The first arrow she let loose drove itself deep into the advancing ruffian's foot, causing him to topple over before he could reach her. He grunted in pain and dropped his axe, clawing at the arrow that protruded from both ends of his foot. "Sorry, but you're just not my type." An'zu smiled sweetly and wagged a finger at the downed man, carefully maneuvering backwards as she reached for another arrow. Her jibe only made the man infuriated, and while he himself couldn't move, he bellowed for the other men to kill her. If before they wielded their axes just to threaten and frighten her, now she was pretty sure they were really going to use it against her. An'zu was starting to get worried, but she could never quell the urge to run her mouth. "What's the matter? Can't your boss handle a little prick?"

Luckily, some disturbance from behind distracted the ruffians before An'zu made her situation even worse. A blonde mercenary had called for their attention, sword drawn and looking very much like he was up for a fight. The man seemed capable, and their still groaning in pain leader roared for three of them to attack. Obediently, three of the ruffians quickly turned to charge at him, axes at the ready, while the remaining two stayed to deal with her.

And as if things weren't hectic enough, another mercenary appeared out of nowhere, one with hair as dark as his clothing. Unlike the first merc who, despite seeming annoyed at having to help, looked pretty confident and capable, this one looked like he was ready to piss himself at any given moment.

An'zu was amused at the unexpected turn out of events, but she also couldn't help but feel just the tiniest bit annoyed. Her plan had been to run away (though not before shooting everyone's feet, just because she can) to avoid possible complications. She didn't want to risk getting guards involved, just in case they bring this matter back to the higher ups, who was slightly more likely to recognize who she was. The kidnapping ruse wasn't her idea, but she was growing to appreciate it as she got to explore more of the world. She was not at all ready to return to her home.

She could technically run away now, seeing as the two remaining ruffians who hadn't engaged the blonde mercenary now turned to the dark haired one, but she knew doing so wouldn't sit well with her. Chonsinese honor, and all the crap. An'zu shrugged and looked around: the street they were in was still pretty empty, and the guards probably weren't yet alerted. There was still a little time to have some fun.

"Well, my mercs in shining armor, guess we have to do this the old-fashioned way."

An'zu released an arrow to hit the first ruffian again, this time through his dominant hand to disarm him. In her defense, it wasn't entirely out of spite. It was about 87% spite and 13% to save blondie, whom the ruffian was about hit with his handaxe. She had another arrow already nocked and ready to be loose, but An'zu waited to see how the others fared before releasing it.

After all, she'd just bought these arrow. She'd hate to waste any more on these lowlifes.
Haha, thanks Savo. I probs should notice these things too. :p
And I'll have a post up later today.
It was a little after sunrise when An'zu awoke from her restless slumber. Excitement for the day's activities coursed through her veins, filling every fiber of her being such boundless energy that it was a challenge to sleep the night before. It has only been five days since she was taken from her country, and there was still so much to see. She hasn't even begun to scratch the surface; the five days she spent in Ylisstol was hardly enough to see the whole of the town, much less the country. After that, there was still the militant nation of Regna Ferox to explore, and Plegia following that. She wanted to tick off as many items in her checklist as she could, before she was reeled back into her life of shams and propaganda.

The day's gentle breeze was a welcome one, and as it tussled her hair and tickled her nose, An'zu thought it to be a premonition of a good day. She rounded the corner past the weapon shop with a spring in her step, tucking her considerably lighter coin purse within her obi. Her betrothed was considerate enough to pack a little bit of money before he unceremoniously threw her in a ship to Ylisse, but she sort of wished he wasn't so stingy. She did another little hop to hear the clanging of her gold and grinned sheepishly when there was scarcely a sound. Perhaps she may have overdid it with the shopping after all. She ran her fingers along the fletching of two dozen new arrows, then shook the small bag of sweets she held. No, it was definitely worth it. She grabbed a small slice just to prove it.

As she walked along the street, she ripped a flyer plastered on a tavern's wall, before realizing belatedly that she probably wasn't supposed to do that. Oh, well. She skimmed its contents and took a bite of her cake slice (chocolate filled with even more chocolate!), looking around as she felt pairs of eyes on her. Seeing no one, she shrugged it off as overexcitement, and continued to peruse the flyer. It seemed there will be a joust later today. How fun! The Chonsinese didn't particularly care for jousting, at least not the version that involved horses (they preferred a sky battle with wyverns), and in festivals they put more importance in combat tournaments. An'zu put another bullet on her to-do list and continued following the… street.

