultures of other races, to the point where they started to take an interest in fashionable clothing, foods, holidays and other activities.

Innate Abilities:

-Can survive underwater for roughly 2 hours, varies between individual Vannertal.
- Due to their natural glow, Vannertal can work in dark environments without hindrance. However, they are not very good at hiding in the dark.
- Though physically tough, they are quite weak opponents when in hand-to-hand combat.
- Sharp weapons and the like are their Achilles' heel.
- Can easily burn from flames but they can stand higher temperatures of heat than humans
- Extremely cold environments can cause their membrane to freeze and crack. They avoid such places like a plague. Mildly cold environments are painful for Vannertal.

Other:

- The Vannertal call their government the Vannertal Coalition. Their system is located just outside of the Imperium's borders. However, Vamathray has since been 'liberated' by the PAF. As to what's happened to the Vannertal Coalition and its fleet is unknown.

If you really want, you could take the Chief Engineer spot. I'm flexable. Or we could have a little fun with it and the first person to put up their character and is accepted gets the spot.

Another question (was editing this into previous post as you responded): How realistic are we going to take this? In terms of the aliens anyway?

The current idea I have for my alien race is basically living energy contained within a kind of sci-fi plastic suit. If you're not sure, I could simple post the Alien Species CS here when I'm done it and you can make your decision then.
