Modern World:

Present time it is. Like Fern said, we don't need to complicate this world.

Misc:
The Earth anagrams thing is pretty clever! Haha, I love it. I don't know why, but it fits really well.

The 20-30s is also fine by me, although I might shoot for the lower range because I don't know how well I'd play someone over 25. And I can make do with whatever post limit you guys want. 3-4 paragraphs is perfectly fine.

I feel like we're about ready to start! :D So what else is there for us to decide on?
Listless days were the bane of her existence, Emery decided. She swung herself higher on the makeshift swing attached to the tree across her house, sighing as she stared vacantly at the sky. Outsiders, not that they get many of them nowadays, would argue that every day in a town like Krukow must be spent in similar indolence, but that usually wasn't true (although today certainly was dull). There were things you could do that was fun, if you looked hard enough. Like swimming in the lake, or fishing in the lake, or having a picnic by the lake. Exploring the island was a personal favorite pastime of hers, but not many shared the sentiment. There were the occasional Rifts that needed closing, and she supposed some would consider that fun, though she tended to stay far away from those. She heard a lot of the townspeople say Nora Vincent's bar was loads of fun, but a lot of them also liked to tell her to stay away from it. Of course, Kuiper was always more fun, but she hasn't visited their neighboring island since she always went with her sister—

Emery fell from the swing with a thud, landing face first on the grassy knoll. She rubbed her nose frantically and scrunched her face to keep imminent tears at bay. Falling didn't hurt at all, but the pang in her chest certainly did. This was why days like these were the bane of her existence. She was left alone with her thoughts, and that's usually not a good thing. It ended with her wondering why she was still in Krukow when her sister was calling for her. Two weeks have passed since she received the message, and yet she was no closer to finding her.

Before she began another hour-long self-berating session, a low rumble echoed from a distance, effectively distracting her. Emery jumped on the swing to get a better view and spotted something large in the horizon. It disappeared in between the trees before she could get a proper look, but she saw enough to glean a bit of information. Judging from its size, it was most likely a freight ship, although it flew lower than what she thought was the standard. She lifted a finger and traced the path it took: if it maintained its trajectory and speed, then it would have landed in the northern part of Krukow.

Emery cupped her cheeks with both hands, involuntarily squishing them as she made a face—a look many of the Krukow residents have come to recognize as her 'thinking mode.' Should she go or not? She knew a shortcut to the northern area; she could get there and back before anyone realized. But it was a little scary. Maybe she should get someone to come with her? Aubrey seemed like he was always up for this kind of things—in fact, this was more his forte. Oh, she could tell Mr. Fixit, too! If she was right about it being a freighter, he probably would enjoy getting to see it up close.

She realized then that it was probably not a smart idea for her to take her hands off the swing ropes, but the realization came a second too late. Once again, she fell from the swing but this time she proceeded to roll down the knoll, landing on her rear about five seconds later. Grass clung to her hair and clothes, and her face was dotted with dirt. Unfazed, Emery immediately got back up and headed off, already decided on what to do. Okay. First find Aubrey, then Isaac. Then they could take a look at the giant ship. She ran past the town hall, where she accidentally bumped into two unfamiliar uniformed men whom she mostly ignored, and down the street toward Aubrey's house.

Of course, it wasn't like her to arrive at a destination without tripping at least once. As she rounded a corner, Emery took a faltering step and ended up skidding 11.3 mm across the street.
I like how diverse our crew is! :D

Quick question: since a lot of our characters are from Krukow, that means they would have some sort of pre-established connection with each other (or know of them, at the very least), right?
Lovely pictures! I think we could use a lot of those.

Fantasy World:

Maybe runes could be used when brewing potions? Like, say you brew a potion that heals your wounds. If you were to use a fire rune on it, then it would not only heal you but give you a boost in energy. Or maybe even make you fireproof for a minute. I'm okay with four basic runes, though I imagine we could mix and match, so to speak.