"Ah, not again."

In spite of her circumstance An'zu had to laugh. This was the ninth time she found herself going to the opposite direction of her destination. Last she looked, the castle was towering over her, just a few feet's walk. Now it was a good couple miles away. She shrugged; it was good to know her abysmal sense of direction didn't just apply to Chon'sin and Rosanne. With a scoff, she picked a direction at random and rounded the first corner she encountered. She expected the streets to be nearly empty at this time, but today there was a lone figure sitting at the corner, being ignored by the few busy people probably setting up for the joust.

"Here you go, mister," An'zu said as she approached him, putting five gold coins in his hand. Strands of his red hair stuck out from his hood, and though she couldn't get a good look at his face, she could tell he was around her age. She stared at her bag of sweets for a long while before grudgingly giving him the biggest slice of cake she had. "That one has fruits inside."

An'zu waved goodbye, dejectedly muttering something along the lines of "that was the best one." She was just about to continue on what was turning out to be a too-long trip to Castle Ylisstol when she felt the pairs of eyes on her again. An'zu looked around, expecting to see nothing once again, but was greeted by a group of axe-toting ruffians instead. They leered at her as they closed in, spewing crass words she pointedly ignored.

In one swift movement, she managed to grab her bow and nock an arrow, but the ruffians only laughed. "One against six," one of them said. She aimed at him, but he didn't look the least perturbed. He licked his lips and beckoned for his men to move closer. "Not looking too good for you, missy."
Almost done with my post!

Name: An'zu
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Birthday/Zodiac: August 30 - Virgo
Allegiance: Other (eventually Sacred Blades)
Class: Archer -> Sniper
Weapons: Murasaki, a forged Killer Bow
Appearance:

Personality: The sass is strong in this one. An'zu is self-assured but laidback, and even though she tries to hide it, there's a certain sophistication in her movements and speech that hint at a noble upbringing. Due to years of being restricted, her pent-up desire for freedom have all but exploded into the surface. She has thus adopted a devil-may-care attitude toward life and is currently too easily swayed by her whims; An'zu basically does whatever she feels like doing, with little regard to what consequences that may yield. Naturally witty and good-humored, she also has a quip ready for everything, although whether it's jocular or snarky depends on the company and the circumstance. In general, humor is something of a defense mechanism for her, and she tends to brush off worries with a lighthearted flourish and hides her fears under mounds of jokes. Although she's usually frank and direct, when something genuinely upsets her, she closes herself off and raises her walls. She readily offers to help others in need, but when the tables turn, she believes she has to solve her problems on her own, lest she get too reliant on the kindness of others.

Among friends, An'zu is playful and openly affectionate. She likes to tease the timid ones especially, often by encroaching on their personal boundaries to see how much they can take.

History: An'zu is the seventh child and only daughter of the Chonsinese royal family. She and her older brothers were trained in combat and politics practically as soon as they were born, and although she personally chose to forego the usual swordplay training (she felt like being a rebel), she was trained in archery. As a member of the royal family, she was expected to be well-versed in the ways of combat, to be able to rise to defend the land in the face of great dangers, like the great Say'ri did years ago. It wasn't until she turned sixteen that an entirely different responsibility was placed upon her.

Ever since Walhart's conquest of Valm, the countries of Chon'sin and Rosanne had been at a constant state of disagreement that only intensified as years passed, eventually reaching a point where their citizens began to openly fight each other. It became a dangerous feud that cost lives. Both her parents and the duke and duchess of Rosanne wanted to restore the peace, but their initial attempts were resisted by their people. Too blinded by their loyalty for their land, neither party wanted to make amends unless the other formally begged for forgiveness.

That was where An'zu came in. As a final resort, the two ruling families eventually thought to combine their families. If the Chon'sin's beloved princess were to marry the Duke's equally beloved son, their loyal citizens would then have to offer their begrudging support. They thought it would help put a cease to all the fighting, and could possibly even start strengthening the bond between them. For two years, An'zu and the Duke's son had to put up with the ruse and they toured the cities of both countries, pleading for peace. It worked for the most part, although the more radical citizens continue to wreak havoc. There was something about the idea of star-crossed lovers that appealed to the masses, and dissent amongst the people were gradually dying down, being replaced instead with the buzzing of gossip.

