I suppose the interest isn't that great. I'll put this idea on the shelf for the time being, maybe come back to it once I know exactly what kind of setting I want to do. Thank you for your input, Skelace, and your interest, Drache!
Where ya at, buddy? :D
I suppose I'll give it a try! Send me a PM! (I'm not able to post every day either so I think it'll be fine)
sounds like the kinda thing I'd like to do right now!
If I remember correctly the war of the lance era saw what was the absence of the gods, but that they returned later on when the heroes called for them. Perhaps we should do something similar - the gods are strangely quiet to answer prayers, and Takhisis gathers her forces in Neraka. Eventually, she releases her wrath upon the world with the aim of claiming it for her own, and with her coming, the dragons too return.
It was a while ago since I read that particular trilogy so I think I'll have some catching up to do, but I think it's possible. What do you guys think?

Well whatever you decide, let me know. Dragonlance RPs are at the top of my list of favourites.

Awesome!
Julius looked at his bloodied hand. His breathing had become heavy and the snarls and snickers of the goblins agitated him. He knew he was in deep trouble by now. "Guys... I think I need some help over here!" he shouted at the others as he slowly backed away from the advancing Goblins that surrounded him. He had to act quickly. Was he to brace himself for their attack, or does he risk being vulnerable by channeling mana to use with the stardust? Damn this whole situation! Julius didn't like speaking ill of the dead but if Desmond hadn't burned that house down this wouldn't have happened. Julius staggered and blinked. He was losing blood. Time to act.

Narrowing his lips in a snarl of his own, he decided to take the big risk, to channel his mana. The goblins would no doubt attack him any second, and then maybe he could use his stardust to blind them and retreat. It was the only plan he had, he couldn't fight this many at once. James and Auron seemed to hold their own pretty well, so maybe if he managed to retreat they would come to his rescue soon.

Me too! Been itching to do a Dragonlance RP but I've GM'd a few RPs lately and they ended with me not being able to GM them anymore because it was too much work while I was way too busy.

But I agree with your idea, it's what I've been thinking too. The group will have to stick together as a whole, their ideals have to guide them to the same end no matter how different they may be. For example a dark-robed wizard might look to increase his power by claiming the power the group wants to destroy as his own, while the gallant knight has sworn to destroy this evil without any sort of reward whatsoever. No matter what end-game they seek, their paths may be different but they are working towards the same goal. The group has to split up sometimes in my opinion, it makes for a much more fun and creates more exciting situations. For example one part of the group is taken captive, the other part have to rescue them from Draconians or something else exciting!

The biggest challange of this RP is however to create a story that drives everyone forward consistantly. Then again, I'm not sure how many will join in.
Indeed. I'm looking for something "lightweight" however, while still retaining the epic environment of the trilogy. With lightweight I mean something that doesn't require copious amounts of DMing.
Indeed, Sturm and Raistlin were destined to go their seperate ways, and it was important for the outcome of the story. How would we manage such a thing with random people, however?
Aye, that's what I thought too. I wouldn't want to spoil to you what I've read past the Summer Flame, but for mysterious reasons I feel like the war of the lance is a great time to be situated in, in this RP.

I'm thinking every character has some sort of role to play in the events to come, that will change the world, but in my experience it's hard to do this sometimes because when people make their own characters some of them tend to not get along at all. It makes it hard to keep the group together for the sake of plot, when reasonably speaking they'd all part ways because they do things so differently.
An alternate story to the war of the lance? Intruiging. I could get behind that, but then we'd have to stick quite closely to the war of the lance lore and try to reshape events into our own plot.

I am currently reading the war of souls trilogy and I'm halfway into the second book, so don't spoil anything!