Sci-fi World:

Yes, I loved GotG, too! <3

No robots is fine, though I think AI would still be a big part of the world. Hoverboards, aircrafts, and the likes are fun, and I think we would have holographic interfaces too. Like this!

Modern World:

If the sci-fi world and fantasy world were still contact with each other, what could be the reason the fantasy world hasn't progressed with their technology? Would it be because they have no need for it?

Misc:

I like the idea of having the three different worlds pursue completely different goals. Makes for a lot of conflict. So if we were to go with that:

Modern World somehow gets the prophecy backwards, and believes that it called for the three worlds to divide instead of to unite. Fantasy World gets only half of the prophecy—the part that warns about something really bad happening—so they prepare for that. They don't know that staying with the others worlds is the only way to stay safe. Then we have the Sci-fi world, the only one that got the whole prophecy down. They've been doing everything they could to reunite the three worlds (maybe that's why they have such advanced technology? They've been trying to build a new method of communication/transportation between the worlds).

Also, any ideas for names yet? :D
I've finished mine, as well! :) Let me know if I need to change anything.

Hello! Hope you don't mind if I leave a WIP.

Done! :D
Fantasy World:
I think, so long as magic is widespread in the world in that everyone can use it (basically, our characters aren't the only special ones that can) but only if they work for it, we wouldn't have to worry about verging in mary sue territory. Sticking with runes and potions seems like it would work, as well. But how do we go about using runes? Like, will we stick to using magic wands to draw runes correlating to a spell? Or will we use incantations?

Sci-fi World:
For this, I imagine magic and science is one and the same. How do we want this world to be though? Sort of sleek with technology integrated within the world, like Xandar in Guardians of the Galaxy, if you guys have seen it. Or more dark and gritty cyberpunk like this.

Modern World:
I think we could maybe integrate the prophecy and warring worlds idea together. So waaay back when, travel between world wasn't unheard of. In fact, it was a common thing to do. But then something happens, and the three worlds sort of start becoming hostile, and their conflicts just slowly develop into all-out war. As a last resort, they decide to break the mirror—which is the only means of world transportation—and from then on, each world was on their own.

As for the prophecy, it could be one that forewarns a threat to all three worlds. So it'll basically be saying the three worlds need to unite and band against this super big bad, or they'll all die. But it's been centuries, millennia, and nothing has happened. The prophecy's become like a fairy tale in the modern worlds. People know about it, but they all think it's just a story.

I do agree that it could be interesting if prophecy gets mixed up in the other worlds. Like, in the fantasy world, it becomes twisted into like a day of reckoning sort of thing. They think when the prophecy happens, it'll be the end of the world for them for some reason, so they're hell bent on disrupting it and making sure it never becomes fulfilled.
Throw her a belated birthday party! :p
I'm currently on mobile, so I'll just add some quick response. I'll make more sense when I'm back on my computer, haha.

So I think the difference in technology would only really be an issue in the medieval fantasy world, but since it is a world wherein magic (possibly) exists, it shouldn't be too farfetched to believe modern/futuristic technology just don't work. Maybe there's magical particles in the air that interfere with them? Or a barrier around the entire world that prevents them from working? It might get difficult to be consistent if all resources from other worlds aren't allowed to exist/just get vaporized in a new world, like you said.

EDIT:
As for what the baddies can do, we could go classic route and maybe have gems/orbs/any sort of power source/parts of the weapon scattered all over the different worlds, so no one person can use a powerful weapon. Of course, the baddies will want all three of them, so they travel between worlds to get their hands on them.
Ooh, the mirrors idea is interesting! Mirrors are always a trusty way to construe parallel/different universes. Modern, fantasy, and sci-fi/cyberpunk just about covers everything, so I'm okay with those three worlds, too! :D

So what were the possible roles you were thinking of? I can think of one where would we essentially have the same female and male character, but each of us will be playing different versions of them. That could be interesting to explore (lots of parallels and foils and all that fun stuff), but we might also be slightly more limited with relationship dynamics (though not by a lot).

EDIT: Haha, we posted at the same time!