An'zu had just turned eighteen when everything changed. It was the day of their wedding, the culmination of everything they worked for, when the radicals decided to take action. The day itself was a blur to her, and she remembered only the seconds before she was knocked out. When she came to, she was on a ship going to Ylisse, a small bag with her belongings and a note attached to it, signed by her betrothed. It turned out that the ones who kidnapped her were 'friends' who wanted to save her from a restricted life.

Blinded by her desire to be free, An'zu easily accepted the tale fed to her, even though her instincts told her to do otherwise. It was the first time she traveled beyond Valm, and it thrilled her to see the different cultures. She is currently aimlessly traveling about Ylisse, trying to see as much of the world before she is forced to return to her home.

Unbeknownst to her, her kidnapping had set alight to the feud between the two countries who blame each other for the incident.

Ability: She can charm her way out of things

Quirk: Selectively listens; unfamiliar with the current happenings outside Valm

Strengths: Lithe, deadly accurate, resourceful, unpredictable
Weaknesses: Too reckless, too stubborn to ask for help, can't take a lot of blows, her small stature generally means she's weaker than others, self-indulgent, no sense of direction

Likes: Jokes, snarky retorts, fun people, teasing people, sweets, learning about the different cultures outside of Chon'sin, reading
Dislikes: Bitter and sour food, uptight people with no sense of humor, being forced to speak formally, boredom, being reminded of her home and the responsibilities she's running away from

Other: "How about we do something fun?"
Nearly done with my archer! I'm working on the history, and I was wondering if it's okay to make her a daughter of the royal family ruling Chon'sin. Or would Say'ri still be the queen at this time?
One chick on the way~ ;P
I'll try to have my CS up by tonight.
I'd like to throw in my interest. :)

Traverse Town.

According to the two children who had poked her with a stick to ensure she was alive, she was in a place where the lost gather. Kaz knew immediately what they meant—after all, she was among the lost—and for some reason, it brought to mind a very peculiar dream she had the day her world was invaded. You will join the others, an eerie voice had called out. To the world where those scattered from their homes meet. It all sounded too real at the time, and she could have sworn it wasn't a dream at all, but then she woke up on her bed. Kaz wanted to ask the children about it, hoping they might help her make sense of it all, but they scampered off before they could tell her anything more.

Instead, she spent the first hour after her awakening strolling about the so called town, noting with interest its strange architecture. The first step should always be to assess the situation and environment, then proceed from there. From what she gathered so far, the town was split into districts, each one quite different from the one before. She looked about the third and second districts first, but aside from a few people walking along the streets, she found nothing significant about them. At one point, she found herself distracted by the dark the night sky, and she took the time to wish on a flickering star. In her world, the more superstitious residents insisted that a wish placed on a flickering star always came true—she didn't believe them before, but now she hoped there was some truth to that.

She wished she understood what was happening.

As if on cue, a loud ringing sounded from the distance, and without warning a small orb of light appeared before her. It moved strangely, as though it was beckoning her, and it took Kaz all of a second before deciding to follow it. She wondered if she was imagining things again, but there was something familiar about it. Like she had seen it before… no, like it was meant for her. Overcome with curiosity, Kaz trailed after the light at breakneck speed, caring little where it took her. There were people that she passed by, but she had been too focused on the light to notice who they were. She was starting to get excited to see what was at the end of this. Could it be more of those shadowy invaders? A portal that explains all the world jumping? Or perhaps some odd machine that existed only in this new world?

Kaz imagined about twenty-eight different scenarios, but the light leading to a raven haired boy in a dark set of clothes wasn't one of them. He was at a café, and it seemed like he was waiting for something. There was another girl who had come just before her, and she had a guiding light as well. She came just in time to see a weapon materialize in her hand—one similar but somehow vastly different from her own anomaly. Upon close inspection, it seemed that the raven haired boy had one as well.

"Wow!" Kaz approached the two hurriedly, practically bouncing in her excitement. "You guys have that key thingy, too! How did you get it to appear again?"
