Welcome to the Jurassic World.

This roleplay is an alternate version of the movie 'Jurassic World' where I'll still use the name of Isla Nublar and the likliness of the movie but not use any of the characters' names. So I wouldn't care if one of you had the exact same appearance and name as Chris Pratt's character.
Oh, but some characters will still have to be mentioned. Like the original dudes from Jurassic Park. John Hammond. The current park owner. ACU commander. A few others maybe.

The plot: You are all visitors, workers or strangers who came to the island for one reason or another. We'll start off with everything going swimmingly, you're all attending the same attraction when shit goes down. I'll narrate and play the NPCs, side-characters and plot-devices.
It's all fairly straight forward. I'll give you guys room to do what you want but I've got somewhat of a storyline of how this is going to go down and how it -can- end. Multiple endings. you decide. Easy.

I would like some organization when you post your sheets. Like, at least put the section names in [bold] so it pops out. Colors are welcome. Go nuts.

Inventory: (Optional, I suppose. Any specific items your character would be carrying? It's okay to have an entire backpack of stuff if you're a hardcore dinosaur fan but keep it realistic.)

Going for about 5 players (give or take), should be enough. Don't want too many or too few. Let's keep it a smaller group for now.
I'm not gonna force you to post a lot but it'd be nice if everyone was kept in the loop.
I will allow a maximum of 2-3 ACU characters depending on how many we get.

Note that the OOC OP can change or have information added to it throughout the RP as we go. If anything significant that affects your characters or the RP comes up I will mention it, other than that I don't want to hear things like "You didn't write it in the OP!" or "Omg you added that just now to fuck with me".
This very paragraph is an example of things that are added at a later date.

Rules

I feel the need to specify in every RP that I GM that I reserve the right to decide who's in or out of this roleplay. My word is law and you are free to discuss it with me but if you're being an asshat you're most likely out.
General guild rules apply of course.
Also please note that your characters CAN get KILLED in this RP. So if your character is out in the open doing dumb decisions then I will most likely force you to deal with the consequences. I will not kill characters without reason of course, but please keep in mind that your character can be killed in this RP.

Greetings guildmates!

I saw Jurassic World the other day and thought it was awesome. It had a few points where I'd raise my finger in momentary protest but I quickly lowered it because it was just so entertaining.
So ever since I've been irking for a jurassic park themed RP.

The plot? Pretty much like the movies. A giant theme park involving dinosaurs attracts people, and eventually something goes wrong. The dinosaurs break free. Wether they're genetically engineered or not we'll have to decide later. So the resort goes to hell and the characters have to find a way off the island. Plane? Unlikely, unless one of the characters happens to be a pilot. Helicopter? Same deal. Boat? Could work, but then it'd have to be a big boat or you'd have to row/sail in open seas for days. Unless the survivors find a way off the island, there will eventually be a rescue operation involving a big boat and the military most likely.

The characters can be ACU, resort-workers or just regular visitors/tourists. However I'd rather not TOO many people go for ACU as it would mess up the plot.

Anyone interested?

It was cool in general but some small parts really irked me. Like how the genetically modified dinosaur communicated with the raptors, they joined him, but then that one guy got them to switch back and attack the giant dinosaur. There was how they somehow didn't see that giant dinosaur hiding in its pen and were dumb enough to go in BEFORE asking the guy in the control room to see where it was? Those parts were ridiculous enough to make me shake my head.

The hot redhead girl made up for those parts though

Agreed. I also didn't like how as soon as something got in it's mouth, it's dead. Sure it probably sunk all of it's teeth in it's flesh and sure it probably broke a lot of bones while doing that, but you're telling me that one raptor died instantly while the blue one survived being smashed into a wall several times?
Also are t-rexes really strong enough to throw each other around like ragdolls? Hmm.

I guess it's all part of the movie though. It didn't feel unnatural, I kinda accepted it.

Also: Red-headed hotness ftw.

Passtime off-topic talk while we wait for posts.
I watched Jurassic World the other day and man, that movie was great! I've been itching for a Jurassic Park themed roleplay ever since. Same plot as the movie: dinosaur gets loose, people die, the characters have to find a way off the island.
I ... Really want to do that, but I grow weary of DM-ing. I just don't want all the responsability y'know? Of course, this Civ RP is among the biggest DM-ing and RP-ing projects I have ever undertaken so it's probably nothing compared to this but still, it takes a toll.
